I was on my way to a place when I realized that I was super hungry, so I saw Vitale's on the way and decided to drop by. I got the Classic Vitale's Pizza - Deluxe, 12". On the deluxe pizza, you have sliced pepperoni, ham, Italian sausage (that is homemade), mushrooms, green peppers, and onions. Needless to say, it was a very hearty pizza. The pizza was good! It wasn't oily, which I appreciated. The amount of toppings they added was in generous portions. The veggies tasted good - not wilty like how I have experienced in pizzas elsewhere. The meats on the pizza were delicious. It lasted me three meals. The crust was good - I do prefer slightly more doughy and thicker crust, but that is just a personal preference. For the 12" pizza it was $20.90, 14" was $23.60, and 16" 26.65. But considering how it lasted me 2-3 meals, I suppose the prices are pretty decent! But if I were to spend that much money on a pizza, I'd probably rather go to Martha's. But Vitale's later hours make it much more convenient. The service was good though. I ordered behind the counter, and got to talk to the people who worked there - super nice! It was fun talking to them. It was around 9:00pm on a Sunday, and I waited for around 15-20 mins to get my pizza.

Takeout pizza

The pizza here was phenomenal. The breadsticks, not so much. The sauce was possibly the best sauce I've ever had. We ordered a few dozen pizzas for a party and it went mostly okay. For a large order, you have to place it 2 days ahead of time - understandable. When we picked our order up, some of it was not ready. Therefore, we had to make two trips to get all of our food.

Club wrap

I've been to Vitale's a handful of times and enjoy this local sports bar/pub. The menu includes pizza, sandwiches, wraps, salads, pasta specialties, and more. I ordered a club wrap with chips the last time we were there and Nate got the deluxe sub. The sub was definitely the way to go! I loved the soft bread and the toppings were plentiful. The wrap was decent, just your average club wrap. The kettle chips were pretty bad somehow, they tasted like nothing to me. I might get fries next time. I've had Vitale's pizza before and it's average. I think I prefer Peppino's to Vitale's for pizza at least. Our server was swamped and they were definitely short staffed so we had to ask for a couple things a few times but overall it was a good visit. I don't frequent this neighborhood spot too often but I've been satisfied when I do stop in.

French onion soup VITALI on Leonard
Mike B.

This place has the best French onion soup in town! The pasta is delicious too. There was a buffalo chicken pizza ordered for the table which I did not try because I was full, but everybody said it was very good

Stromboli
Jason C.

I opened the stromboli after eating some of it and noticing what I thought was extra cheese was raw dough. Not a little undercooked, but inedible raw. I tried to convince myself it was cheese cause there's no way it could be that raw. But it didn't break down in my mouth and did not taste like cheese. I really wanted it to be cheese cause I was hungry and wanted to eat it. So gross. I recommend going to the Vitale's in Comstock. They are always on point. I've had several bad experiences at the Leonard location. Highly don't recommend

After spending 2 days in the heat at Upheaval fest my friend and I were looking for a kitchen open late that was close by. Vitale's popped up and after looking at the photos of the interiori was sold. We arrived at 11pm she's the kitchen was open for another half hour. We got a large meat lovers pizza and let me tell you, we were blown away. One of the best pies I've had in a long time. Fresh from the oven the cheese pull was epic. The Italian sausage had a great fennel flavor and the sauce was slightly sweet. The staff was great being very attentive even though we rolled in almost at the cutoff. Really the only thing I would complain about was my phone (t-mobile) could not get a signal inside the restaurant. But that's my network's issue not Vitale's.

It's ok. It's not the best pizza I ever had it's not the worst either. This is only my preference I don't like my green pepper and onion all diced up super tiny. The crust was very chewy. I ordered the deluxe and it seemed to be mostly green pepper and onions, mushrooms are from a can. I wasn't to impressed. I won't order it again

We've gotten plenty of takeout from Quarantino's over the years, but only recently stopped by to dine in. We were greeted right away and got to choose a nice booth by the window. The menu is concise and features their delicious Detroit style pizza. I was starving so we ended up ordering quite a bit to have leftovers - the kale Caesar salad, one of the weekly feature pizzas, and the Quarantino's deluxe. The salad is one of my favorites - it's made with curly kale and topped with crunchy kettle potato chips. It's always good and makes for great leftovers because it's so hearty. Our pizzas came out shortly after our salad was finished and they were delicious. Their crust is perfection - fluffy but chewy and crispy in the right places. I personally love their red sauce the most because it's savory, and not overly sweet. The toppings on the deluxe were plentiful and high quality. The special pizza rotates weekly(ish) and this one had 'nduja, ramp aioli, and shredded potato. Plus lots of cheese. Their specials are always inventive and sound so tasty. Our server was super fun and awesome to chat with. I really liked him, he brought such a big smile to my face. I am so glad we finally got to have the dine in experience at Quarantino's and we'll be back for their mid-week pizza, pasta, salad deal!

The place was packed full of people (a sign of a great restaurant) and while I sat and waited over fifteen minutes past my pickup time, I watched people come in, be told it will be a few minutes and then their receipt/order gets pulled and then taken to the back, like mine was. Almost as if they don't bother making the pizza until you show up? Anyway, we picked up our pizza and bread and headed out. I was surprised at the small box that contained both the pizza AND the bread; I got into the car and opened it and laughed. The pizza was small, the bread was small. I was surprised at how little food there was. Oh well! Lesson learned. We took it back to our hotel and fed the kids. The pizza looked delicious, but was just ok. The cheese bread looked amazing - and then I bit into it. Dill. Why is there dill on the cheese bread? Overall, it was an experience. Nothing terrible, nothing great. Note: finding parking for carry out is a challenge.

Nate and I have had their food twice now - once was a complimentary pizza order during their soft opening period, and we just ordered delivery over a lazy holiday weekend. We got the supreme pizza and cheesy bread on our most recent order, and have also tried the caprese salad and rustica pizza. The menu includes lots of options beyond pizza - appetizers, subs, wraps, salads, pasta, stromboli, and dessert! They have vegan cheese and cauliflower crust options too. Online ordering is quick and easy through the Franca's Pizzeria website, and I like that they use their own delivery drivers. The charge for delivery was only $4 which isn't bad, especially considering all the upcharges for third-party delivery services these days. I ordered ahead for a later time and it arrived a few minutes early. All the food was hot and fresh. The supreme pizza has ham, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green pepper, and onion. The hand tossed crust is a medium thickness, but they also have thick crust as an option. The toppings were plentiful and fresh, and I loved the sausage. The sauce is not overly sweet, so it gets a thumbs up from me. The cheesy bread is really good! It's not super tough or crunchy, I like that it's pillowy in the middle. You can get extra cheese, but I thought the regular amount was plenty. We also loved the caprese salad - it was super fresh, with a nice amount of fresh mozzarella and dressed nicely. It was nice to have a bit of a healthy side to go with our tasty pizza. Franca's rates slightly above Peppino's for me (my other favorite local pizza spot), mostly due to their unique toppings and specialty pizza combinations. I'm super intrigued by the campagnola: margherita sauce, caramelized mushrooms and onions, sausage, bleu cheese, tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella. If you're in the area and need a takeout pizza, check out Franca's.

The Foolery came up on Yelp and figured we could not go wrong with pizza to feed our starving children. They have a great selection of Detroit style pizzas here. We didn't feel like being adventurous so went with the pepperoni. I've always loved Detroit style pizzas due to the thicker crust that's crispy on the sides and The Foolery passed the assignment. Pizza was really good! And as a Chicagoan, that means a lot! The size of the pizza is a little small - but you get 6 slices so if you're hungry or got a big group to feed, I would plan accordingly. Remember Detroit style is a rectangle pie, not circular like a standard whole pizza. We got the Elote dip as an appetizer and it was a clever take on one of my favorite Mexican snacks. It came with elote corn and chips on the side. Like I said, clever and not bad! Our server that day was awesome. We had a group of about 13 people and they just had small pub tables that fit 4 people each. But no problem because he was willing to organize the whole front room and put 4 of those tables side by side to accommodate all of us. He did it happily and without complaints. Our food did take some time to come out, but that's ok. I was amongst great company and had a good drink in hand, we were out of town and all was good. I would come here again.

We could not hear each other at all, even almost yelling, so we really couldn't talk. If you're going to eat and vibe, might be the place for you but to go eat, it was a bit extreme. Also they have "$3 beers" after 9 and it was just PBR. All others were regular price. Marketing was a bit misleading there.
