Returning to my SO's favorite Roman restaurant in Milan. Looks like the interior has been changed up, and plenty of outdoor seating on the sidewalk. Make a reservation! Even for lunch. We went in to make a reservation but they found a spot for us in the outdoor seating area so we lucked out. Plenty of heaters kept us toasty warm. That bag of bread they put on the table has plenty of tasty options. My SO's pasta was just as he remembers it. Well done. I'm sure we'll return next time in Milan. On street parking if you can find it or parking garage. Bit of a walk from the Moscova metro stop but it's a straight shot.

Found this place by walking by one night and noticed alot of people waiting outside to get in. When we went there a few nights later and yowza....so glad we went. Let's get into it. All local Italians so you know it's good. Food is cooked Roman style. It has been the best food we've tasted in Milan. Waitress was super helpful to us Americans, food was amazing so yes we will be going back once if not twice during our stay here. Wine is so affordable you can get a bottle each and why not stretch the night out and enjoy the time with the one your with. They have a few outside seats and let me tell you I'm all about eating outside when in Italy but the inside called to me. It was busy, hectic, loud with Italian patrons and music which made for a great atmosphere. Love when we find a great place!

Great local find while visiting Milano. It was the perfect evening stroll from our hotel to Valemose Bene. Quaint Italian atmosphere, catchy Italian music, amazing Roman Italian menu, attentive service-our waitress was helpful with English and food description, and all enjoyed over great wine! The Artichokes were well cooked, Rigatoni con la pajata had amazing buttery taste, Abbacchio Al Forno con patate/lamb was cooked to perfection with hint of smoky flavor and only €20! One of the best meals we had while in Milano!

    Carbonara

This was top 5 meals of my life. Best carbonara ever, and I've been in Italy for a month in various cities, even at some very expensive places that cannot compare. The house red and white were perfect to pair, and finishing with the tartino cioccolato con gelato was fantastic. Truly a hidden gem and could not recommend more.

We were the only tourists there and that's a good sign as the restaurant was packed with locals. I felt lucky to get a table without a reservation. The restaurant is dark and cozy. This is a place where you go to celebrate or simply share a bottle of wine. The food is simple, tastes delicious, and the menu is varied. We ordered the caprese salad which they served on an elevated tray similar to what pizzas are served on. The Mozzarella di Bufala and tomatoes were cut into wedges instead of circles. Nothing too exciting. For our main plates we got the Gnocchi al Peconzola and Abbachio al forno con patate. The gnocchi had a cheese sauce similar to the taste of gorgonzola. I believe the cheese is sheep's milk and was soft and creamy. Great potato pasta dish! The lamb was excellently seasoned and was a generous portion. I would have given this restaurant five stars but half of the dish was gamey while other parts of the lamb weren't. For dessert, I was handed a menu written on a wooden chalkboard as big as half my body. Although full, we went for the panna cotta alla fragola and tiramisu. Both amazing and a great way to end the meal. The staff is young, nice, friendly, and has a sense of humor. Volemose Bene was my favorite meal in Milan. Although, not traditional Milanese cuisine, it was nice to try Roman Italian food in Milan.

Get out of here! This was spectacular experience ! We came at 11.45 to check the restaurant and we did not know it is so popular, Yelp found it. We had to wait till 12pm before they were ready for us! We were the first in the restaurants and seated next to the window, manager knew we were there first! 10 minutes later restaurant was packed! Water from tap is free! Great! We went full monty for lunch, primo and secondi! This was the best pasta, meat and fish we had during our trip in Milano! I have to note if you come late you will have to wait in line for 20 minutes or more ! When we were leaving people approx 30 people were waiting to be seated! Yes you are cramped in the restaurant but it is traditional family like run business! All people that come there are family! Go check it out it is so much fun!

I literally wrote 4 paragraphs and Yelp glitched and deleted my draft…read more Please make sure to ask them to charge you in Euros because we didn't get the option by the owner and he charged us in USD which costs us more. He's been in business for 44 years so obviously he knows but still charged us in USD which is kinda shady IMO. We decided to dine here due to all the reviews and photos posted. When we approached the restaurant, the owner immediately said "Ni Hao" which I thought was kinda racist. What if I wasn't Chinese? Mink felt offended but we committed to dining there so we did. He asked if we wanted to dine inside or outside. Since it was chilly for Mink, we opted to dine inside where it was 90% full due to a Chinese tour group. They all had the same dish so we figured preset menu for them. I wasn't sure what I was going to get but since they all ate the Ossobuco con risotto alla Milanese in Crosta, I decided to order that as it was one of the dishes I was considering. Mink ordered their Spaghetti ai frutti di mare. I'm not sure why but the owner exclusively took care of us. He also made it a point to bring a photo over of Jay Chow saying he's dined there 4-5 times in the last few years. Maybe that's why the Chinese tour group eats there? He was arrogant enough to brag about how much money he's made because of Jay Chow. There were lots of celebrities that dined there from what gathered looking at his wall of fame. I bet he didn't charge any of them in USD *smh* The Ossobuco con risotto alla Milanese in Crosta was really good and probably the best we had in Milan. They must be able to make this dish with their eyes closed at this point with the daily Chinese tour groups dining there. Their Spaghetti ai frutti di mare was decent but didn't have as much seafood in the dish as other restaurants and the flavor was about average. The bread and EVOO offered was legit though! I loved it and I normally hardly ever eat the complimentary bread. Food is good overall and customer service felt extra. If we didn't get charged USD, wasn't getting bragged to about how much money he made off Jay Chow and wasn't greeted with a "Ni Hao" then the place is 4 stars. Since all that did happened, 2.5 stars.
