My dad is actually buried here, so technically I have an inside source. I asked him what he thought about the place. No complaints so far. Five stars from Dad. Tough critic, too. Hasn't complained about anything in years. The place itself is immaculate. Beautiful landscaping, peaceful surroundings, perfectly maintained grounds. Honestly, Dad has better real estate than some people paying $4,000 a month in Los Angeles and his landlord hasn't raised the rent once. Talk about a quiet neighborhood. No loud music. No barking dogs. No neighbors arguing over parking. Nobody firing up a leaf blower at 7:03 Saturday morning. Just absolute silence. Finally, a community where everyone understands the assignment. Security seems excellent too. Dad has been here awhile and hasn't had a single Amazon package stolen. The clientele is incredibly diverse. Doctors, lawyers, teachers, grandparents, probably somebody who once called about your car's extended warranty. Forest Lawn accepts people from every walk of life. Eventually. And talk about customer retention. Once Forest Lawn gets a customer, they almost NEVER lose one. Netflix would kill for that retention rate. There's also no pressure to socialize. Nobody asks what you do for a living. Nobody discusses politics. Nobody corners you for 45 minutes explaining cryptocurrency. The nightlife, however, needs serious work. Absolutely DEAD. I tried asking around for recommendations, but everyone completely ghosted me. Including Dad. Rude. I drove all the way over here. Still, Forest Lawn is peaceful, beautiful, meticulously maintained and apparently Dad approves. At least I'm assuming he does. He hasn't asked to speak with management. Five stars from me. I am extremely pleased with the services Mario Luna at Glendora Cremation and Burial Services…read moreprovided for my dad. My sister and I were given his contact information by our cemetery sales rep. Mario took our call right away on a Friday night. He was very kind, and knowledgeable with the services we were requesting. We requested to bring my dad's body from Mexico. Mario right away knew what steps to take to make that happen in a timely manner. He met with us a few days after conversating to finalize every detail. He took his time, answered all our questions, gave us piece of mind, and gave us our space to grieve as we were making hard and emotional decisions. Mario gave me the opportunity to identify my dad's body after it arrived in the US, to give me a piece of mind and confirm it was him. Mexico funeral services embalm the body very different from how it is done in the US. My dad's body had a strong medication odor when my it arrived. Mario was very honest with my expectations and promised to try their best to clean up my dad and get rid of the smell as much as possible. The day of the visitation, we arrived about 30 minutes early. Mario and his assistant had everything ready. He explained the process of how everything would happen and was there if we needed anything. They both made sure the chapel was clean, made sure the flowers were placed beautifully and everything followed its timeline. My dad's body did not smell at all. His embalming was perfect and most importantly, he looked like himself. The day of the graveside services, Mario and his assistant again had everything ready before the scheduled time. Everything ran on schedule, and he was right by our side if we had any questions. I will forever be grateful for his services. We felt like we were taken care of by a family member. The whole process was smooth. I hope we don't have to go through this again anytime soon, but I know I will definitely reach out to them if I am ever in the same situation again.
