I went to this place because my previous dentist messed up a filling and I had extreme pain around the tooth. The office is clean and really nice. The ladies at the front desk were really sweet and even reminded me to check in on Yelp for my free Starbucks gift card! The girl who took my ex rays was very patient and thorough. Dr. Hovsepyan saw me right away, looked at my teeth and explained my options. I didn't feel rushed at all. She didn't try to sell me on extra work and did a little drilling to relieve the pressure on my tooth. So far so good so I think it might have actually worked. She didn't charge me for the drilling and the exam was only $50, which is nice when you don't have insurance. I will go back there if I have any more issues. Thanks guys! Despite having hundreds of clients who come to their office often, they'll still remember you and treat you like family. I was surprised to see that in my second visit, they remembered me which says a lot about a business and shows they value each and every client. I'm the worst at remembering names, but the young lady at the front desk is one of the kindest people you'll meet and the dental staff are incredibly inviting, kind and mannered. So glad I found Dr. Gohar! She is AMAZING and her staff is GREAT too!. I went to her for a 2nd opinion. My dentist of 25 years, told me I my only option to fix the discoloration of my front tooth, as the nerve was dead, was to have a crown. Dr Gohar gave me another option, to have the tooth internally whitened. I decided to try the internal beaching! She made me feel comfortable and was very gentle during the procedure. It took a little over an hour and the end results were beautiful! The discolored tooth now matches my other teeth, almost perfectly. I am so grateful Dr Gohar was able to give me another option, to the nightmare of having a crown on my front tooth. It saved me a lot of money and the end results are incredible. When I arrived I was told by the dentist that she only likes easy ortho clients because it's not her specialty and that my daughter could get invisiline or go to another dental office. All that is great and her choice but it could have saved me a lot of effort and time if I was told that upfront before coming in. I'm not fond of my time being wasted. So I'll start by saying I'd never had braces and my top teeth were straight with a little crowding down below. It didn't really bother me aesthetically, but with time and age, I started to grind my teeth, for which I started wearing a fitted night guard. I have also had migraines starting in college, and had read that grinding can cause them in some people. It wasn't until after I graduated grad school that I started to sense a correlation between skipping wearing my night guard and getting a migraine that day. I also started continually chipping my two front teeth as my grinding problem was worsening, creating an almost unbearable sensitivity to the point that eating anything with lemon would make me shiver for days. I decided to take the plunge and get Invisalign after seeing Dr. Hovsepyan. They scanned my teeth, ordered custom trays, and on my start date, added 15 attachments to my teeth(which were removed after 7months of treatment), after which I had 10 weeks of "fine tuning." The trays weren't painful like some people have stated online. Only maybe the first one or two, since my teeth were not accustomed to moving. After that it was smooth sailing. It took some getting used to wearing them constantly, but it was really cool to track the progress. (They create a little video of the step by step progress you should see each week). The most amazing part? I didn't have a SINGLE MIGRAINE during Invisalign therapy. I really wish that I had realized the correlation earlier on between grinding my teething and migraines because I would have saved myself years of suffering from persistent migraines that sometimes lasted days. I'm so grateful to Dr. Hovsepyan and for being able to live my life no longer plagued with constant pain. If you're on the fence about fixing your teeth, please realize that it's not just an aesthetic problem! I've never had braces, so I don't know how they compare, but regardless of what route you take, don't delay! read more

Had a great experience! I was looking to fix up my smile before my wedding so I came to Viva Smile. My normal dentist is great but they only have a periodontist come once a month and I was looking into getting a gingivectomy and possibly some bonding/veneers ASAP. I saw Dr. Hovsepyan for a consultation and booked an appointment for the near future. They had an opening earlier than I originally scheduled so I was able to get in to have my gingivectomy early! Dr. Baghdasaryan did my gingivectomy and I came back a few weeks later to have him do my bonding and I couldn't be happier with the results! Both of them were very friendly and honest- I was originally going to get veneers but Dr. B advised me against it so that I didn't have to damage my healthy teeth permanently. If you are looking for a good place to get your dental work done (especially any type of orthodontic treatment) you've found the best place. Dr. G. Hovsepyan, Danielle, and the rest of the staff at Viva are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the entire process (from treatment, insurance, common questions, etc.). It took about 5 months of treatment with them through the Invisalign process to correct my dental issues that had persisted for over 10 years. I still feel incredibly foolish over having waited so long and letting my general aversion to the dentist get in the way because they just made it that simple. I came in with a ton of question since I had undergone the regular braces route when I was a kid. Every question was answered thoroughly and alternatives were offered with professional input as to the benefits and pitfalls of that route. If I'm being honest, I was still somewhat skeptical after my initial consultation due to prior experiences and a refusal to believe it would be as simple as described. I kept anticipating/expecting when the pain, discomfort, or something substantial would kick in even as I was months into the treatment plan. That never materialized. This has honestly been one of the easiest processes/treatment plans I've ever undergone. If you've ever had braces before, I imagine you experienced periods of time after and adjustments or after their initial placement where your mouth was effectively out of action unless you wanted to deal with pain and discomfort for the crime of slightly moving your mouth to speak or chew. That never happened with the Invisalign. Maintenance visits were also a breeze. I plan on continuing to see Dr. Hovsepyan for any future dental treatment/maintenance. Highly recommend Viva Smile. Dr. Hovsepyan is an amazing professional, but my poor review is for the staff and how they handle scheduling. On the day of my appointment, I left work early, was running literally 2 minutes late when they started calling me non-stop, and almost caused an accident, so I had to make a right at the next door shopping center. By the time I got out of there and arrived to their office, I was 7 minutes late. They refused to accept me. When I called them later, they didn't even apologize as it 'was my fault'. I have yet to come across another doctor's office (or any business) that doesn't give patients a 10-minute courtesy window. And that's because having an accommodating scheduling method is a must in LA where most people juggle work, traffic and doctor appointments. read more

Yes, I rock adult braces. You jelly? I've been going to Dr. Hovsepyan for a few months now and since day one I've been incredibly impressed by her professionalism and personality. She. Is. Frick'n. Awesome. I found her through Yelp and after reading the reviews thought to myself, either these folk are all Stepford children writing shill reviews or this lady really is that good. Seriously, she's just that good. There's never been any pressure to add on services that I didn't need. Typically I have to wait less than 2 minutes in the waiting room and the appointments are fast. For the necessary longer ones, there's no down time where I'm waiting for her to show up, there's always someone there doing something that's moving us along efficiently. They've been more than accommodating for getting me in last minute for "emergency" appointments - when a wire or sharp spot has caused pain. Melanie, the Office Manager, has the emergency line for after-hour issues. The practice is all very personal - they care about your health and happiness. Husband started seeing the Doc for dentistry, and he adores her as well. She was able to work out a really great deal to replace all of his silver fillings with white ones. That's another great aspect about her practice; they will work with you financially. Seriously, just go to them. And tell that that some chick named Margo on the internet convinced you to do so (they offer referral incentives too!!!). The only bad thing is that they're hidden in the back of this crappy strip mall. Husband got confused and went to the twin strip mall right next to them, where ANOTHER dentist was located in the same spot! DON'T FORGET TO CHECK IN! The Chatsworth location was amazing! The husband/wife doctor duo works seamlessly with this couple. I had weak enamel on my front two teeth and they were also chipped. Dr. used a laser machine that reshaped my gums and made my front two teeth look fuller and smoothed my teeth making them look nice big and white!!! I never knew there was a laser machine that can reshape the gums. The doctors are so thorough and even told me that my root canal did not have a crown which was routine that my other dentist never did!!! Dr. Hovsepyan is truly patient and thorough! read more

Unfortunately I had a terrible experience at this dental office and the most I can do at this point is write a review. I went in to get my Invisalign dots put on and the dentist's assistant chipped my incisor on the upper left. Now I remember her making a face to the dentist and feeling like something had happened... but they did not say anything. Instead they put the Invisalign dot right over where they chipped the tooth. Now a year later, getting my dots off by another dentist I can see and feel the chipped tooth. Now at this point there is nothing I can do about it... but what I can say is that I wouldn't trust a dentist that wouldn't bring it up immediately instead of covering up the issue. Now I have to pay someone else to fix my tooth of what this dentist caused. :( read more
