Pasta Fresca is one of those places that reminds you why Brooklyn's Italian food scene is legendary. If you go, do not leave without trying the stuffed sfogliatelle. The cheesesteak version and the sausage and peppers version were absolutely incredible - crispy on the outside, packed with flavor, and unlike anything I've had before. The rice balls were enormous and perfectly cooked, with an amazing texture and flavor. Everything we tried was fresh, consistent, and clearly made with care. I picked up an 11th Ave. hero, a prosciutto bread, sausage and broccoli rabe Savory Sfogliatella, lemon drop cookies and the PB&J layer cookies. Half of my order was gone before I got home. Only giving 1 star because we ordered a Dyker Heights sandwich and the chicken cutlet in the sandwich was rock hard. You couldn't even chew it. We were first time and last tme customers. I guess the person serving us didn't know us, so he gave us the leftover, rock hard chicken cutlets. read more

Best ravioli in town and the potato egg dish is divine. Eggplant parmesan is as tall as the Empire State Building, dripping with flavor. The meatballs are so good I'd leave my grandmothers table every Sunday to have these. I'm only disappointed by one fact, they are closed on Mondays. read more

For the first time I went into this store. I knew I wanted to make the short ride here because I heard so many good things about it. I follow a few people on IG that had pictures of the beautiful food they prepare. SO let me say I originally went in for the potatoes and eggs. I mentioned I was never here before and saw a review from Brooklynbites on IG. The owner immediately introduced himself, gave me some fried zucchini..(which is cooked perfectly without being soggy), which I think is fantastic and makes you feel comfortable. No stuck up store proprietor here! I got picked a small hero bread for my husband's sandwich and it was warm and soft. Thought it just came from the bakery...uh no way, they make their own bread, rolls, cookies everything! He says"come on let's go I'll show you our kitchen." I get a tour of a clean kitchen, more then one, bread was done on its own. It was great to see Charlie and the pride he has for his business. Since I was there for the first time and saw PF on IG he then says go get a loaf of bread and he also gave me his famous lemon cookies. Worth the trip alone! I shared with my neighbors when I got home. They are light, cakey, lemony but not over powering. Wonderful with a nice cup of tea or coffee or just talking outside with neighbors. A perfect lemon drop cookie in my opinion. I bought meat filled rice balls, chicken pasta and broccoli for my dinner later. I got my husband a chicken cutlet broccoli rabe mozz sandwich with balsamic glaze. He loooved it!!! Chicken cutlets were perfectly done, not tough so he buys quality chicken. The potatoes and eggs has onions in it. Also a winner! I felt like I've been going to this store for years! Worth the ride from wherever you are. Trying the pasta next time. How do you rate a store that has great products but an owner with a shocking attitude? I suppose you take both into consideration. For that reason, I rate this store much lower than it deserves. "... we can offer... delicious products in a friendly environment." Only part of that statement is true. Their food is delicious, so one point for telling the truth. But the older man who works here is ANYTHING but friendly, so I'm taking that point right back. The older man has been unjustifiably nasty to me and my family in the past. My father once asked for a plastic container to put his desserts in and the old guy responded by sucking his teeth and saying my father is a drunk. The kicker for me was when I ordered cold cuts, then wanted to order one more thing and he yelled at me, "now you wait!" and stomped over to the register. I was so confused! Is there a cold cut maximum? I walked out of there and left the food behind. I wasn't eating his negative energy! I've since been in here twice in about 3 years. I went in because I saw he wasn't there (don't judge me). I felt guilty both times. To be fair, the Hispanic looking gentlemen who worked the counter couldn't be more pleasant. And the sons have always been nice to me (great food at their restaurant next door). They also have the best cannolis I've tasted (tied with Grandmas Bakery on 73rd and 13th Ave) with smooth filling, not that gritty stuff. But this is the problem with poor customer service, it's been a while and I still remember that poor treatment. I know people that simply will not go in here based on their own experiences. A big thank you to the Rao family, we had the most wonderful bridal shower on July 28 at Mama Rao's with the help of Sal, Tommy and their amazing staff. The food was incredible. Charlie at Pasta Fresca provided the most delicious and amazing food for guests at my home. They have provided catering throughout the year as we had to postpone so many times due to the pandemic. We had a family over on the day they were supposed to married and then when they got married in October, only immediate family. We had a backyard gathering catered by Pasta Fresca.
