We are visiting North Topsail Beach for a family vacation and super excited to notice a Vietnamese restaurant in the area when we were at Publix for groceries -- both businesses are located within the same plaza. My SO and I checked it out for a quick dinner on Tuesday evening. I hope they do well and remain open, as I believe many people are still discovering what Vietnamese food truly is in this area. If you're reading this, I highly recommend you give it a try! Healthy, delicious food. STAFF We were greeted by two friendly wait staff upon entrance and asked if it was for dine-in or to-go. We dined in and the gentleman staff assisted us. He was attentive and did a great job! INTERIOR Spacious and clean. Plenty of tables that seat 2-4 and larger parties if tables are combined. I appreciate the Vietnamese pop music playing. FOOD -Crispy Eggrolls: These are shrimp-based egg rolls. The shrimp in the filling were fresh. Other items in the filling include cabbage, carrots, onions, and clear vermicelli rice noodles. Overall, the shrimp were fresh. -Combination Pho: I ordered a regular bowl which had plentiful portion. This came with ribeye, beef brisket, and meatball. The garnishes included jalapeno slices with seeds removed, bean sprouts, basil leaves, and a lime wedge. Sriracha and hoisin condiments were available at the table. The broth was tasty and fragrant. Everything was delicious! There was a good ratio of pho noodles to protein. -Grilled Pork Banh Mi: A solid baguette. I appreciate the pickled carrots and radish-- not overly pickled. It comes with cucumber, jalapeño, and a house mayo that's spread onto the baguette. I must add, the house special mayo saved the sandwich. The grilled pork is cooked well but could use a little more seasoning. Recommend this for a lighter meal. Overall, a delicious meal with excellent food quality. read more

VK Pho has the best pho around our area! As an Asian-American, this is the only place I trust. The others, though they've been here longer, have questionable meat (beef). This is our go to spot if I'm not making Pho at home or if we need a quick dinner solution. It typically takes 10-15 minutes for our order to be ready and their other dishes, such as the spring rolls and salad are also wonderful. Thankful for the quality ingredients they use, especially when others have cut corners to increase profit margin. read more

As a vegetarian, I go here often. I love their veggie pho. I prefer this place over others because of the thickness of the noodle. They also have pretty good fresh veggies, compared to some places who do frozen veggies. Great prices, nice people and clean environment. They're also very accommodating. 1/2 the time I do 1/2 noodles extra veggie. read more

The server was very friendly and nice to us upon entering. He made the experience really good :) The restaurant was very clean inside and welcoming. The pho was very good. One of the better pho I have had on the east coast. The spring rolls were very yummy! My only note for the fresh spring rolls not pictured is the peanut butter sauce is very thick and hard to dip into, maybe it can be made more viscous. Came here for dinner Wednesday after some recommendations from friends. We loved it! Great addition to surf city! Lots of tables inside. The workers were so nice and gave great recommendations! We ordered the spring rolls with grilled pork as an appetizer. They were delicious. I loved the peanut sauce. I also ordered a grilled pork sandwich. So yummy! Bread was crispy and ingredients tasted fresh. I then ordered the ribeye and brisket pho. I got the large for $1 more. It was definitely worth it! I had leftovers after. Flavors were good. Came too early for our doc appt so decided it's a rainy day let's go grab lunch! It's in parking lot that Publix is in but in shopping center. Staff was very nice and greeted us when we came in. Lots of different teas to choose from. I got passion fruit tea with passion fruit popping boba! Yes please! Just right not too sweet! For my entree I got shrimp pho . The shrimp were big and plentiful. The broth had really good flavor..they brought a plate of bean sprouts and Thai basil for extras if you wanted them in your pho.. hit the spot of wet rainy day! Sign says they may have just opened recently but I think they will do very good! Nice seating area either large wave mural.. highly recommend stopping by grabbing a regular or large bowl to warm your soul! read more

The best sandwich I have ever had! Try the pork bun-mi, I ordered mine with extra pickled vegetables. The pork was lean, the bread was great and the pickled vegetables were great. All for $6. The perfect to go order on the way to the beach. The restaurant is clean and cute. The service is friendly and the owner brought me my sandwich. Absolutely Amazing!! Our family thoroughly enjoyed all our food and the warm and friendly environment!! We ordered the veggie tofu pho bowls/ tofu egg rolls and the lemongrass chicken rice dish. I love this place! Family owned business with fantastic food, excellent service, beautiful mural that gives it a very relaxed atmosphere. The combination pho with rice noodles is so good. It has brisket, meatballs, and ribeye. I also love their sandwiches, the spring rolls and egg rolls. And for the French fries lovers, theirs are some of the best around. They are located next to Burrito Shack in Surf City on the same shopping center as Publix. Get there asap, you will love it! read more

PHO-NOMINAL!! (Sorry, couldn't resist). Very first customer and ex-NYer here ... This pho is the best I've had outside of NYC. It is SO bursting with flavor that it rivals anything in NYC. I highly recommend you try ASAP, over and over, and take all your friends and family too. I am pescetarian. I usually get vegetarian broth which is frequently bland and tasteless. It is hard to find vegetarian pho even in NYC, and even harder to find one with good flavor. This is not just good pho, not just great pho, not even amazing pho - this pho is something special! We were unable to try the appetizer during the soft opening, but we look forward to trying them very soon. The drinks were quite delicious as well. I tried the Thai Tea Honey Limeade. You may think it sounds weird. You may think those flavors don't work well together. You are forgiven for thinking so, but badly mistaken. This is Entry level, Level 1 pho, the saltine cracker of pho! One might even be so bold as to call it Gerber Baby Pho!!! It is quasi pho, it's faux pho, it is semi-pho, this is the margarine of pho, this is the Diet Coke of pho. This is the Geo Metro of pho, for reference it's a car, and it will get you where you need to go, but you're not picking up chicks in it and you aren't winning any drag races. Now, I love pho, but I like to have options this place had like 3 (OVERLY Americanized) options for pho. Imagine a little Caesar's that only serves $5 hot and ready's. You've found that hot and ready pho at the premium price point. Nothing even remotely special, quite the opposite in fact. Absolutely delighted to have this new restaurant on the island, it's so delicious! Super quick service, always king people working. The food has great flavor, and ingredients are so fresh, especially the veggies. The portions are large, and the noodles are made just right. I love all the teas, my daughter loves the mango and boba teas. It is a bright interior with lots of windows which makes for a pleasant atmosphere, since it's in a shopping center. The Thai milk tea was absolutely delicious, I'd order that every day! The egg rolls were nice and crispy & the sweet chili sauce was perfect to dip them in. My husband got the brisket pho and I got the chicken pho. Both were flavorful and we were able to add finishing touches like Thai basil, bean sprouts, lime, hoisin or sriracha. There was only one server the evening we were there and he was so pleasant, even though the place was packed! The restaurant had many tables and folks were able to either dine in or take out. Always a good spot to go to when you're craving Pho! The boba is a hit here too, closest thing you can get to good boba and pho out here.

It's basically a bone broth soup with meat in it very good very light if you're looking to lose weight, drinks are pretty good also
