RI Food Fight- Lord of the Pies 2024 Review We had tickets to a show at The Ocean Mist. When in the area, why not trade in our coupon for a free slice at Vittoria's. We wanted to keep the baseline so we cashed in on a free cheese slice. We purchased a Grandma's gorgonzola slice and a cannoli. 3. The Cheese slice ( maybe a little too ehavy ahnded with the cheese but could have used a little flavoring- I am just so accustomed to garlic) 2. Grandma's Gorganzola! DELICIOUS! I've been a satisfied customer for many years at this pizzeria. Lately, the crust of the standard New York pizza have been a little doughy for my liking so I decided to get one of their awesome grandma pies. The dough is traditionally, very light and fluffy, crispy and buttery. A true delight. This particular pie came out with a flat soggy crust that in no way, even looked like their traditional grandma pie. I usually skip breakfast on pizza days in order to be extra hungry for my experience. When the pie came to the table, it was obvious that something was terribly wrong. My friend and I definitely ate half of the pie because we were so darn hungry. I brought the other half of the pie to be packed up to the countertop and pointed out the issue to the manager. I carefully explain to him the deficiencies of the cross and he merely said he had no control over how the yeast reacted. Wow... I didn't know how much of a crapshoot pizza dough was to make! Anyway, I wasn't expecting that answer that's for sure! I guess I'll be going to a pizzeria that has a little bit better handle on how to make dough more consistently. They were Nice enough to make spinach calzone 5 min before closing but the calzone was a 1 out of 10. Ordered spinach with chicken. Chicken was ground up fine, disgusting! Ricotta made the whole thing wet and could not pic up. Spinach was tasty but covered only half the calzone. My suggestion twice the spinach if you're gonna put ground chicken, let the customer know because usually grilled chicken is what I would've expected half the ricotta and more mozzarella. read more

Without a doubt the best pizza in the Charlestown area. Absolutely has that NY feel to it. It doesn't hit the highs of Pizza Classica, but it's not too far behind. Delicious pizza, discovered Vittoria's last summer and it's a nice go to for take out on a rainy day. You can order ahead online through the Toast platform (https://order.toasttab.com/online/vittorias-ny-pizza), and you don't need to have a Toast account for it. Just make sure you email the receipt/order number to yourself. Even on a weekend, we were able to place the order and pick it up within 30 minutes and the pizzas were ready for pickup on the warmer. The pizzas were great, a nice balance between the sauce and toppings. With the Margherita, the portion of basil was generous and not small. Same with the added sausage for the medium cheese. The cannoli at $4 for one may seem a lot, but the cannoli is relatively big and packed with filling. There is limited parking by the restaurant, but you may need to park down the road as the restaurant is near other stores and restaurants. Gluten free? Who knew that this unassuming hole in the wall Italian/Pizzeria would create the perfect trifecta of crust, pomodoro sauce and cheese? The Grandma is nothing short of perfection. Last day of camping at Burlingame and I was not about to cook after packing up two cars from two weeks in the woods. I'm so glad I found Vittoria's! Whether it's New Haven or New York style - who cares, the pizza was delicious. Also ordered our favorites: garlic knots (HUGE!!!) and fried mozzarella. Neither were stand out stars, but the pizza was amazing. They also offer slices, which all looked superb. Inside was cute, certainly more suited for takeout as there were only a handful of booths. Service was excellent! The young lady who answered the phone was polite and curious and equally as so when I picked up my food. This is a slice and go location. Walked in checked out what was slinging on the pizza bar. And they tell you what is about to come out of the oven. It was very busy but the line went quickly. Small section of seating is available. Unsure of what kinds to get I asked for recommendations. I love that they also offer the grandma and Sicilian slices as you don't see them often in RI. I am from NY so I tend to be picky about my pizza. For the garlic knots I usually ask for extra cheese and garlic along with red sauce. My husband also loves their spinach wheels! I also really love their cannolis as they are freshly filled upon request. I also tried the gelato they sell and it was really good from New Haven. The portion is sort of small, but it is still tasty. You can certainly dine in here or take out. They do sell beer here such as Peroni or Whalers and a few others. A take on a Sicilian pizza with a light and crunchy crust and simple sauce and mozzarella topping. Delicious! This is my first experience here and I am very picky with my pizza. But this pizza was alright. I personally didn't like that the tomato was coming out near the crust and that there were tomato bits in the actual sauce. Also it's really big. Not complaining though lol. Went here during a visit with friend and was so pleasantly surprised! As a vegan I was looking for dishes not containing any meat, eggs or dairy...but the friends I went with did not have that consideration in mind and were open to all options! I had several choices and I ended up choosing the eggplant parm with no cheese (which was no problem and did not even raise an eyebrow when requested) Meal came with a lovely, fresh salad filled with a variety of veggies and dressing options. Tomato sauce was rich and flavorful and eggplant cooked well. Bread served with garlic/olive oil dipping sauce was delicious. My friend had the chicken francaise--which she said was a melt in your mouth dish that she devoured--no leftovers! Excellent presentation served with pasta and salad. My daughter and I were out driving through Rhode Island on Saturday 8/6/22, stopped by this placed after reading the reviews and WOW what a disappointment. I just think we all need to calm down about the name of this pizza place. Yes, Vittoria's is associated with Vetrano's and Valentino's, and yes, they have the best pizza in Westerly. No, it's not New York style like the name of the business would explicitly imply. However, is it fair to write bad reviews about a restaurant solely because of its name? What's in a name, really? This is Connecticut style pizza--more precisely: this is Wooster Street pizza lifted out of New Haven and placed on Post Road in southern Rhode Island. The other locations for some reason do not have the same quality pizza as the others, and I attribute this to A) the oven and B) the staff. I haven't strayed too far on the actual menu (I usually stick with their pizza, calzones and rolls), but I can tell you that their Antipasto Italiano is delicious if you get the balsamic dressing on the side and dress it yourself. Now, my Grandmother was from Sicily, and she used to make pizza. The menu description of the Grandma Pizza is as follows: "This pizza was first made in Long Island about 45 years ago. Everyone's grandma back in Southern Italy makes a delicious pizza with bread left over dough,adding few simple, delicious ingredients. We brought it here with Pasquale's twist, it's considered one of the town's favorite. Fresh mozzarella, crushed tomatoes, EVOO and pan cooked, old school." It may be one of the town's favorite, but it isn't one of mine. You can definitely find better Southern Italian pizza in Southern Italy than in Westerly, but it wasn't the worst thing I've ever eaten. I have yet to try their Chicken Parmesan, but I have a feeling it will be great, since I know they can make a decent marinara. In sum, stick to the pizza, get over the name, and be careful of the exotic stuff and you have the chance to eat Pepe's style pizza in a Southern Rhode Island shopping center. read more
