Best potato tacos of my life AND they're vegan. I'm in love with the tacos here and I've been here once a week since I've found them. My faves are definitely the POTATO, the ZUCCHINI, and the CAULIFLOWER. Safe to say that I'm obsessed. I've never had vegan food like this. Every taco is different and so flavorful. The ingredients are fresh and delicious. Add the habanero salsa for a good kick. Don't forget a drink! They're super refreshing and not super sweet. Wow I recently discovered Viva La Vegan on Yelp and just need to know where their tacos have been all my life? By this point, I am pretty sure that I have consumed all of the vegan tacos the Los Angeles has to offer, but none can compare to those of Viva La Vegan. On certain days of the week, a dope little hot dog cart is set up in front of Bow Tiki tattoo shop where vegan magic is made. They offer a generous selection of taco options to choose from. I really wanted to try all of them but stuck to only two. They don't use gmo's or gross oils in their foods which leaves you feeling light after you eat. I chose to order one potato taco and one mushroom taco with Mexican style quinoa (not rice which is awesome) and beans. The tacos were legit art. They were so beautiful that I did not want to eat them. The tortillas were slightly crispy so that they held all of the delicious filling perfectly. My only regret is not trying all of the flavors. They also make incredible drinks that are very lightly sweetened. The blackberry pineapple limeade is to die for. Lastly, the ambiance of this place is insane. Talk about good vibes all the way. They have lots of seating, whether it's in a cop bus in front of the shop, in the shop itself or outside. What a gem Viva La Vegan is! The owners are absolute hospitable angels. Yessss! So so happy to have vegan tacos in this area! My parents live here and I can't tell you how many times i have to drive out to different places closer to LA just to get my vegan fix in! Once I saw this place on Yelp, I had to try!! I was shocked to find out it was right across the street from 7/11 and then found out it was a little taco cart outside a shop. The owners own both the shop and the cart! They were amazing people-very friendly! My first order was the PAPI DULCE (sweet potato taco) and NOPA ULIE (cactus taco). DELICIOUS! I got them both spicy, and I have to say, the spicy sauces and all the toppings are what made these taco perfect! Like I mentioned before, it's a taco cart, so you get to watch the chef make your vegan tacos! I went again the next week and got the cactus taco again, and this time tried the CALI FLORES (cauliflower-I'm a HUGE fan of cauliflower and always make dishes at home) and I LOVED this just as much! Everything has been so good! I love how season they are and again, the sauces just really put the taco together! I also ordered their limeade drinks both times. It's only $2 and they offer free refills, how can you not?! You'll find this taco cart right next to their cart, literally across the street from that doctors office near 7/11. If you have time to chill, check out their cute little shop as well! Great vibes and delicious food! So glad to have found this place. We got the hula tacos, bow Thai, la setas tacos, and the quesadillas (in the "secret" menu). Liz and George run the bow tiki and the delicious truck. Bobby on the grill, rocks it out. Honestly this is a gem and a must try. The tacos are authentic and vegan. Each taco is packed with flavor. The hula taco is more for the pineapple and bbq lovers. Very succulent and delicious. The bow Thai tacos was seriously full of love. Spicy, crunchy, and overflowing with the amazing Indian fusion flavors. The setas tacos were definitely something else. IS THERE A WAY TO GIVE-- like... 100 STARS?!?! OK, I know there isn't... But there should be for this place because the food and the people are amazing!! I happened upon these tacos "accidentally." Long story short, I had four different tacos, not sure which ones. But after looking at photos of the menu I don't think it matters which one you get... They ALL sound amazing. The ones that I had were LEGIT the best thing I have put in my mouth in probably about 15 years. At first, I turned down the tacos because I eat clean. So I pretty much don't eat from trucks or most restaurants because they don't live up to my standards lol. Then I was told what ISN'T in the tacos and that they are vegan, so I decided to try them. BEST. DECISION. EVER. I am so disappointed I didn't know this place was here before now!! What infuriates me is that this same day, the city decided to go through some pretty shady efforts to get them shut down (?!?!). All these people were trying to do on this particular day was sell tacos to make some money for a wonderful nonprofit organization that they have started. Great people making GREAT food to raise money for a great cause. Damn the man! And side note-- since they had all that food and couldn't sell it, they cooked it anyway and walked around giving it out to hungry and homeless individuals in nearby areas. 5 MORE STARS. These tacos have the traditional fried tortilla that's both parts crunchy and soft for the perfect bite. We tried their mushroom taco, sweet potato taco, potato taco, and one of their jackfruit tacos. They have super snazzy names that I wish I could remember. The tacos are delicious and extremely flavorful. They come fully loaded with a fresh cabbage and cilantro blend and are topped with sour cream. Their habanero salsa is the perfect final touch.
