My bicycle group organized a dinner here after the restaurant closed. They did an excellent job serving the 15 of us. It was a preset menu and they met everyone's dietary needs. Service was quick. We sat outside and they had ceiling space heaters. The food was fresh and flavorful. read more

Very disappointed. Service was ok. Ambiance good. We ordered pizzas which were made on the site. It took forever for the order to arrive and the bottom of all our pizzas were burned black! We did not complain but one wonders if a fairly small simple pizza cost this much money should there be at least some quality and care put into it. read more

I love Vita's. Bruce is so nice and they have live music- the patio in the summer time is great. The only thing that I wish was different is I wish that they had food that was not pre made- like if they started to make deli sandwiches or charcuterie platters it would be the cherry on top. We stayed on Lopez for two nights and Vita's Wildly Delicious was the only option on the second night other than the Islander (not on our list at all, due to some negative reviews) and the grocery store. We arrived expecting pizza, but they had a limited take out à la carte selection. We took two servings each of crab cakes, croquettes, puff daddy (best item), potato salad, spring salad, corn cakes, and some bread and sweets. We went to Blossom around the corner and picked up a bottle of nice wine and two big Holly B cookies (I need this recipe). We made a meal of it at out room and watched the sun as it set, then the planets as they came into view. Thank you Vita's for providing most of the provisions for a wonderful night! read more

After seeing this on King 5 Evening we decided we needed to stop by. It was a really fun place with an interesting selection of sandwiches, salads and sweets. A late lunch of a turkey panini and a couple of salads made for a great meal. Followed by their almond cookies and all enjoyed with a nice glass of rose. An amazing evening! We brought some out of state friends that were visiting and they spent the whole time marveling at what a delightful place to be. We were there when a flamenco dance group performed. Fantastico! Wait staff was so nice and helpful. Food was delicious, we all got different dishes and shared. Wine was good, did the wine tasting with a funny wine pourer. Tasting wine and laughing at the same time, what a treat. All this was outside, under the trees on a perfect evening. Ordered 2 lamb skewers, 2 chicken skewers, 2 shrimp cakes, and corn/bean salad. A little pricey at $49 (with tax included) but tasted amazing! The chicken was tender as can be and the lamb was so well flavored! Everything on the island is expensive, so I'm not holding it against them. read more

Is the food good? Sure. It's fresh and tasty. Did we feel welcomed by the staff? Not really, no. We were visiting Lopez Island for the first time and were there early in the week (M-W) as opposed to Friday through Sunday when a lot of things are open. Vita's was our one option for dining and since we'd heard good things about it we were eager to check it out. When we arrived we queued up per covid precautions and listened as the staff gleefully exchanged jokes and pleasantries with the local man that was inside ordering food to go. When he left we entered to a *noticeably* cold welcome - no hello, no is this your first time here, nothing friendly at all actually. We were greeted with "what would you like" and that was it. When we asked questions there was little to no eye contact. When we said thank you, there was no response. When we were done with our food and I returned to ask whether or not we bus our own tables I had to return a second time since all 5 workers who were inside were too busy to notice I had a question even after I said excuse me. Upon my second ask I was told that there was a "drawer" where I could put my dirty dishes. Clever that they've built in the busing station into a little dresser by the front door. Intuitive? Nope. But cute I guess. Go for the food but manage your expectations of what warm service looks like. read more

Very sweet tucked away garden location, this high-end deli is a treat. It is wildly expensive but wildly delicious as well. It's obvious that everything is made with love, with ingredients grown in their greenhouse or by equally attentive locals. You're literally walking into the kitchen so it feels very European, with all the ingredients out and visible. It is a visual delight! The wine selection is impressive, very thoughtful and well-balanced. There are many really good affordable wines here and with a few savory nibbles to accompany it, you could have yourself a very special afternoon. The day we went in, the selection of goodies including shrimp cakes, meatloaf, macaroni and cheese and stuffed peppers. Vita's takes these familiar favorites and makes them sing! We had a slice of "Not yo ma's mac and cheese." The cheese melted into the pasta, giving it the most divine texture and it was laced with smoked paprika and fresh herbs and dusted with breadcrumbs. Truly spectacular. This is the kind of food you eat very slowly. I would have loved to try more things but we'd already spent more than we'd wanted to on the island and had to tighten the purse strings. But, rest assured, the island gives back far more than it takes -- in breathtaking beauty, warm hospitality and adventure. Vive la vita! read more

Wonderful deli type food. You order from the counter. Very limited indoor seating for about 8. Large lawn with picnic tables for seating next door. My wife had a spinach quiche, phyllo with tomatoes and cheese. I had a small lamb kabob $5.95 with yogurt dipping sauce, flank steak on a skewer $5.95, and a Oregon shrimp cake $2.95. This place is consistently delicious. The flank steak skewers, shrimp cakes, and the asian noodle salad and perfect for a picnic. The day we went in they were selling BLT paninos and WOW-- so yummy. The wine selection is fantastic and the staff who work the counter are so friendly, talkative, and welcoming. I understand the pricing is on the expensive side, but that's what happens when you are literally on an island. Will make sure this is a regular stop on our list when we stay on the island. read more

What a great concept! You choose your food out of a deli case, they plate it, heat up whatever needs heating, and you head out to the courtyard to enjoy your meal! They feature wine and beer, although we didn't have any of that. We stopped into Vita's after a day of hiking at Iceberg Point. We grabbed a delicious snack of Asian noodle salad and a marinated flank steak. Both were delicious. We took home a beet salad and Mac & Cheese for later in the evening along with a nice bottle of wine from their eclectic collection. Best meal we had on Lopez Island. Let's just start with the shrimp cakes because that's what I was blown away by. Get them! Savor them. And maybe get another two to go because you'll want some later. Everything we ordered was tasty and obviously made in house. One of the fellows was even nice enough to make something off the menu to please our two picky kiddos. In their defense, we had been camping for 4 days and they wanted some hearty grub. Lots of options for vegan/vegetarians. The prices are a little steep but it is hand crafted, health food. Vita's is well named - wildly delicious. The food is that good. It is a friendly and wonderful place. You can get food to take out, or eat it at little tables in the garden. The garden will feed your eyes. The setting is relaxed but someone is obviously paying close attention to the details and ingredients - everything is done with care and imagination. We LOVE this place. The food is fresh, organic, local, and tastes amazing. They have a great organic wine selection and lots of fun events like taco night with live music, or wine tasting. This place is the best ok a sunny day. The ambiance is very cute and cosy, and they have great outdoor seating with sun or shade. This place is more pricy... but that's what you get when you're dishing up high quality, organic, local amazingness and taking good care of your employees. Chose Vita's based on the great reviews. We were welcomed by super sweet staff who were extremely helpful. We ordered multiple items so that we could try different things. Mac and brie was cold in the middle and dry, Asian slaw tasted fermented, cauliflower croquet was really delicious, lime chicken was fabulous, but only 2 bites on a skewer and they charge $4.95. Ridiculously over priced for size and presentation. The topper on the cake was the extremely rude owner/manager. He spoke degradingly to his staff about getting a phone number from someone, sat within 5 feet of us never said hello or asked how our food was, never greeted us. Poor overall experience here. We came across Vitas while cycling on Lopez. Definitely one of the best restaurants I've had the pleasure to dine at. What an awesome treat after cycling and on a small remote island. The owner could not of been nicer and more hospitable to our group and all the other patrons I saw him deal with. Also the food is 4 star or above. We were on Lopez island for a weekend getaway in mid February and were looking for something to do on Friday night. The website is incredibly confusing as it says they are closed for the season starting the end of September but they will have wine tasting on Friday nights starting the end of November. Maybe to locals this is clear as to what it means but it was not to us. We drove by and saw lights so we decided to call. My husband called the number listed and simply asked if they were open or closed. The response he received was "grrr, click' and he was hung up on. Needless to say, we will not be back. We have been coming to Lopez island in the winter for 3 years now and understand many businesses close for the off season but never been treated so rudely. read more
