Questionable lemon pastry and moldy mango under
    Mila S.

This place was great, new. All the pastries were delicious. Unfortunately, they started to cover all the pastries in a chocolate layer not realizing that the pastry underneath is molding. I don't know if I will ever return due to trust issues. I should have suspected this, getting there on a beautiful Sunday, the place wasn't nearly as full as usual, plenty of parking around. Just a couple months ago I had to wait for people to leave or park far way. Sad...

Checked out the trendy croissant pizza at Viva La Dough's kosher pop-up in the Macy's Herald Square Holiday Market--definitely a unique holiday season find! The croissant base is incredibly crispy and flaky, super buttery with that laminated texture you expect from good croissant dough (looks like it's premade but assembled and topped fresh). I went for the eggplant (roasted peppers/veggies) and the margherita basil. The pizza flavors are solid and classic, and the flaky croissant dough pairs nicely with the cheese and toppings for a fun hybrid vibe. My only gripe: the toppings came across a little too salty--if they dialed back the seasoning a bit, it'd be spot-on. These are pretty hefty and rich; one whole pie is heavy and filling, so definitely share or opt for a half if possible. Great as a indulgent market treat, but not something you'd want to eat solo without getting super full. Plan for a wait--about 15 minutes even without much of a line, since they bake the filling fresh on-site and service can be a tad slow. Perfect if you're strolling the market with time to spare, but not ideal if you're rushing. Worth trying once for the novelty, especially during the holidays!

I stopped by this new bakery and was really touched by how special it felt. The pastries are shaped like little fruits and you can tell how much care goes into them. Loved the experience thanks Leah!!!

The pain au chocolat just came out of the oven and was so light and delicate but buttery and flaky.

First time coming in person (I have been spoiled and a fantastic coworker would bring in different…read moretreats from here on occasion). The space is relatively small, with a line inside and outside and a few tables outside. The length of the line and wait time varies based on the time of day and if you go on a weekday vs weekend. Go early if you don't want them to sell out of anything or purposely go a little later if you want one of their lunch sandwiches on focaccia. I have had the tomato and garlic focaccia twice now and each time it has been exceptional. Minor critique, the slices of garlic could be a bit smaller. I also had the shakshuka focaccia which is divine and I would absolutely recommend both. I need to come back to try their sandwiches as well. I am not a sweets person, but everyone I know loves their pastries. Getting someone a gif tcard here makes for a great gift.

I'm usually more of a savory girlie but all the sweet items we tried were great, especially the rhubarb croissant and the earl grey morning bun. I really enjoyed the focaccia sandwiches (smoked salmon and pea/mint/feta were elite) and the artichoke green garlic slice. The flavor of the sesame stirato was excellent but the bread itself was a tad too chewy for the filling we got with it (tuna salad), so that style probably works better with the jambon beurre. Will definitely be on the rotation whenever I'm in the city -- would love to try some of their seasonal/limited edition items one day, though not sure if I have it in me to brave the lines that can form on the weekends, lol! We'll see :)

Radio Bakery... is perfection. I completely understand the line…read more I first ordered the heirloom tomato & feta sandwich, which was unbelievable. It is so clear that they use incredibly high-quality ingredients and carefully curate each component, which is exactly why everything comes together in such an elevated way. The tomatoes reminded me of the ones I grew in my garden during California summers as a teenager. Perfectly salted, layered over soft, not-too-tart feta. The focaccia was made with beautiful olive oil and, while a bit chewier than I usually prefer, gave the sandwich a satisfying bite. I had to close my eyes while eating it just to savor it. The chocolate cherry almond croissant... wow. Such a creative combination, and it did not disappoint. Soft, buttery, and filled with a sour cherry compote that reminded me of a cherry cordial from a box of chocolates. 5/5. Hainsley, who helped me, was exceptionally lovely. Everyone even in line was very nice, the vibes were awesome. I'll definitely be back to try the spicy tofu sandwich and the heirloom tomato tart!

While they didn't have their full selection available, there were still plenty of pastries to choose from. We ended up getting the vanilla kouign amann and the chocolate PB&J croissant. The kouign amann was flaky, buttery, and beautifully caramelized. The chocolate PB&J croissant was easily our favorite. It was filled with rich, decadent chocolate and a layer of jelly that balanced everything out without making it overly sweet. My significant other hasn't stopped talking about it since! We're already looking forward to coming back to try more.
