My bicycle group organized a dinner here after the restaurant closed. They did an excellent job serving the 15 of us. It was a preset menu and they met everyone's dietary needs. Service was quick. We sat outside and they had ceiling space heaters. The food was fresh and flavorful.

I love Vita's. Bruce is so nice and they have live music- the patio in the summer time is great. The only thing that I wish was different is I wish that they had food that was not pre made- like if they started to make deli sandwiches or charcuterie platters it would be the cherry on top. Vita's is awesome, and dog friendly!

Whoops a bit missing.....the turkey panini with the curried chicken salad and the carrot salad with coriander......a great light lunch.

After seeing this on King 5 Evening we decided we needed to stop by. It was a really fun place with an interesting selection of sandwiches, salads and sweets. A late lunch of a turkey panini and a couple of salads made for a great meal. Followed by their almond cookies and all enjoyed with a nice glass of rose. A place we would definitely eat at again.

It's hard to describe the atmosphere of this place and it's nuances throughout the day, ... but one thing is constant, the longlasting experience on your taste buds, ... just wished we had more time to try all the other wines we had never heard of .... and skating ring outside ...

Very sweet tucked away garden location, this high-end deli is a treat. It is wildly expensive but wildly delicious as well. It's obvious that everything is made with love, with ingredients grown in their greenhouse or by equally attentive locals. You're literally walking into the kitchen so it feels very European, with all the ingredients out and visible. It is a visual delight! The wine selection is impressive, very thoughtful and well-balanced. There are many really good affordable wines here and with a few savory nibbles to accompany it, you could have yourself a very special afternoon. The day we went in, the selection of goodies including shrimp cakes, meatloaf, macaroni and cheese and stuffed peppers. Vita's takes these familiar favorites and makes them sing! We had a slice of "Not yo ma's mac and cheese." The cheese melted into the pasta, giving it the most divine texture and it was laced with smoked paprika and fresh herbs and dusted with breadcrumbs. Truly spectacular. This is the kind of food you eat very slowly. I would have loved to try more things but we'd already spent more than we'd wanted to on the island and had to tighten the purse strings. But, rest assured, the island gives back far more than it takes -- in breathtaking beauty, warm hospitality and adventure. Vive la vita!

Wonderful deli type food. You order from the counter. Very limited indoor seating for about 8. Large lawn with picnic tables for seating next door. My wife had a spinach quiche, phyllo with tomatoes and cheese. I had a small lamb kabob $5.95 with yogurt dipping sauce, flank steak on a skewer $5.95, and a Oregon shrimp cake $2.95. All excellent.

We ordered a few lattes made with their in-house syrups, and every single one of them was incredible. We loved them so much we went back for them again and again over the weekend we were there. We also tried their chorizo burrito and donuts, which were both outstanding. I honestly want to go back to the island just to eat here again! The ambiance of the place is awesome. It is super kid-friendly outside, featuring a wonderful yard with plenty of toys and things to do, which makes it incredibly relaxing for families. To top it all off, the staff was incredibly nice, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visits. I highly, highly recommend checking out Medio Cafe if you are anywhere near the San Juan Islands. It was so good, and it's an absolute must-visit spot that we will definitely keep coming back to!

They accidentally put the hashbrowns within the sandwich. Instantly, one of the staff members tried to rectify it and give me extra hashbrowns no charge. I absolutely appreciate that, and declined as it wasn't a huge deal. The sandwich was delicious! I enjoyed my lavender matcha (albeit I think next time I'll make it a little sweeter). The restaurant is walkable from Friday Harbor. We went straight there right after we got off the ferry. There's also a cute little patio to sit on. What a great time!

I've never had one so amazingly light, soft and perfectly just-sweet-enough. Wonder if they will ship them...? We stopped by Leaven for breakfast one morning on our trip getting a savory crêpe each and a couple pastries. Didn't even make it though breakfast before we knew we had to do a repeat the very next day because it was so good. Crepes are French style and are clearly made with skill and talent. The space is bright and cheery with very friendly staff. I see other reviews mentioning waits during busy times or complaints but experienced nothing of the sort. We were a bit off peak and didn't have that issue but I can honestly say I'd be HAPPY to wait for the food at Leaven. This is really something special and whoever is behind it has a gift.

Everything is oversized. A biscotti is $7 but it's the size of a slice of pie. It's a cute place, full of art. The drawbacks were the bathroom smelled funky, it's open to the outside so flies are buzzing, and it's a bit inefficient with their work flow so we waited over twenty minutes to order drinks at the register. Having a dedicated cashier and a different person making drinks and somebody else running orders would speed things up.
