The food here is absolutely amazing. My favorite items are the pumpkin curry with soy fish and pad see ew with soy beef. The service here was amazing with plenty of seating in the building. The staff here is very friendly and have great recommendations.

The love for Lotus Vegan, knows no limits. This warm inviting restaurant has been part of my life since even before I made L.A.'s iconic San Fernando Valley my home. I've been lucky enough to enjoy this place with so many amazing people including family, chosen family, colleagues and with my special someone. Chef Elle, her crew and fam are beyond super cool people who serve up possibly the best plant-based, vegan, Thai and Asian fusion eats you'll ever enjoy. From dinner to dessert, lunch or brunch (on weekends). You can find yourself partaking in a variety of dishes in North Hollywood, off Lankershim Blvd between Kling Street and Blix Street. Easy parking in their shared lot or on the street. If entering from the parking lot at the back door, you'll pass the restrooms along the way to the main area. If entering from the front you'll see their outdoor seating. Dining outside is really nice when the weather is good, but dining inside my favorite. I've had soooo many dishes over the years and most recently one of my favorites, their Pepper Steak Wrap w/ fries for my birthday meal w/ my dear friend Shaun. I spent Valentine's day here with my guy. Had group meals here with him and others. Even have taken my mom and sister here twice this year because they're obsessed and none of them are vegan. But we all know good food is good food. And when it's made with love and care, it shines with flare. Seating inside is cozy, like dining in a place that feels like home, deep dark woodsy intimate decor w/ hints of brightness. All the starters are sensational, however the Drumsticks, Hot Wings, Lettuce Wrappetizer, Quesadilla, Fresh Rolls, Crispy Chicken, Grilled Potatoes and most recently their Fried Lemon Shrimps are all ones I'd recommend. Curry all day! Yellow, Panang and Jungle are my guilty pleasures. The Dumpling Curry is one of the few I haven't tried, but that will change in the future ;) For noodles, yas Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Garlic Spaghetti, Chow Mein or Kung Pao Spaghetti. Lentil, Chicken, Cowboy, Spicy Chicken, Tofu Scramble and of course Pepper Steak for wraps. Big burger fan across the board, though the Cowboy and Chicken are top tier for me. Combination Rice (obsessed), Pineapple Rice (the best), Spicy Fried (fuego) and Vegetable are all unforgettable. Lotus has savory sweet delicious pancakes including classic style, chocolate chip and pineapple. Desserts for days (cakes, cookies, frozen things, deep fried oreos and more). Taking bites of my raw vegan Blueberry Cheesecake little by little to savory all the flavor #BirthdayCake Great Main Dishes (Orange Chicken so good), Beverages (Thai Iced Coffee, top pick), Sides and Sauces. L.V. has incredible specials and deals throughout the week for lunch and dinner especially. Available for dine in, takeout/pick up or delivery. Open Tuesday through Sunday every week. 11:30AM - 3:30PM, then again 4:30PM - 9:30PM Holidays and special ocassion hours sometimes may vary. Make your food experience wonderful and merry anytime of the year, but definitely this time of year at Lotus Vegan.

WOW! I just finished my leftovers and I am wanting more. I have always passed by this spot and last night I placed a take out order. This exceeded my expectations they have nailed down the flavors textures and spice levels!!! The service was quick and very friendly! I need to run it back with my order bc it was spicy, savory, sweet and tangy! I need to dine in next bc it was so cute and homey on the inside. The orange chicken was so perfect- crispy, saucy, and the next day still maintained the crisp on outside despite being coated in sauce! It balanced out with my papaya salad and tom kha soup, which I added spice to but also had that citrus notes to is as well. FYI - the spicy levels are legit. They use fresh Thai chillies not that dried flakes. So spicy is legit spicy and I can handle my spice. So I def can go for medium level next time but I don't mind spice!Regardless, the spice doesnt take away the flavor of the dish which I loved. The papaya salad was so refreshing it has garlic the tang and the crunchiness from the fresh papaya. Tom kha was super comforting on a cold night. Very well balanced and I'm def ordering that again! They were very nice and attentive. They gave me a Thai iced tea and I think they may have known it was my first time or knew I was gonna need a thai iced tea to wash down that spice level i requested! Which was perfectly balanced the Thai iced tea was not too sweet and still creamy! I can't wait to go back!!!

The hype is real! I've had some good vegetarian food but this was above and beyond! Very nice chill environment with 70s soul music playing, easy to have a nice conversation. Service was prompt and no pressure. The owner is lovely. And the food hits on all fronts flavorwise. The orange broccoli was perfectly battered and lightly fried. My tom kha was so comforting, especially on a rainy day, and the soy chicken and mushrooms were plentiful. My friends also liked their pad woon sen and vegetarian fried rice. There's so many other dishes I'd like to try next time. Free parking is in the lot to the left of the restaurant with the gate!

Came here with my friend and we FELL IN LOVE with this place!!! the food is insanely good. My friend doesn't typically eat vegan food but is always willing to try it for me. We both had a hard time believing some of the dishes were plant-based bc the taste was so flavorful and rich in a way the animal-based versions often are. The cheesecake was especially delicious. The owner was such a sweetheart. You can tell he put a lot of love and care into his food and the establishment. I look forward to going back again and trying more things on the menu!

I am not usually vegan so I am not sure how other vegan joints are to compare, however this place was so good! Started the the coconuts soup- 8/10 Orange chicken 8/10 Pad Thai 8/10 Mango rice 9/10 with it had more sauce. Cute presentation Honestly, if I didn't know I walked into a vegan spot, I'd never be able to tell by the taste. Everything tasted good!! Service was also good.

great to see an asian vegan restaurant in the area! i was more impressed by the entrees than the starters. starters: the spring rolls were pretty standard, but the peanut sauce was separating, and i thought it was weird the sauces were served in plastic containers. the dumplings themselves were good, but i couldn't get behind the sweet soy sauce they used. entrees: the spicy basil noodles aka drunken noodles were bomb! i got the spiciest level, and i will say they delivered on the spice for sure. i enjoyed the fake chicken with it, it has a nice texture and was seasoned well. the pumpkin curry was also very good. i was surprised i liked the mock fish as much as i did! would come again!!

A gem in NOHO! How did we not come here sooner?! We came here this past Tuesday. It was a perfect place for a foodie couple like us and for our son who is a picky eater. We loved that it was a vegan Thai restaurant and noticed (by their anniversary flyer special) that today is their 17 year anniversary. That's amazing! We got the STIR FRY VEGETABLES W/ TOFU & MISO SOUP (for me), BROCOLLI WITH MUSHROOMS & SALAD (for my husband), and IMPOSSIBLE BURGER WITH FRIES (for my son). All had great portions and was delicious! My son ate everything and was raving about the cheese on the burger and the crispy fries. For appetizer, we got the HOT WINGS which was their bestseller. It had a good heat from the sauce, paired well with their ranch, and great meaty texture. This was hearty and filling. Yumm! Still can't believe that ranch was vegan. It had a great buttermilk taste to it. Service was great! They checked in on us consistently. I was curious about their PEPPER STEAK because of the garlic cilantro sauce (I ended up ordering the hot wings instead). The owner was kind enough to give us a sample. So nice! I got to meet the other owner, Elle, and her daughter. It was a pleasure to meet them. We connected over the joys and challenges of motherhood. The restaurant itself was warm, spacious, and inviting with wooden elements accented with colorful flowers. There's ample parking in the lot next to Lotus Vegan. The owner came out to tell us about the lot, but we had already paid for metered street parking ($2 for 2 hours). It is this kind of thoughtfulness from start to finish + delicious food are the reasons why they deserve an accolade for 17 years and thriving. We look forward to coming back! And next time I'll try their curries. Put Lotus Vegan on your list and check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Had this place a couple of weeks ago and it was incredible. My husband got the Thai boat noodles which were pretty good. I get vegan orange chicken anywhere I can find it and this one is now in my top 3. The texture is nice and the breading and sauce are perfect. We also got a fried rice to go. They use a purple rice I think? It's delicious and hearty. Server was so nice and he had some great suggestions!

I'm super lucky to live very close by and shamefully don't visit here enough. However, every time I do it exceeds my expectations! The wide selection is detrimental to my indecisive self, but I get to try something new each time which is definitely a win! Everything I've had so far has been amazing and I'm looking forward to exploring more. Oh, and supporting local is cool too!

I was already driving back when I was called at 9:30. I arrived at 9:38. I called again at 9:47 to ask if my meal was touched
    Stephanie G.

I didn't think I would rate this place after my experience, but I decided to do so because maybe I can help someone not go through the hassle of taking the wrong order without them noticing--even after questioning them if it was the ONE and ONLY order next to my Thai tea. I tried Lotus Vegan for the first time last Wednesday. I was craving Pad See Ew, and I always get tofu for protein since I am a vegetarian, and I tend to keep vegan restaurants on my radar, lol. I don't live in the area, but I was shopping nearby and I thought this vegan Thai restaurant seemed perfect to satisfy my craving. I called for take-out at 8:44pm and was told it would be ready in about 20 minutes. I arrived in 15, but it took me a couple of minutes to find parking, so it was close to 20. When I arrived I was warmly greeted by a man who told me they in fact, had parking on the lot a few steps away. Great to know, but I wasn't sure if the parking was theirs and some people were in the way. He told me to take a seat, gave me my check, I signed it and waited. There was an order by the register, which I assumed was mine, and thought he would bring my Thai tea next. When he came out with my Thai tea, I said "thank you" and asked "Is this mine?" while pointing to the bag along with the Thai tea. He said yes, so I grabbed it and said "Have a good night" on my way out. He didn't reply after that, but I didn't think anything of it since he was talking to a costumer who was dining in. Never did I imagine that was NOT my food! It took me about 10 minutes to get to the Target store by Victory and Laurel Canyon. First thing I noticed when I opened the bag is I was not given a fork! I had planned to eat in my car, so that was a bummer, but the food I saw was even a bigger bummer because it was not Pad See Ew! I then checked the receipt and realized it was a Spicy Eggplant dish and I'd rather have sweet instead of spicy any day, so I started driving back to the place and a few more minutes went by when I received a call from them (around 20 minutes after I left). I answered and the first thing the man said was "Where are you?!" I told him I was already driving there because the food I got was not mine and he said "I never said that was your order", so I reminded him I asked and he said "YES", then he proceeded to tell me ONLY the Thai tea was mine. I did not see any miscommunication on my end, and I never thought this would happen, but UNFORTUNATELY misunderstandings happen. Upon arrival, he told me to park in the lot, took the spicy eggplant meal from me through the back of the restaurant and brought me my actual order. I then apologized to him (since he hadn't said he was sorry for the misunderstanding and from what I sensed from him, it was my fault) and he said it was okay. He was not rude, but it felt awkward. Now, the reasons I'm not giving this place more than 3 stars: My meal was average. I've had better and to be honest, I did not enjoy it (I threw half of it away) because I doubted whether he had already given it to the other person whose meal I had taken, even though he said no. I thought it was sketchy he took my "incorrect" meal through the back, and it was near closing time, and the other person was probably waiting for it. Also, the fact it took him around 20 minutes to realize I had taken the wrong order, when it was the ONLY order that hadn't been picked up, plus mine which was not ready yet, seemed odd. He called me at 9:30, which means my order took 46 minutes instead of 20 and it took him 20 to realize I was gone with the wrong order. That doesn't make sense. Lastly, the poor wording when he called me to drive back, which I was already doing. Maybe it would be helpful to ask for a name and keep track of time with peoples' orders. I took the only one that was there, along with the Thai tea which was placed next to it, assuming it was mine since I arrived on time. I could have been told "Here's your Thai tea, your order is taking longer than expected, but I'll let you know when it's ready", instead of giving me a simple "yes". Even though it was no one's fault, I should have been spoken to in a better manner.

Hi there, yes you can order through postmates, I believe they have a 3.99 delivery fee.

The roti was highly recommended, and although I've enjoyed roti before, nothing has come close to this version. It was incredibly delicious--light, buttery, and perfectly flaky, with delicate layers that practically melted in my mouth. The accompanying dipping sauce complemented it beautifully. I'm a big fan of drunken noodles, but the version served here was truly exceptional--the best I've ever had. The flavors were rich, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. Our server was attentive, patient, and genuinely kind, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. To top it all off, the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. I would happily return and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an outstanding meal.

I thought it was too sweet for me and it didn't taste like most Pad Thais I've had or come to expect, but it was still okay. Veggie Rolls - This is pretty much salad/lettuce in a spring roll, and the peanut sauce is what makes it delicious. Not very large or filling, but good if you want some side greens. If you have a peanut allergy, skip these because they're kinda boring without the sauce. Panang Curry with Filet Mignon and added Japanese Pumpkin - This was a good dish! The steak was cooked a little too well for my liking, but it was generous in portion and the sauce was really flavorful. I was glad I added the pumpkin. Filet Mignon Pho - Not my favorite pho ever, but I liked that they offered Thai and Vietnamese options. When I ordered online, I didn't see in the description that it included bean sprouts or basil and that I had to order them for $2 each. I like my pho with every dang thing, so I spent the extra $4. The items did already come with the pho, plus I got an extra bag that I didn't really need to order. The steak was thinly sliced and tender, I just wish there was more of it. Salmon Rolls - These are pretty heavy, the fresh salmon is fried on the outside and rare on the inside. They come with a few dipping sauces, including a spicy mustard that I liked. Thai Tea Caramel Creme - This is honestly the reason I order from here. I am a damn fiend for Thai Tea-flavored desserts, and I crave this one all the time. It has a rich, velvety texture and a strong Thai tea flavor. I have thought of stopping by just to order this, and I probably will. Our orders have always been ready on time, although I can't speak for any dining-in experience, and I think it's a little pricier than other Thai restaurants. The website is just a little wonky... I like that everything is customizable in just about every way, and there are pictures of most items, but the pho order wasn't clear about what it would come with, and some of the upcharges are higher than they should be. However, I will come back for that Thai tea dessert because I've fallen in love.

Heads up! This is neither bad nor good- but you should know- the Pad Thai recipe has changed…read more Now granted, Pad Thai is known as the dish that will guarantee vary from place to place cause it's street food, right? But there is a key variable- it can either be the browner version or the redder version (Pad Thai fans know what I mean). Anajak (if you're an LA local) is the 'browner' version for context. Authentic Central Thai Pad Thai is actually light golden brown, not red. The natural brown color comes from the caramelization of palm sugar combined with tamarind pulp and fish sauce. Many restaurants- especially in Western countries- use ketchup and paprika and a chili paste as a shortcut to add both sweetness, tang, and bright red color. I can't say that's specifically what happened here- but the grainy grit of the sauce plus the color and sweetness was not the best. Rustic Spoon used to serve the browner version- you'll see it in the photos listed above from as recently as a year ago. I visited recently and discovered they've switched to the redder version. I'm not a fan personally- flavor, texture, etc. But if you love it- that's good news for you- but if you a fan of RS, they changed the recipe about 3 months ago. I switched my order to a Pad See Ew after noticing - and they were gracious and kind about it (which is why I didn't go hard in my stars review)- however the Pad See Ew wasn't flavorful, and lacked Wok Hei, it gave bland rice noodle, steam broccoli and a separately fried (unseasoned egg) thrown together quickly in a wok- no curation of flavors at all. Sigh. I'm not inclined to be a complainer at all, and don't fancy myself a tough customer at all- and compliment as highly and loudly as I critique... But in the age of inflation and local businesses struggling- I am happy to financially support- and just hope they're happy to meet me in the middle with a good meal, made with care and attention. That wasn't the case here. There are a lot of options for Thai in the Valley- I'll have to go elsewhere.

Alex himself took my order and the food came out pretty quickly and fast. I was very hungry so I got 2 main entrées and their regular small salad with peanut dressing. Ordered their Pad See Ew with beef & shrimp that also came with well cooked broccoli. I also got their crab fried rice and stayed with my water. Both entrees were cooked really well and were hot & tasty. My only complaint was that the beef was a bit overcooked and hard to chew. A lot of to-go orders and delivery/pick up by 3rd parties. Place was SPOTLESS CLEAN, including their gender neutral restroom. They also had nice decor all around. I really enjoyed my lunch and the portions being HUGE, took the rest home for my son to eat. Parking shared with 100 businesses:-) Thank you Alex & Noodle Monster!

Their Thai iced coffee is SO GOOD. It's pretty sweet, but had lots of strong coffee to offset the sweetness a bit. The gyoza and the shrimp rolls were amazing! Also loved the sauces they were served with. For my main I got the Pad woon sen and I felt like it lacked flavor. The chicken was also pretty dry and there wasn't much of it on the plate. Their menu is so big I would definitely come back and give it another try! Food was ready super fast. Great for take out or dine in!

Stopped by craving pho and happened to find this place on Google Maps. Tried the pork spring roll…read morewhich was refreshing and included a decent amount of meat, vege, and vermicelli. Beef pho hit the spot, perfect temp broth to wilt the herbs and sprouts, savory flavor, and tasty meats. The taco was a surprising hit, beef was the same from the pho topped with pickled onions. Must have with a spritz of lime and sriracha. Service was great, server was helpful, and friendly. Talked about the specials and took care of the rest. The restaurant has a charming fresh feel, nice decor and ample seating for groups. It was a little warm this summer afternoon but in all honesty it kinda added to the ambiance and reminded me a little of eating in Hanoi. All-in-all happy with my dining experience and will gladly add Lotus & Light in my pho round up.

I have ordered here multiple times and i keep getting screwed over on takeout orders. I dont know…read moreif the cook just sucks or its management's orders but when you order a banh mi, it comes with jalapenos. I even verified with the girl on the phone when placing the order i wanted jalapenos. The banh mi has no jalapenos, half the sandwich is daikon and carrots with a cucumber and the thinnest layer of overcooked beef on top. I ordered last month 2 banh mi and egg rolls. Banh mi had no jalapenos either, the egg rolls were missing lettuce wraps and the sauce was half the to go container. I've eaten here in person and received lettuce when eating in the restaurant, their yelp photos show lettuce wraps with the egg rolls. But every time i ordered egg rolls for takeout it is missing lettuce wraps. The one time i ordered and got the lettuce wraps with egg rolls, i had to explicitly tell them to add it that time. I thought this placed served the food as it should be in their culture? I've held back leaving a bad review of this place because i thought they would somehow improve or it was a one off mistake but this was the final straw. Consistently screwing up or intentionally holding back ingredients on takeout orders crazy. How much are you actually saving by with holding lettuce, sauce, and jalapenos??? This place used to be good, now it's just another above average spot. If you want banh mi, go somewhere else and be less disappointed.

How does one determine that a Japanese restaurant is fantastic? First you start with the ambience, then you start with a selection of the menu, then you look at the presentation of each plate and dish and the creative reiteration of that dish. At Taisho which is located in the heart of the Valley in Sherman Oaks, is a wonderful restaurant with great creativity and presentation and ambience... And it hits all the marks of a truly wonderful Japanese restaurant. This restaurant is so good that even living in Orange County, what desires to go back into the valley, which is quite a jaunt. We occasionally go to the valley for family and friends and events... And from now on, we will be stopping by this wonderful Japanese restaurant. I'm going to post some pictures and let the pictures speak for themselves. If you're ever in the valley, you gotta make this one of your stops.

Long story short, my wife was starting to sweat so she wanted to be inside with some A/C. So far, so good. Our waiter was so awesome, but it was his first day, so understandably, he made a couple of very minor mistakes that were easily fixed. He brought out a dish we did not order (which he swapped for the correct one) and he forgot to bring the cocktail that my wife ordered. Again, no big deal. Now... the food. If you are looking for a sushi restaurant, this is not for you. They do have some sushi, but it is very limited, and frankly the options they did have were wildly overpriced. Selling salmon sashimi for $40 is a huge ask. As for the atmosphere, it's a pretty sharp looking space, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but they leave all the windows and doors open at all times, so if it's a warm evening, you're going to be hot even if you sit outside. Also, the music gets progressively louder as nightfall progresses, so it can be tough to have a conversation without shouting. Bottom line, if you're looking for a good sushi spot, there are half a dozen other places within walking distance that are, in my opinion, much better. If you're looking for a wider variety of Japanese cuisine, and have a few hundred extra dollars lying around, then go ahead and give Taisho a try.
