Came in on a beautiful weekend to share a pizza with my dad like we used to when I was kid and they were at their oroginal location the corner of story and white. It was nice to see that they are still connected to the community as they were hosting a car wash. We had a medium combo and a few drinks from their cooler. Pizza crust was nice! It was fluffy and doughy without overwhelming the rest of the slice which was equally delicious! I think they said all their pizzas have 8 slices but didn't verify when ours arrived. We were hungry They have a large parking lot. Place is great for large groups! They did recently move in so it looks like the inside is in transition but overall seems like a place with great bones. I drive pass this place all the time and never noticed it until I saw it on the Yelp feed. A huge stand alone restaurant with a decent parking lot. They seem to be remodeling currently at the moment but the restaurant is open. Two unisex restrooms. They have a lot of seating available. A few tvs around the dining area and a bar with beer. The owner was super friendly and helpful explaining his new specialty items of fresh mussels or fresh clams with linguine and their traditional lasagne. I ordered takeout. Calzone (small): Calzone (3 Toppings) $16.95. A calzone is an Italian oven-baked folded pizza inside dough and topped with cheese and toppings. Fresh ingredients surrounded by cheese & marinara with a crunchy yet fluffy dough. Baked Lasagna: $19.95. Their famous delicious Lasagna. Comes with a side of garlic bread. I used to go to Vito's in Newark many years ago & it was closed. Not sure if this is the same one. Anyway based on the reviews, we decided to stop by. As we know, the first impression is important so we almost turned back when I noticed that it's not done with renovation (my understand it has been relocated). We ordered calzone, they were good nothing so special. The service is amazing. The atmosphere is okay, hope they are making some progress to make this place cool pizza polar! It has lot of potential. Such a great spot with a really fun ambiance, perfect for groups to hang out, chit chat, and spend time together. They even have arcade machines out front which makes the vibe even better. The food was great. We've tried the pizza, wings, calamari, and the pozole, and honestly everything was great. Hands down the BEST pozole ever if you come on the weekend. This is a place that I hold near and dear to my heart, and Robert is still such a kind man, and gives such great service. The pizza and wings come out pretty quick, and the ambiance is wonderful. The workers at the shop are great with the customers. The food, however, can use some improvements. I ordered the Vito's Combo Pizza (size medium) which came out to around $30. Took around 10 minutes to come out, which is fine since the pizza is made to order. For the crust, it was nice and airy, had a good crunch, and a decent charred flavor. Now, the sauce. It needs more flavor. Some garlic, olive oil to bring out the flavor of the tomatoes. And last but not least, the toppings. The vegetables were fine. What surprised me was how ground up the Italian sausage was. I think adding the sausage as chunks rather than specks is a better call; it also needed to be spiced up. Aesthetics wise, the restaurant has enough seating for around 40-50 people. Walls of the shop have several TVs and a couple basic sports memorabilia from the Niners, Raiders, and Cowboys. If the restaurant can kick it up a notch with their seasoning, I think they will draw in more customers. At the moment though, I'd say this is a pretty average pizza place. read more

I only recently discovered the San Jose location as we use to go to the Sunnyvale location then Fremont a very long time ago but they are no longer open. My husband loves pizza so we pretty much eat pizza once a week so I'm constantly looking for pizza places to try. His favorite is NY style. I was on Yelp one day and ran into Vito's pizza SJ and saw all the great reviews so of course we had to go try their pizza. The crust is thin and crispy but the inside is soft and fluffy. Their pizza really is amazing! Vitos has since become one of our favorite pizzas. We've also met the owner Robert a few times while eating there and picking up and he's a really nice guy. What I don't get are some of the bad reviews I've read on here. Some of them seem so made up because I can't even imagine some of the things people are saying based on my great experience there so far. read more

Don't even bother going to this dive of a pizza joint. I show up early for a pick up of my order and pay like usual. The woman took my card and gave me my receipt then went to take care of another customer. I figured I was early and didn't think anything of it. 20 mins later I'm still waiting for my order to be done so I ask if my pizza is ready. The order was on the oven the whole time! I had to check if the calamari was still warm- it was above room temp. I should have checked the rest of the order. 5 min drive home later I see the pizzas have already congealed into a solid piece. The meat lovers was salty with an uneven distribution of meat. The toppings were sparse when they were there but sections of it was bare with just cheese. The crust was flavorless and crunchy. Should have called dominos. The BBQ chicken was even worse. We ordered no onions but was covered in them, green onions, and cilantro? The chicken was an after thought as there was hardly any to be found. The bbq sauce was sparingly swirled around but was bland on top of the marinara sauce. Probably the worse I have ever had The calamari was fishy, extra fishy and by the time I get home room temp. It was rubbery, overly breaded, and very oily.
