Our father recently rejoined our mother this past January. We always knew we would have a companion marker made when that time came. During my online research, I found the VJ Memorials company in Chino, CA. I was impressed by the amount of information on their website and decided to contact the company. I initially spoke with Christina by phone. We spoke for 30 minutes as she gave me a thorough tour of their website and all the options available to us. After my initial interview, I mentioned that I would compare and contrast their products and services with other companies in the IE. Over the next few weeks, I researched approximately six companies and found their websites to not be as informative or robust as that of VJ Memorial's. In addition, in a few cases, the representatives were unable to answer all of my questions to the same level of satisfaction as that of VJ Memorials nor did they give me a sense of open, honest dialogue with respect to pricing on their products. With my research complete, I scheduled an appointment to visit Christina. At their showroom, she greeted my sister and me with a nice, pleasant smile. The showroom had many examples of granite markers displayed on the wall and everything was neat, organized and clean. During our discussion, I was impressed with her knowledge, undivided attention and compassion during this tough time for us. After our meeting, and over the next week, Christina and I traded emails and phone calls. She was prompt in her email replies and returned my phone calls in a timely manner. During our subsequent visit, Christina was unavailable and we continued our journey with Corinne, the store manager. During this visit, we asked even more questions and again, received thorough and professional answers. We also found Corinne to be very informative, helpful, patient, and compassionate. She explained everything in a clear and simple manner. During the design process, the three of us discussed all aspects of the marker, including letter font, marker color, granite type, embedded photo of our parents, size, engraving process, wording, et al. All were taken into consideration and added to the final design. With respect to the flower design, we couldn't find a picture of a lily in their art book that fit the style of our marker. Corinne offered to design a lily that took a few days to complete. Upon review, I thought it fit very well with the current design, was creative, aesthetically pleasing, highly detailed and showcased her artistic talent. After a few more emails, minor changes and revisions, the final design was just what we wanted. As for the pricing, VJ Memorials is not the least nor most expensive, and after evaluating the end design against the amount of work required, I determined the value to be well worth the price. We gave approval to begin production and without a misstep, the marker was ready on the date promised and turned out beautifully. The finished product is a high quality piece of artistic craftsmanship that is personalized and a lasting memorial to/for our parents. Top notch work for sure. I am very satisfied we chose to work with VJ Memorials. Both Christina and Corinne helped us every step of the way and have been great to work with. My father past away and our family was looking for something special for his headstone. Vj memorials was the place. Corine was very helpful in designing a custom headstone that was one of a kind. When grieving, there are few things as important as selecting the right memorial stone for a loved one who has passed away. We lost our father this past year. Of course, that is a terrible loss and there's so much involved with his care while he was sick and then with the services provided after his passing. One of the last things that we could do for him is to make sure that he had a beautiful memorial stone. My mother worked so hard to provide him with the best care possible ... every detail of his care had to be the best possible and this was the last important detail that had to be perfect. So, we set out to find the right company to work with. We looked online and V. J. Memorial stood out right away. It happened to have my father's initials. And then I looked at the location and it was in Chino, which is very close to us. I looked through their website and was able to learn a lot about their company. It seemed like they had high quality standards and were in business over 50 years. We called and made arrangements to come in to speak to someone the next morning. Christina helped my mom and sister and they were able to select from the stones they already had in stock. It was exactly what we had in mind, in the granite color we wanted. This was very helpful because it saved a lot of time. If the stone had to be ordered, it could add months to the completion process. After that, we were able to work by phone and email to design the stone. Christina was very kind and patient as we fine-tuned the design. They provided many proofs until every detail was exactly as we wanted it. We were able to add engraving to the backside at a minimal cost. This was a great help. The cost included whatever we wanted engraved on it. There is no additional cost for more words or artwork. It is all included. And then it was one cost to add the back and we could add all that we wanted. This was perfect, because my Dad had written a beautiful poem as a tribute to my Mom for their 50th anniversary. And this told so much of their lives together and of our family. It was the perfect way to honor him and her at the same time. It was a lot of writing, but it fit beautifully and we couldn't have been happier with the finished product. This was all new to us and we were a little uncertain of what to expect or how it would all work out. But once we approved the final proof, we were given a timeline for having the photo tile ordered, then the stone engraving done. We were able to go and see the finished product in their showroom. It was perfect. Then the installation was scheduled shortly after. We went the following day and it was in place and beautifully honoring my father. He deserved the best and we are so happy that his memorial stone reflects that. My Mom was so pleased, and that was our goal. If she was happy, we know he would have been happy with it.
