It's tough to come in and replace a spot that many would consider an institution and/or a town/local favorite. It was a smart move to open a cafe instead of a bar to make it so it won't be compared. That is exactly what Mandy & Matt's Cafe did when taking the spot over that use to be Samuel's. The space is small but felt homey and had a decent amount of seating considering the lack of space. Can grab a table or sit at their bar and when we actually have nice weather some outdoor seating as well. Staff were friendly and food came out in a decent time. They have a good variety of menu items you can choose from with a couple pages for breakfast and one for lunch. My wife got their homemade corned beef omelette with hash browns The corned beef was good and not too salty but she was not a fan of cheese used in the omelette. I decided to try their Southwest Benedict that came with two poached eggs with chorizo, onion, and jalapeño atop cornbread. Tasted quite good and the cornbread was a unique touch I really enjoyed. One egg was poached and perfectly runny while the other was very much overcooked. Then the side of the deep fried homefries were not crispy so that was disappointing. Overall good food but could have some improvements made. Lastly, onto the prices, while I know eggs and realistically the prices of everything is high some of stuff here I would consider priced quite high. I think it's great to have a small hole in the wall breakfast spot option for this area. Due to the prices and some other local spots having meals I have enjoyed more it may be some time til we return. Give it a try though!

Mandy & Matt's Cafe has opened up in the old Samuel's Bar & Grill location! They are open from 6 AM - 2 PM, as advertised on their temporary business sign. Patrons are immediately welcomed with a completely different vibe than the Morrill's Corner classic that occupied this space before. Mandy & Matt's Cafe is warm and inviting, and is clearly more family friendly for those of all ages. We visited on opening day and I have to admit that there were some hiccups in the service of our breakfast. However, the food was delicious and we will be returning to see how their small business develops!

I was really excited that a breakfast place opened up in the neighborhood, but I think there are still some kinks to work through. I went in on a Friday morning and there were plenty of tables to sit at. There was also outdoor seating available. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Food prices were a little higher than what I was expecting. I ordered a hot coffee and the breakfast combo plate which comes with eggs, bacon, sausage, a pancake and hashbrowns/homefries. Just the meal and the coffee, with a 20% tip, came out to $28. Food was good, although the hashbrowns were not very crispy and a little cold. I ordered a topping (options are chocolate chips, strawberries, apples, blueberries) on my pancake (which is an extra $2) and it came out without the topping. I didn't get a chance to tell the waitress and just realized that I still got charged for the topping. I know the prices of food are going up and this place just opened, but it seemed like gourmet prices for a pretty ok diner. ps. The mugs they use are glass, which are cute but, made it so the mug was quite hot to the touch and difficult to hold.

Great food is coming out of their kitchen. The sausage gravy and biscuits are the best. Coffee piping hot and a friendly staff make breakfast and lunch great again.

Stopped in after our first destination was closed. If you've been to Samuel's, the interior hasn't changed too much but it's cute. Service was top notch and fast. It was hands down one of the best breakfasts we have had recently. My husband got the biscuits with sausage gravy and said it was the best around. I got the Greek omelet and it was delicious. The home fries were real potatoes - not Cisco frozen. I give them huge props for that. We will be back!

Incredible! We thought it was just a coffee shop. Turns out it was the most amazing and quaint breakfast spot. Friendly atmosphere with an exploratory menu. It had the basics as well as twists on the old classics. Best eggs Benedict I've ever had.

It was fairly bland, pedestrian, nothing special whatsoever. My dining partner got the pancake with Maine blueberries. It's a very cakey type of pancake. Large. I read they serve real Maine maple syrup on a site when deciding on coming here but was disappointed to see they charge an extra $2.50. Hmmmmm Service was lacking. I feel like they were short handed or servers over working too many tables. I got up to get my own Tobasco sauce since there was nobody around and my sandwich was half eaten while waiting for someone to come by. Overall, I left wanting more. Not fulfilled from the hype I had read in other reviews. Very mundane place. I would not go back. Cannot recommend this place.

When we finally came during the off season, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity since wait times were shorter. The wait on a Saturday afternoon was about 15-20 minutes. I will say - I had high hopes for Hot Suppa. Between my fiance and I, we ordered the waffle, side of corned beef hash, and the fried green tomatoes eggs benny. The corned beef hash here is excellent - that I do have to acknowledge. I was a bit underwhelmed by the fried green tomatoes though. The tomatoes were just okay, but the excessive hollandaise sauce really just made the whole dish waaay too heavy. It was also just messy. Service was slow & our waitress tended to disappear for long periods of time. Coffee & water refills both took a long time. Parking here is difficult but not impossible. Most spots are only for an hour or so.

They take reservations, even for breakfast/brunch, and I highly recommend making one, especially if you'd like a spot on their very-cool covered patio. Even if you don't, and even if you have to wait a few mins for a seat, don't be deterred - it's so worth it! The feeling inside feels like a celebration of culture, like a Mexican restaurant got a glow-up. Big comfy booths invite you to sit and stay a while. The menu is small but thoughtful and the drinks, from the horchata and cold brew to the cocktails, are nicely curated and feature delightfully unique and seasonal ingredients. My mango coffee cocktail was nothing I would've ordered on my own but I took a recommendation from the bartender and was blown away by how well the flavors played together. Anything you get to eat will be exceptional. If I'm not mistaken, this is the sister restaurant to Teralingua. If you know anything about their brisket, you have a slight idea of what delights await you! Most recently, we tried the brisket grilled cheese birria-style, with consomme on the side for dipping. Let me tell you, my eyes rolled so far back in my head, I lost a contact lens. The service, even at the bar, was wonderful - Jenny was friendly but chill, helpful, quick. A sheer delight during times when great service seems like a relic of the past. We always leave stuffed with a smile on our face.

We decided to come here for coffee and snacks before heading to the park for the morning with our toddler. We arrived around 9:30am and must've gotten lucky bc we walked right up to the bar and were helped by a super friendly gal and ordered coffees, a few pastries from their display case (I got a huge chocolate chip cookie cup stuffed with Nutella for later) and my husband ordered the Pastrami on Rye sandwich to go. We sat and waited about 15 minutes and watched the crowd grow as about 20 people came into order to go drinks and snacks and a few chose to sit at the patio tables out front for dine in. By the time we left they were warning folks that the kitchen was taking about 45 minutes for food bc of so many orders at once and take out. It's charming inside, with a large bar area with about 15 bar seats, and a few small tables. Cute decor on the walls all Duck-themed and friendly staff who were really bustling. Of note: the Pastrami sandwich my husband ordered was AMAZING. One of the top ones he's had and he orders them everywhere. The pastrami was hot and fresh and the rye was perfectly toasted. My 2-year old loved it. Ha! They have a nice menu of food items inside - with sandwiches, specials, and lunch/dinner options it looked like. I took a bit to get our food but they were busy so I et that. Once home I got into the Yinzer first. Let me tell you this thing was saucy but I like it that way. I will say I was a big fan of the English Muffin, probably on of the best I have had. I also had plenty of Chipped Ham which was rather tasty. Now the BLT I wasn't the biggest fan of. Would for sure come back if I was in town again because they have a lot of tasty sounding sandwiches.
