    Wow. Where do I start? Everything was perfect! Everyone was so friendly. The variety of pastries was plentiful. We enjoyed oat milk lattes, prosciutto cheese and caramelized onion crepe, citrus crepe, morning bun and kouign-amann. Everything came out warm and was served with a smile. This is now one of our favorite places on the island.

    Second visit we've paid to Leaven in the last 30 days. We love it. Taste is amazing always, we've tried multiple things in the menu and even when the restaurant is packed, service is great, timely and on point. The crepes always made fresh both savory and sweet. If you want to try something amazing, try the local braised lamb gyro (crepe) or a classic like chocolate hazelnut. We've had also the ham and cheese croissant which is crisped to perfection. While it may be busy in the weekends, be patient, it's worth it as all is made from scratch and amazing.

    This cute little cafe and lovely owner made my day with the most delicious thing I had on my trip to the PNW - a gluten-free lemon curd crepe! I'm devastated that I live on the other side of the country...but maybe that's a good thing. Good luck to the locals who will be popping in here all the time! I wish I could've tried everything, but it just doesn't get any better. The sun tea was really refreshing too. The wait was a little long on a Sunday morning, and they had to send someone literally running to the store to complete my order, but it was sooo worth the wait! I'll be dreaming of this crepe.

    Samantha baker proprietor gets up in the predawn and laminates her dough every morning. The flake on the croissant was epic. You can smell the real butter from down the block. Spare white walls and blond wood full of light clean crisp Scandinavian tea shop feel. Many gluten free options - quiches, pasties, tortes, gf crepes. Generous with ingredients. The prosciutto cheese and carnelized onion crepe was piled high! Strong well made coffee drinks. San Juan island raised Korean pork belly so flavorful and crispy with fresh arugula. Mmm mmm mmm.

    Beautiful small shop for a quick breakfast. Items are made fresh to order, quick and warm. Prices are amazing. Not a lots of drink option.

    I've eaten a lot of crepes in my time but this restaurant's were by far the best!!! Staff are really nice! A great place for brunch.

While waiting for the departing ferry at Friday Harbor, we left our car parked in the ferry queue and hoofed it a few blocks to this cute little ice cream shop. The staff were super friendly - summer vacation kids working tourist season - but they were kind, engaged, and knowledgeable about flavor selection. And, oh my goodness... the flavors to choose from! This shop serves Lopez Island Creamery ice cream, and if you can, always opt for the seasonal flavors. They had Blackberry Lavender, Lavender, Mountain Huckleberry, Strawberry Fudge Brownie and more. I opted for 2 scoops of Lavender and was not disappointed! Cold, creamy, oh-so fragrant, but without an overpowering medicinal lavendar taste. It was perfect, and so refreshing in the hot summer sun. Make sure you take an opportunity to get some Lopez Island Creamery products while visiting the San Juan Islands. I chose the one called "Healthy Start" because when I travel I'd like to have some veggies or fruit on a daily basis to keep a good bowel movement iykyk. I don't know why, but when I read the menu, the oatmeal sounded so much exciting. But when I actually got it, it looked kind of boring, just like the one I make at home. It was good and did the work though. My partner had the "today's special," velvet cake toast. He said it was too chocolatey and the portion wasn't that big for the price. I had one bite, and honestly, I was fine with the chocolatey taste. So if you're a chocolate fan, you might want to try it, otherwise skip it. I guess if I had ordered my usual two egg breakfast, it would probably have been great.
