I did my original review five years ago. Time for an update after five years of doing business with these folks because they deserve it. For a first time customer, you need to know to park your vehicle by the entrance to the office. They appear to service the fleets for a number of businesses, so the parking area around the garage is most always full. Don't park in front of the entrance to the work bays. They don't schedule appointments. I show up at 7 am, when they open, and over a five year period they have always completed my service by close of business that day. I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule, but that has been my experience. When parts are needed, they often arrive in the afternoon. They will call you when the vehicle is ready for pick up. To me their pricing is fair and honest. I want quality work and I'm willing to pay for it. A friend of mine suspected her dealership was overcharging her and asked if I knew of a good mechanic. I took her to Voigt's and they were able to perform the work for much less. They are a good place to go, if you want a second opinion. Voigt's pointed out to me that my truck has a broken bolt on my exhaust, so there is an exhaust leak until things warm up. They said it really didn't hurt anything, so it's a repair that I am choosing to put off. As to my reviews always being positive. For a number of years I benefited from the reviews of others and found places I would have never know existed otherwise. Then I decided to submit reviews. I use Yelp to find good places to try. I figure that's what you are looking for too. You're not looking for a bad experience, but we all experience bad ones from time to time. It could be my bad day and not theirs. I've been to Voigts previously before this incredibly horrible situation. Nice guy, a little pricy but it's Naples. We to to get my brakes done. While he had my car, I asked if he could put in 2 headlight bulbs which I had purchased. When I picked up the car, I saw he charged me $109 to put in two bulbs! I was flabbergasted! I don't know how anyone can feel justified charging that much money to put into bulbs. And then saw I was charged over $35 for "shop supplies." Which I was told were for cleaning. Never again! Unless you have infinite $, find another mechanic. read more

I live in NY and was in Naples for the weekend with friends. My son was driving down from Tampa (He lives there and is a Student at UT) to spend the weekend with us. As he was making his 3 hour drive down on Friday evening February 15, his clutch blew on his 2015 Subaru WRX 3/4 of the way and he barely made it to our house in Naples. My son had to be back in class Tuesday morning the 19th so we were behind the 8 ball being it was the weekend. I called the local Subaru dealer Saturday morning and they were no help and said they can "probably look at it on Wednesday"...Really? I looked online for some local repair shops and came across Voight's. I called and spoke directly to Tony and explained the situation and the urgency that my son be back on the road for Monday evening. Without hesitation, Tony said "I'll order the clutch now and should have it here Monday morning by 10am". I asked if he needed a deposit, and he said no, just drop the car off today (Saturday). (Saturday) 11am We drove the car at 10mph, (the fastest it would go) to his shop. Again Tony said he would do his best to have it done by Monday evening. I thanked him and we left. Monday morning on our way back from the beach around 1pm, I stopped by Voight's to check on the status. I saw the car sitting outside and I was pissed. I said to my son "they never even got it into the shop". I went in to bitch to Tony about the delay, and he said " THE CAR IS DONE" I was shocked, can this be true? I thought they never changed the clutch and he just adjusted it, but no, I saw the old clutch and bearings and a thorough check, and sure enough, Tony came through better and faster than promised. He started working on the car Saturday which helped expedite the repair. Tony really helped me out and I'm sure he had to make room in his shop to get us in knowing how desperate I was. NO HE DIDN'T TAKE ADVANTAGE ON THE PRICE IF THAT'S WHAT YOUR THINKING. Tony is a super nice and honest guy. I will always recommend his shop to anyone I talk to. At this point I'm very pleased. I went in for brakes and was told I didn't need them. Considering my Ford Explorer has 95,000 miles that's simply amazing. I'm about to set a world's record for Ford brakes. Since I didn't need brakes I opted to catch up on my routine maintenance. I got all new spark plugs and spark plug wires. I also had the brake fluid and coolant replaced. The total bill was $516. That's more than reasonable. The car was done on time, the people were nice and they gave me a free donut. Have you ever been in the "When it Rains, it Pours" scenario, where you think that nothing can go right, and you're waiting for the up in "it can only go up from here"/ Now, I consider myself to be the polar opposite of a debbie-downer, and this eternal optimist was nowhere to be found when my world of cars came crashing down. Needless to say, Voigt's Auto Service Center was the light at the end of the tunnel. (That and my awesome husband who orchestrated this whole car-fixing thingamajigger.) My car could have been considered a wreck, but Voigts was able to turn my car around at a great price while working with us and our insurance company. When you become carless at the mercy and charity of others, I appreciated the turnaround time for my car. There were a few hiccups along the way, but they were open to communicating with my husband and shared what needed to be shared so we could understand the breadth of such an enormous task. Our car was never in perfect condition from the getgo, but at the end of the day (well, few weeks), we were more than happy with the end result. Even when we were unsure the first go round, they took a look at the car and exercised some excellent problem-solving to get the car back in tip-top condition for what an older car can be. This is a family business, and it's nice to see that they go out of their way to take care of their clients. The mechanic trust element is there, and you know and feel that you're not getting jacked around like most places. I've seen some of my friends get taken advantage of from their mechanic, and I don't get that with Voigt's. Thanks to the owner, Tony, we now have a reliable place we can come to for the big AND little car problems. Happy days are here again...when you find a home for car repair. After taking my car to other places and being double gouged, I can report that this place is gold. The owner is obviously a hard-working guy who tells the truth and charges a fair price for his services that just happens to be less than anyone else around. Tony was nice for a few years, then he all of the sudden became a complete inconsiderate a******. Not sure what his problem is, i guess he feels he is successful enough that he can treat some customers very poorly. My first problem occurred when Tony broke the plastic side panel in my Dodge stratus, and although he denied breaking it.....he did offer to order me a new plastic side panel, and then he never did order it. Ok, i let that one go. Next, i told him he could take his time with my mini van with a screw up that was his fault.....but after 2 months i decided to check in on the progress, and he had the audacity to tell me "You said i could take my time, I'm really busy Kirk". Next, i merely asked Tony how many miles were on the new-used engine he installed in my Mini van.....and he actually said, "Kirk, you're asking me to remember something from memory over 8 months ago.....I can't remember things i did last week" Ok, i don't expect anyone to remember things from memory you did months ago......but isn't it just common freakin' sense to document those things or even just keep the receipt when you bought the engine in order to know how many miles are on a new engine you install in someone's car, especially for resale purposes!!! Next, i merely asked Tony for a print out of what he did to fix my engine.....you know, for future documentation/resale purposes. I have been coming to this station for the 20 years that I've lived in Naples with NEVER a bad experience. I will only buy used cars- let someone else eat the depreciation- and cannot afford the outlandish Naples prices at the dealers, so I bring EVERY need to Tony Sr.- now Jr. As a single female I have had them rescue me from flat tires to drained batteries when I could find no one else to help. I am very conflicted about writing about all the great things that they have done for me lest everyone start beating a line to their door. As it is now, they always have found a way to accommodate my scheduling needs when my car has forsaken me, including coming to my condo to put a plug in my flat tire and charging a freakishly low price for the repair. Short story- my a/c went out on me last month just as I was leaving the hospital after having emergency surgery. Bottom line- the money is just starting to flow and I have been putting off getting an estimate to have it fixed. There's an a/c place that my mechanic neighbor recommended so I got an estimate for the repair- a few dollars less than $1100. My car died the next day and Tony noticed that the a/c wasn't working. I told him about what the a/c company had said was the need. He took a look and concurred with the needed repairs. His price- HUNDREDS less than the a/c place- in fact he was upset that I had gone there in the first place- not that I had taken my care someone other than his station but that I might be overcharged by that shop. Bottom line- I wholly endorse these folks without any reservation. They stand behind their work, they do it right the first time, and they are honest folks. read more

As native New Yorkers we are use to a multitude of service stations to choose from.Once we found a mechanic we had and on going trusting relationship. Here in Florida the automotive industry is driven by car dealerships, cold sterile environment and high labor costs. That leave's the consumer unable to develop a trusting relationship. I had hard about Voigt's and I knew the station and the name... for decades; However, a neighbor told me they weren't reliable anymore. So, I picked what is now my current auto shop. This morning, after some car issues left my car immovable, I called around. "My" auto shop added a LARGE diagnostic fee and a six-day wait. Or should I say my "ex" shop.... Another auto shop with good reviews was much further away and charged more. I was also concerned about a potential conflict of interest. Voigt's had great reviews, was close by, opened early, and had an excellent reputation. So, I hit my knees and started praying. As with any important decision, I needed to ask God who I should choose and what I should do. I called Voigt's right when they opened today and they were sympathetic and honest. They are taking care of the towing for me - with a lessor charge - and their diagnostic is a non-issue. They can definitely check out the problem for me today, and may be able to service it today, too. What a breath of fresh air!!! I will update this later to let you know how I went - but after reading all of the excellent recent reviews, and talking to them today, I am pretty sure that it will be a phenomenal ending to this story. read more

I stopped by on a Saturday around noon because my car was over heating, The owner told me that they were closed and did not even bother to come out and take a look at the car. At the time, it was not even 1:30 pm yet and the shop did not have any other customer, the closing time posted on the door is 2:00 pm. When I asked him about the inconsistency, the owner told me that they can close whenever they felt like it and even had the audacity to tell me that he wished my car burned up! Took car to Voigt's based upon AAA recommendation. They completed work on time and for estimated budget. Upon leaving when car picked up, suffered catastrophic part failure on one of the replacement parts. Voigt's took it upon themselves to pay the tow, replace the part, recheck the entire vehicle and more! The frustration of the failed part went away after finding them as agreeable and concerned as we were. Will use Voigt's again for my next repair... it appears they do all kinds of vehicles as well!
