Worth the drive! I live in the Monkey Junction area, and it's worth the drive to head up for dinner. The bowl of pho is MASSIVE and so good! Our server was the sweetest lady ever! My friend wasn't sure what to try, so our server recommended one of the dishes. They discussed spice levels, and rather than possibly have my friend's dish too hot, our lovely server brought her a dish with three different spices/heat levels so she could adapt it however she liked. I ordered pho to enjoy at the restaurant and a meal to go. Nel Khoa Tod is delicious here. Khoa Poon is lacking any sort of development for flavors. Bland chicken, some mystery meat stuff and coconut milk. Needs something, anything. Pork belly noodle bowl was sad. Their sauce is too sweet and the pork was dry/crisp. Also lacking flavor development. Wouldn't given three stars but it's overpriced for what it is, should be less than the better places but much more and the place needs a good cleaning. Grabbed takeout from Pho Vanhly for the first time tonight and we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. We ordered the beef pho & the khao soi. I definitely think this might be the best pho in wilmy (but it is on the pricier side) esp since we really don't have that many options (IYKYK). I added tendon to my pho and it was super tender (which isn't always the case), the broth was also very flavorful and I didn't think the portion was too small at all. We ate here for my dad's birthday today. The food was delicious but the service was not great. Our table was not bussd the whole time and waters only filled once (even though much needed). What a great little place! Took some searching to find this spot. Funny enough it did not come up under "Pho" Doesn't matter! We showed up for my sons 16th Birthday. He had been wanting this or Ramen. Appears much was gluten free. If you look online(google) it shows the menu and GF foods. Kids had pho, i had... some spicy chicken that was amazing! Friend had spicy basil that was fresh and Perfect! Definitely want to go back. Littles had fried chicken rice and they devoured it. Little pricey but worth it. Small spot, so go early. This new restaurant is located next to donut inn. It's very nice and modern inside. This is more like an upscale Asian restaurant. We sat in one of their many booths tables along the wall. The wall booth table may be a little bit small for four people, unless you're petite sized. We all ordered pho - beef ($16) and special (beef, meatball, tripe, tendon, $18). The pho is, I guess Laotian style, not the typical Vietnamese, but still very similar. The pho was very expensive and didn't have much noodles. There's only one size for pho available as well. The flavor of the pho was decent, not my favorite. Chuck roast and flank steak were in the pho. Chili oil is available, just ask the staff for it. Chili oil was good, spicy. Our waitress was very good, she was very nice, checked in with us, and asked for feedback. This is still a good Asian/Laotian restaurant for people to try that live in the area. read more

My family enjoys Pho Vanhly. I especially enjoy the beef pho with the mushroom broth. My daughter likes the bao buns. They are pretty good about substitutions. The service is usually pretty good. Fortunately for me, when Pops was retiring from the Air Force and moved back to his home town of Columbus, Ohio- there was a huge Laos and Vietnamese Community in Columbus. This is where I instantly made friends and introduced to their food, language and culture. First dish I was introduced to was Khao poon. This dish is a popular type of spicy Lao rice vermicelli soup most often made with pounded chicken, fish, or pork and seasoned with fish sauce, padaek, lime leaves, galangal, garlic, shallots,chillies, and mint. So, I was super excited to come to this new restaurant and even more excited when I saw they had this dish. I have not had this dish in twenty plus years! So, yes, I have missed the various flavors that danced in my palate. We ordered beef pho, summer rolls, and Ofcourse, Khao poon. For starters, the summer rolls wrapper was over soaked(yes this is possible) for it was coming apart and stuffing was ok. Tried the beef pho next. It looked and smelled like pho, but the broth did NOT taste like a Vietnamese pho. The broth makes or break the pho. Broth was a bit bland. I eat pho two to three times a month. Sometimes, more in the winter time and I have made this myself several times. Which means, I know what the layers of flavors are suppose to taste like... and noodles were over cooked and broth was Luke warm(pho broth is suppose to be piping hot!) Khao poon had really good flavors, took me back to having the soup in Columbus, Ohio, where I had this amazing dish. But, the broth was Luke warm and noodles over cooked. I was a bit disappointed, but focused on the flavors of the broth, even if it was Luke warm. Plus, it's a bit expensive for a bowl of soup and only one size available. I would not mind paying the price if the quality was up to par. Staff was ok, can be more attentive. They have a yummy chili oil you can ask for on the side if you like spicy and kick your dish up a notch. Bathroom was clean. Went back couple more times, everyone deserves a chance or two. My heart breaks to say this, the third time is NOT always a charm and I will give this place a rest. I will not be returning. read more

I finally gave this spot the attention it deserves and oh my goodness - did they deliver!! Service was friendly, even though we came at a peak time and they were busy inside + takeout. We were afraid our food would take awhile but it came out incredibly quickly, which was much appreciated. We started with the Moo Ping - lemon grass pork skewers (tender and delicious) and Nem Kao Tod. If my boyfriend hadn't known what this was, I wouldn't have even considered it but it's absolutely a new favorite for me! The complex flavor (sour, salty, sweet, etc) and variety of textures - is simply unbeatable. Don't skip this one! I had the Khao Soi - a delightful curry that is mild in flavor yet filled with veggies, herbs, noodles and more. It was a nice mild contrast to the more flavorful apps, but if you like a more bold curry - you'd want to add more to it (like the chili oil or paste) or select another option. He had the Khao Piek - also mild, but he jazzed it up with the chili goodness. This one is like a true comfort food noodle soup (though personally I love Pho for that) with house made noodles. The pork belly was a unique addition for a soup I haven't seen elsewhere (different than in ramen). Overall, we left extremely satisfied - in both appetite and flavor. (19 Feb 2022) Three of us drove from Leland to try this place out. It was a bit of a hike but we wanted to try this place out after learning about it on particular Facebook page. Upon entering the small restaurant, we immediately noticed how lovely the place looked. Great atmosphere and décor (even the ladies bathroom is nicely decorated). There's seating for about 40 people. They have a very nice menu that made it difficult to decide what to order; however, we came for Pho! Our appetizers: Vanhly Spring Roll; Fresh Summer Rolls; Spring Rolls. Mine was the Vanhly, which stated it was a "jumbo spring roll filled with shrimp, egg, ground chicken, black mushroom, carrot, onions, taro and clear glass noodles." It's a roll I've never heard before. The egg inside was actually an over medium cooked egg, so the roll was a little on the runny side. I found hints of the ground chicken, a decent amount of shrimp, but I couldn't detect the mushroom, carrots or onions. Still, it was an interesting roll. My one friend had the summer rolls. Wow! they were huge!! The three of us could have shared it. For the spring rolls, there were four. Pretty generous in this department. Two of us ordered the beef pho; the other the vegetable pho. The basil, cilantro, bean sprouts, lime and jalapeno slices were served in bamboo plates. Don't you just love it when a restaurant adds just a little extra touch to make a person smile? I do. We delved into our soups. Very good flavors to the broth and good portion of sliced beef. The vegetable Pho looked more inviting. We were all happy campers slurping our soups. And we had leftovers. I do think the prices for the Pho is about $3-$4 more than the other area Pho restaurants; however, the quality, atmosphere and service makes up for the price difference. This is not a place I would go to all the time simply because of the driving distance, but if I'm in the area, I will certainly stop by for lunch or dinner. There are other items I would love to try.
