My absolute favorite stop in Watertown. Used to stop here a few times a wheel, but now I always make a trip when I head through town. Huge sandwiches, plenty more than I need at a Siri g (but I would always house it anyway). All the ingredients tasted fresh and the meat had a very natural flavor. Probably some of the best cut chicken I've ever had from a restaurant. Awesome cookies and awesome wraps too. Try that Mona Lisa. My god. That pesto mayo! Always treated like a regular, or like a friend. The only problem I've ever had were some of the snobby clientele, but you'll have that when you go anywhere that serves quality food. Awesome place. We were sorely disappointed after our lunch outing to Vito's. The ingredients were fresh, but very basic, for the high lunch cost. Our sandwiches had a mayo based pesto sauce which was good, but slathered on like half the bottle had been used! Both our stomachs felt nauseous the entire afternoon. Too much goopy sauce! The food was okay, but for the price eh not really they dont offer anything as a meal such as fries or chips. The gentleman in the back was very monotone and short with answers. Vito's really is the epitome of gourmet sandwich shop. The sandwiches scrumptious and generous (by that I mean ginormous lol), the soup delicious, and the atmosphere elegant if not a little snobby. About a year ago I stopped by this place and got a pastrami sandwich special they had going. Pastrami, coleslaw on some weird bread. On paper it seemed legit, but after sitting down and biting into it, I soon realized that the money I spent on this sandwich was money wasted. Like many establishments in the area, they claim to provide quality food worth the money. This in-fact isn't true. If you are from southern tier of this state from any of the five boroughs, lower your expectations, because if don't your only going to set yourself up for failure. The sandwiches here are nowhere near to what you get in the city, they don't use quality products, they're definition of bread falls well short of the Brooklyn Italian bakeries and their techniques are amateur at best. Topps has a decent loaf of bread and Wal-Mart sells DeLusio cold cuts, with a little sandwich spread you get s better sandwich for a fraction of the price that taste s lot better than what Vito sells you. They are NOT worth your time or money! read more

I dropped in with my husband and mother-in-law to grab a bite to go. This place was hopping around noon when all the workers were off on their lunch break. We ordered the Tony Soprano, the Goddess, and a half order of a chicken salad sandwich. The prices were cheaper than I thought, and we were given a generous amount of food. I wish I could rate the sandwiches separate from the coffee. I've been in here a few times and had the Venus de Milo sandwich (Hummus and Veggies) and it was excellent! However Everytime I've gotten coffee from them I have not cared for it. They use Paul de Lima coffee which I would categorize as 'gas station' coffee as it comes preground and premeasured in little pouches that you just open and dump into your coffee maker! It just tastes stale and NOT GOOD!!! I really want to support local business but Their coffee is just really bad, especially when they charge the same amount as other shops that use organic/locally roasted/ freshly ground coffee (like the Tarot Cafe in the Franklin Building). I find the staff very friendly and accomodating and would recommend the sandwiches (4 stars), but if you like coffee...buy a bottled drink and skip the cafe! read more
