Great hotel restaurant and bar! Mostly Greek food with a twist. My favorite thing was the flaming cheese. It's my favorite and it's hard to find in Portland. We also got a chicken sandwich and a burger with pulled pork on top. Everything was super great. They have a nice bar area. The service was friendly and fast. read more

I have to update my review. Still 5 stars. Tonight we ordered lamb chops and cheeseburgers. My wife raved about the lamb chops, perfectly cooked. I had a cheeseburger which was also really good. I think Volcano Grill is a hidden gem. People need to give them a try. read more

We came for a family dinner (2 teenagers, a 7 year old, and myself). I was a little weary because when I've been here in years past, it was a rocking pub on a Friday night. That wasn't the case this time around, it was family friendly. We even chose to sit on the bar side of things, as the restaurant seemed quiet and not the best placement for my younger child. Our waitress was funny and helpful. We started with the volcano cheese appetizer. They bring it right to your table and light it up in front of you. My little guy got a kick out of that. I was expecting it to me served more like a dip but it's basically just a hunk of cheese. Imagine eat a block of a mozzarella stick that hasn't been breaded. It was tasty but I probably would order something that gives more bang for it's buck, as we each ended up with about two bites of cheese once we divided it up amongst the four of us. The pulled pork grilled cheese and buffalo chicken sandwich were quite yummy. The pizza tasted just like a "house of pizza". I mentioned that to the waitress and she confirmed that the owner had previous had a house of pizza! I love this greek style of pie. I would say that the buffalo sauce didn't really come through on it though, as they still used a red sauce base and put the buffalo chicken upon in. Still good, but not exactly what I expected. With easy parking, a friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices, we left quite satisfied and would definitely return again. If you came here prior to the name chance, give it another go. I almost didn't want to review this place so it stays as a hidden gem. Went for dinner on a Sunday and the food was fantastic. The complimentary garlic knots were delicious and we had the flaming cheese, the lamb and the shrimp pasta. Everything is very flavorful and the people working are lovely! I was a bit hesitant when I drove up since this was connected to the Ramada, but I looked at previous reviews and decided to give it a go. Our waitress was very friendly. The food was great and surprisingly upscale. The burger bun was stamped which was a nice touch, the ribeye was delicious and cooked as requested. The sauces were made in house. Nice ambiance. Food was OK, nothing special. I got the wings and they were a bit undercooked & underwhelming. The biggest issue was with the Portobello Mushroom appetizer. We asked the server how big the portion is. He said it's 2 big mushrooms that can definitely be shared. Well, it was one very small 'shroom, barely enough to fill one person, never mind share. This place was so so so delicious and the staff was so nice. We had a great pizza, the soup of the day, and two appetizers and everything was fantastic. Volcano cheese! We also had tasty cocktails and the draft beer list was solid and well priced. It's in a funky spot in the hotel, but don't sleep on this place for a delicious meal! Total we tried the chicken sandwich, lamb chops, burger, mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, and fries. Let me exclaim "fries" because there about 2x the amount fries than of main food items. They must have tried to add more fries to justify the INSANE prices. $15.95 for a chicken sandwich with a piece of chicken roughly 1/5 of an inch thick and obviously a massive amount of fries and bread. Every item we tried tasted like cardboard with ranch on top. In conclusion, do not waste your precious time, money, and especially taste buds, at this poor imitation of a fancy restaurant. read more

A hidden gem!!! My fiancée and I were staying at the Portland Ramada and saw that there was a bar and grill. Debated going there for dinner. AM I GLAD WE WENT!!! What an amazing surprise. From the perfect cocktails, to the amazing food and hospitality. We ordered and shared an appetizer and a salad. The Pork Tacos were the best I have ever had, and the Shrimp ad Avocado salad was generous, with an unusual yet familiar spice rub on the shrimp and a light and complimentary dressing. We sent our compliments to the chef, and we realized he was Greek, and everything had a Greek favor to it. My fiancé, being Greek, had a complimentary dialog with both the chef and host. We were in awe the fabulous foo and service. I will spread the word to support this fairly new endeavor, as I would love to see them grow prosper and succeeded. I would highly recommend Volcano for the amazing food and hospitality. If I lived in the area, I would be a regular patron. Everyone in the Portland area should check them out!!!!! read more

My burger was great, fries were alright. Felt as though we were at opening night, and if I had been drinking copious amounts of liquor from the bar that seemed to be the focus, I'd have enjoyed the food more. The server was fine, but did not have any social skills, and gave my mom the drink I ordered which was watery root beer that she did offer to replace with a better drink. I asked for sprite after she told me she wasn't sure if she had lemonade, only for her to return with lemonade that was definitely mixed out back and was tap water warm. The ice cubes melted quickly and I'm pretty sure the drink was still powdery. Whatever the appetizer/garlic balls were that they served were completely inedible. All in all I won't rate down, because the burger was great, and the convenience of being attached to the hotel was nice. read more

From the stellar service to the amazing food, the Volcano Bar and Grill delivers! We were staying at the Ramada for a weekend date and local concert and decided to try the attached restaurant for convenience sake. We started with the fried calamari appetizer. It was tender and delicious, with a very fresh tasting marinara. The homemade garlic rolls that accompanied were the perfect tool to soak up the remaining sauce. For our entrees, my husband got the Smokey tacos appetizer. They came out on a sizzling platter and the pork was fall apart amazing. My Gardener's Pasta was so flavorful, fresh and delicious! Chock full of fresh, diced veggies, topped with feta, served with a side of grated Parmesan and fresh ground black pepper. The bartender and waiter were friendly and attentive. The entire experience knocked it out of the park. We would return to this hotel, just to eat here again. Try it, you won't be disappointed! read more

My family and I went there tonight for dinner and we all got something different. Every meal was amazing! Very flavorful and cooked to perfection! I got the 10oz NY sirloin and it was cooked perfectly, it was tender, juicy and had so much flavor. My husband got the salmon with rice pilaf and spinach and he said it was delicious! My son got the lamb chops with orzo and asparagus and he said the lamb chops were amazing and cooked perfectly. My mom got the bolognese and she said it was delicious!
