I found this place a few months ago out of desperation. My nails were in dire need of change. I was googling places nearby and I came across this joint. I love this nail salon. Everyone is so nice to me. I truly believe if you had a bad experience here it is because of you. I usually go to Kendy or Michelle, but everyone is great. it's not super high end, I'm not expecting back massages as I'm drying, and that's fine. Very quick, in and out. Normally my backup salon, but I got acrylic nails and needed them removed. Well even though I made an appt., I sat with my nails "soaking" for an hour. Do you know what happens in that time? The glue starts to spread to your skin and the cotton dries and is glued to your skin. So I had a film of nail glue and cotton whisps stuck to my skin. Normal for a basic acrylic removal? No. They don't respect people's time at all. I've seen it so many times with other clients saying 5-10 min wait but knowing fully that it would be 30 min+. So I sat there with my nails "soaking" for an hour watching them complete everyone else's long services, which is fine, but if they knew they wouldn't get to me for even 30+min. the decent thing would've been to say maybe come back later. Instead they stuck me in a chair for an hour with acetone melting my acrylic nails to my fingers and skin. Vivi nails is officially on pause for me. read more

I have questioned her about this and she claims that the prices have gone up and they are going to go even higher. I found this very strange and asked a couple of girls that work there. One said that Catherine doesn't ring up a portion of the sale and pockets the remainder. She didn't know if the owner was aware of this and was afraid to say anything about it. read more

I lived across the street from here and they're really good. I don't like their waxing room much bcuz it's not private but blossom Brow is a lot better. They're always busy but I like their work and it's worth the wait. My only issue is that they need to learn to listen.

Great place for a reasonable and long lasting normal gel manicure. However, not all the manicurists are skilled enough for complex designs. I got this gradation gel done, since the girl that was assigned to me was wearing it and looked nice. Though, later on I realized she probably got it done by someone else and she has actually never done it herself before. (my best guess is Candy since she was talking to her in the back room before she started and returned the sponge she used on me to her at the end) It took her 1.5 hours to get it done, and the result is not worth paying $47 for. I should have just stuck to normal gel or go elsewhere for any fancier type of nails. I still paid the whole amount +tip because she was really trying, but I will probably never go back for any fancy designs. Overall, it's a good every day kind of nail place. But my suggestion is unless you know the manicurist, go elsewhere for extra pampering experience. read more

Had an horrible experience here. Called for an appointment and scheduled SNS manicure for 5 pm (double-checked on the phone that they can do French as well). Came in at 5, told them I had an appointment, seemed like they remembered that I have called earlier. Was sat at the soaking station to Soak off SNS powder I had on. No one checked on me for 25 mins, meanwhile my manicurist took a walk-in and started working with her. At 5:30 I asked the manager (the only one who spoke English) when they would be able to start my nails as I had reservation for dinner later. I'm very persnickety about my nails so I went on yelp and read that ViVi was a great salon. Lo and behold I fell in love with ViVi! I have not tried a different nail salon in three months and know that the manicurists do such a fabulous job with my nails. They go at a slower pace but that's to ensure perfection with mani/pedi's. Most of the manicurists wok there are very skilled and attentive. However, the person who did a pedicure for me today, she didn't clean my nails properly, didn't apply top coat, it was super quick treatment and I wasn't happy with her service at all and felt I'm robbed. On top of that, I tipped my toe when I take out the tissues between the toes. I was so disappointed but other staff (maybe the owner or the manager?) saw me and fixed it and applied top coat quickly. Time to find a new nail salon to call home. I've been coming here for 5 years and unfortunately my last visit on 12/21/2020 made me realize how terrible the service has gotten and how INSANE the prices gotten. I've included a pic of my holiday nails. These nails are nice but definitely NOT worth the $74 price tag. Due to COVID-19 I called a day ahead to schedule an appt for my sister and I. Both of our apps were for 4:00pm. We arrived on time and our service started right on time. Michelle did my tips pictured below. My sister was scheduled to get a regular pedi and gel mani. After my sister completed her pedi the nail tech that was working with her walked her to a nail station to get started on her gel mani. At that time customer walked in and this nail tech left my sister in the chair to go tend to the customer without saying a single word. My nail tech Michelle told us that a "regular" customer who had an app with the nail tech that was working on my sister walked in and so my sister would have to wait to get her nails done by someone else (my sister had an appt for 4:00pm the other customer's appt was for 4:30pm). Michelle told my sister to wait 15mins for another nail tech to come and do her gel manicure. My sister waited 45mins for the other nail tech to finish working on WALK-INS before coming to start her gel mani. Needless to say my sister decided to NOT spend more money by doing her mani at a place that has such disregard for basic customer service and communication. I've been traveling from Manhattan to park slope to get my nails done here for years. This visit was a complete waste of time. I will no longer be visiting this nail salon. read more

Viví has by far been the best nail salon in park slope for me. I've tried almost all of them on 5th av and viví has provided top notch service for me, my family and friends. I must rave about Candy, she is an absolute sweetheart and if you complain about her, you must have a problem. I walked in on a Thursday night, upset about personal issues. Candy made me laugh my entire session and I left in a much better mood. She always makes me feel at peace when I walk in. I know if I am having a bad day she'll turn that right around. Katherine is also a huge asset to the salon. I haven't come around this kind of customer service in a very long time. There are 2 Vivi nail salons within 2 blocks of each other. Weird. I prefer this location because, while getting a manicure is a total indulgence, ~*unpopular opinion*~ it can be a little boring. It's not like a pedicure, where your hands are free to read a magazine or swipe away on your phone. I like that they have big screen tvs that show corny blockbusters that I would never watch on my own, but are the perfect pairing to getting your nails done.
