I actually called earlier that day to see if I could make a reservation the young lady who answered the phone said no just come in. Well my family and I arrived and we waited 90 minutes before seated and then finally got seated food orders were taken but they had to prepare my husband food in the back the rest of the family was almost finished eating when my husband's food came out. I have written this review two times. And they keep taking it down. I will continue to post until they fix their terrible attitudes. I came here with my husband who is in the military. I don't get to see him often, in fact this was my first time seeing him in 11 months. We have come to their Monday half price sushi many times. Their sushi is sub par but it is always a great memory for us. We arrived at 8:50 and were told there would be a 10 minute wait. We didn't mind and sat down. We saw multiple tables sat before we were and we showed up before them. I go up to the front and see that they skipped us 4 times and ask to be seated because they skipped us. There was no problem however when we were told it was finally 9:30. Our waiter took 10 minutes to get to us. Then tells us we have 3 MINUTES to put in all of our food. We rushed to put in our food and at this point I was a little upset. Our waiter never checked up on us. Never got us refills. Never asked how our food was. Never even told us his name and kept going in and out of the front door of the restaurant not paying us any mind. I then asked to talk to a manager because this was unacceptable at this point. When I told him about our experience he told us it was our fault for coming so late. He doesn't care that we were skipped. Lastly, he told us if we didn't like the experience then not to come back. We will not but I wish people knew about my experience so when they are faced with the same they are not surprised. Terrible management. He must be new to the restaurant setting. read more

Went for my daughter's birthday and it was fun. The kids were thrilled to get boba teas and our hibachi chef was funny. He sang my daughter happy birthday with an onion volcano. The waitress also came at the end and sang happy birthday with a tambourine and the robot cat. We had both hibachi and sushi and food was all good. They were even careful and helpful with my son's food allergies. They even took some pictures for us. read more

My first time going with my son and my daughter-in-law they took me out for Christmas Day and I had the veggie no I had the fried rice and veggie vegetables double vegetables oh my God that stuff was so delightful I enjoyed everything. The entire dinner was the bomb they were appointed with getting you your food and your drinks and it was very delightful also. Staff said it wasn't there, but after speaking to management, the iPad mysteriously reappeared after the area had already been searched. Came here with my family on 11/11. The Ambiance at this place was amazing. It had all the wow factors. The hibachi chef was funny and nice the waitress sang happy birthday service was great as well every one quick and attentive. But what i went there to actually spend money on... the food and drinks were sub-par. Ordered the delicious peach sake and it tasted great but after 3 orders of me drinking this completely by myself i was perfectly fine. Not a buzz or a tipsy or anything. Seems like something is wrong or they're diluting their sake. The food itself wasn't the tastiest and the sushi roll was stacked on top of each other so the toppings were only on the top 2 pieces, so the bottom 6 pieces didn't have sauce or topping. read more

Volcano Steak & Sushi was pretty nice and I'll probably go again. Went on a Saturday night and there were quite a few people waiting. We opted for a table and got seated pretty quickly but be prepared for a wait if you opt for the hibachi. Actually the hibachi seems to be the way to go if you decide to dine here since most of the space seems to be set up for hibachi. The table for regular dining almost seem to be an afterthought. That being said, the dining experience was pretty nice. Our waitress was pleasant and the bento boxes we ordered contained a lot of food. The robots were a cute touch. Came randomly with my family on a Friday around 5:00pm, the front staff were sweet and welcoming. As we sat, we were greeted immediately by Bella and she was a great server very friendly. Loved our hibachi chef Alex and the food was delicious! To my surprise I enjoyed the sushi rolls as well. We had UN roll and volcano. I had a few nigiri pieces and the uni was good and the toro was perfectly fatty. Later on we had David Which May be the manager whom came to check on us. Such a nice gentlemen. Its such a bad experience that I have to make my first yelp review on it. Just to be clear, the server was very friendly and checks on you every now and then but the hostess was uninviting when she walked us to our table. Asides from our server, the other staff started switching between random music and playing with the volume and it was really annoying. Food wise, this is one of the worse sushi/hibachi restaurants I've been to. This one star goes to the friendly staff and the medium steak they got correct. I got the steak bento box and the rice was dry, almost bad, steak unseasoned, California roll tasted like rice and cucumbers. Salmon hand-roll and Tuna Crunch Roll was fishy and the tempura flakes are old. We also got the ramen, the soup was creamy but bland, egg was hard boiled, noodles had no bite just soggy, char-siu was all fat, no meat, no texture, just mushy. read more

Volcanoes in Duluth is much better than we were expecting. Food was really good although could have been hotter. Salad was plain but cold and clean and great. Moms hibachi shrimp chicken very good. I loved the waiter but when my wife got the shrimp tempura she didn't like it and I asked if they could take it off because she took 1 bite and didn't want anymore after that. The manager got sassy and sarcastic and told us that it wasn't made incorrectly so he couldn't refund it but I explained to them again that she only bit into it once and realized she didn't want it and they said that it was nothing that they could do. The fried oysters weren't good at all and was also extremely overpriced. I bit into it and I realized the oysters weren't even dried before they were fried. It's only aesthetically pleasing because the food is extremely bland and overpriced. The only thing that was good here was my sushi and the drinks. Definitely my first and last time going. read more

This place is all flash and NO FLAVOR. My daughter and I went and we both got the shrimp/chicken and vegetable tempura. When it came it, presentation wise, it was nice, but then we tasted it, NONE of the food had any salt or seasoning on it whatsoever. The dipping sauce that they give is sickeningly sweet, and the salad dressing is gross. I finished one shrimp, no vegetables, and had two spoonfuls of bland fried rice. My daughter didn't even finish 1 piece of chicken, and no vegetables and one spoonful of rice. We paid sixty dollars and left it all there on the table. It was disgusting. This place is beautiful! Service was amazing. Upon arrival, I thought, lot of people here, no way service will be great. I was so wrong. We were here for my granddaughter's 13th birthday dinner and I can't wait to return. I kept looking around trying to see everything and each time, I missed something:). I placed an order for sushi. I ordered 2 vegetarian rolls and one meat roll. We were told 25 mins. It was more like 40 mins. When I got it they put it in one container to be cheap and the sauce from the meat roll was oozing on my vegetarian roll. When I complained he basically told me there was nothing he could do and that's how they package it. I can't eat food touching meat. Every other sushi place puts the rolls separately. He was blaming me for not saying to separate it. I've never experienced this so I thought it goes without saying. I asked him to expedite remaking it and he was just grinning the whole time, no apology. I asked him how long to remake and he basically said I had to be below everyone. He wouldn't give me a wait time or anything. This isn't the first time they've had bad customer service. David, the manager from his accounting, was very rude. I don't recommend this place. read more
