Most of our dishes were or rested on amazingly cooked risotto, as befits Milan, and it was all deeply flavored and just a bit chewy and made you gain weight just looking at it, so saucy were they all. I had ossobucco (over a bed of yellow, creamy risotto), and it was as good as any I've ever had. The servings were also sizable. Three of five in our party took a good lunch-worth home. The place has a full bar, and, I suspect, a wine list -- but the house red was more than up to the task. There were also many bottles of ZenVero around the back room -- a new Milanese ginger liqueur that was actually quite tasty (in a ginger-cello sort of way). SERVICE - Friendly and helpful and efficient. We walked in without a reservation at 7:30 (opening) on a Wednesday night. They seated our party of 5 -- but by the time we left, the place was pretty full. Reservations recommended. AMBIANCE - In other reviews you'll see notes about the bright lighting, and they are not entirely wrong -- if you are looking for dark, romantic corners, this is probably not the place for you. On the other hand, we could see our food. And if my mother-in-law had come along for the meal, she wouldn't have needed to use the flashlight on her phone to read the menu. NET-NET - I would go back there tomorrow night. I would go back there every night for the rest of our stay. I am flagging this location to come back to should I ever be in Milan again ... or Turin, or Bologna. A dining delight.

Fried Risotto- Nice and crisp with a creamy interior. The risotto has a delicate flavor enhanced by the spicy sauce. Cotoletta Milanese- The portions were huge! The veal is perfectly cooked and juicy inside with a crispy breading outside. The side of lemon and savory butter they provide adds a burst of tang and freshness. The house chips were hot and superb. A milanese specialty! Cookie Platter- This was a lovely surprise! They give you a variety of flavors and textures like chocolate, almond, a little citrus. Chef Cesare Battisti cooks traditional Milanese and Lombard food with a modern perspective and I loved it. We did the tasting menu at lunch and the portions were genuinely generous. First they provide shared plates: whipped ricotta, smoked alpine char, zucchini olive salad, and a panzanella salad. The last one surprised me the most. I always expect panzanella to be bread-heavy. This one had almost none. It was cherry confit tomatoes, peaches, and was bright and clean. That dish alone was worth going back for. Individual courses followed. The vitello tonnato was unique (I don't normally have tuna sauce with means) and it was done well. The risotto alla Milanese was homy and savory as the traditional Milan dish. Dessert was a summer panettone with candied apricots, summer fruit, and rosemary. This was my first time trying Panettone. Ive seen it everywhere but never actually consumed any. The Panettone was light but rich in baking spices and fruit forward flavor. It paired well with the apricot sorbet served along side. The wine list leans natural, not always my thing, so I skipped the pairing and ordered a local sparkling to start and a heartier red with the meal. If you are looking to go, make sure to book early. We were lucky to get a 2:30pm slot at lunch to try out this menu. The kitchen is open for lunch through 4 pm and then dunner starts back up at 6:00pm.
