Best sushi place I've ever had and that includes Miami, Dallas, Houston... So good, I'm probably here twice a week. When this place first opened, I thought the quality was pretty good for a sushi place in Midland. However the quality has slowly gone into decline. You can see on menus were they've scratched out old prices and raised them. I'd be willing to pay more except for the fact the past two times I've been there I've had rolls with bad fish. Look let me preface this by saying my wife is from Thailand. Is this pad Thai from the streets of Bangkok? No it's not, is this the best tasting pad Thai in Midland? Yes, I think it is. Perfect amount of spice and perfect amount of vegetables I ordered on DoorDash and for it to still show up tasting good is an impressive feat for Asian food. Restaurant and bar has a very nice, clean, ambiance to it. We had fantastic and attentive service throughout our meal though the place was not very busy. Every dish that came out from the kitchen looked fantastic, Volcano has a diverse menu so there are lots of options. We had sushi and while it was OK it was not great. Some of the fish didn't look like it was at its' freshest. I got a Philly Roll and Godzilla Roll. Philly was good, Godzilla was eh. Wife got a Tuna combo that came with a roll, sushi, and sashimi. It all tasted good but again, didn't look as fresh as it does at many restaurants. I will attribute this to the restaurant just opening. We finished with green tea mocha and deep fried cheese cake, both were good but I highly recommend the cheesecake! Horrific! I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. I was given a plate of fried chicken pieces with a orange dipping sauce. When I asked the waiter where my sweet and sour chicken was he told me that was it. I some to a manager who asked me to describe what sweet and sour chicken was. I sent the plate back and asked for the check to leave. I was charged for the plain chicken pieces and oranhge dipping sauce even after I sent the played back. Don't ever eat here, go to Osaka, they know how to make your food correct and don't charge you for crap you didn't order. Pathetic! The WORST Japanese Ramen I had in my life!!! Clearly NOT a 100% Japanese establishment. The broth was not not miso based. It tasted like dirty mop water smells!!! Four of us went for lunch. 3 scoops out of my "pseudo Ramen" soup was everything I could stomach. My colleague couldn't finish his "lobster/shrimp" soup either. The food was beautifully plated and the service was very good, but the food was just okay. The spring rolls had good favor but poor texture. The ramen and hibachi steak were only fair. Great service and substitutions on items that were needed. Jasmine tea was fantastic and came out hot and delicious. The lobster roll was amazing and a large quantity of lobster in side of the roll which is always great. The hand rolls were the perfect size not too big not too small so I could still bite them perfectly and they still filled me up. Everything taste very fresh and the service is fantastic. What an amazing spot for Sushi! The staff are amazing and the speed of service was quick. The dining room was packed and that never slowed them down. Not too many Sushi restaurants serve a Unagi Don dish, that is my favorite dish and I was surprised they had a dinner entree just for Eel. The best sushi midland has really. Their menu is pretty good, would def recommend over Osaka and Fujiyama. I eat there probably once or twice a week and their fantastic roll is probably my favorite, they are also the only sushi place in town that actually knows what a hand roll is. read more

We have given this place a few tries. I didn't like it from the start but my boyfriend did up until our last visit. This place does not have that fresh of fish and there is really no quality control so you can order the same thing multiple times but each time will be completely different. One really unsettling thing to me about this place is their menus! They are so disgusting and neglected I refuse to even touch them with out using a napkin to turn the pages. The pages are falling apart, water damaged, and just plain dirty. They also crossed out prices and raised them as if no one would notice. read more

As far as sushi goes in the Permian, this is your go-to place aside from Osaka. They are DEFINITELY overpriced as far as everything on their menu, and anything other than the sushi is best rated as "meh" or "edible". Service is always decent and we've never waited for a table.
