Bigger pool for adults and older kids
    Topi H.

This was a last minute thing, it was hot and we didn't want to go to TX Typhoon so we decided to check out Volente Beach. So glad we did!! The kids pirate ship play area is adorable and I love that it's small and contained, water is probably 18inches deep so I feel safe having the kids run around and everyone seemed super friendly and laid back. It felt like a mini vacation! The bigger pool has a volleyball play area and a little obstacle course for the kids. It's fairly shaded by trees and there are chairs and big beach loungers with umbrellas all around. There's also 2 big slides that are perfect for older kids and adults. There's something for everyone! Drinks are super reasonably priced and entry was $15 for military or veteran and $20 regular admission. We really enjoyed our time there, I like that there are servers and how easy it is to just order from the QR code at each table. Each pool (kid and bigger pool) has a bar nearby, service was extremely friendly and the ambience was exactly what we needed on a hot Texas day. My only critique is that their piña colada wasn't the best but I could probably do with a little less sugary drink anyhow lol. Keep in mind that the parking area is a block away from the park, they do offer a shuttle service but it's an easy walk as well. We walked there and shuttled on the way back since the driver was waiting and available. We didn't check out the actual beach but that's next in our list!

I LOVE this place! Super fun place. A lot of people don't even know it exists. Great wings, great vibes, lots of fun for all ages!

Great way to end a summer! Volente Beach has been a staple of Austin lakeside recreation for decades. Fair food and drink prices and a great way to get some energy out of the kids.

A glass that was in the cabinet vs. a glass we cleaned upon arrival.

Extremely unprofessional owner. Very dismissive of concerns and safety for customers.

"A boutique waterpark" is what the lady at the admissions booth called it... PERFECT!! Lol. I wasn't really sure what to expect from this place after reading the Yelp reviews and listening to the word-of-mouth reviews, which almost all seemed to be pretty discouraging, but I'm so glad we decided to go anyway! My fiance and I decided to visit on the 4th of July. Parking was decent; plenty of space, accessible, and within reasonable walking distance from the park. Figuring out where the actual entrance to this place was, was kind of a challenge though. There were no obvious signs that instructed interested patrons to "PURCHASE TICKETS HERE." Because of this, we accidentally entered through the restaurant and took the scenic route all around the park, before backtracking to the front where we were finally able to sign waivers, pay and put on wristbands-- that was annoying. We changed (no mirrors in the restrooms, ladies!! Ugh!), rented lockers, and took to the waterslides. Now folks, because this is a "boutique waterpark," you're not going to find the plethora of slides that you would find at a Schlitterbahn, for instance. No folks, you get 4 slides. They were entertaining enough, and no massive crowds or lines on a major holiday, so that was plus for sure! The really fun areas were the pool (lake water with some chlorination) and the beach. The beach area is small with a limited amount of beach chairs, but large enough to enjoy a nice float or swim with your family and friends (inner tubes provided). For the babies, there is a separate kiddie pool. Overall, I'd say this place is fun for all ages and an all around good time, as long as you're not trying to compare it to an average waterpark, because that it is not... it's a "boutique waterpark", people... lol!! Love that. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back.

Do not fall for the way they make this place sound online. It is a run down dirty place. We went for "Jaws on the water" movie and each paid $45. They said they will not be selling as many tickets this year because of Covid and we would be social distancing, but we were packed in the water like sardines. They mention several bars and restaurants, but there was a food truck with gross hamburgers, a tent that 2 ladies had set up with fajita tacos and the 2 bars with lines a dozen people long all afternoon and 1 bartender. They told us to purchase armbands so once in water, a waiter would come by and get our drink order, however, we did not see not one waiter and we held our neon light up most of the movie, thus we were each left with around $22 worth of armbands. Once movie was over, hundreds of people and their tubes are rushing to get out and it's pitch black. They had no lights to turn on so we could see where we were walking. They are all about the $$$.

    The beach, sand, boats

We had so much fun, the view was breathtaking. It's a nice summer vacation. Me and my friends had the best time.

Let me preface by saying I never write bad reviews. But for safety reasons I had to write this one,…read moreand if you don't have time to read it all let me just start by saying please just go literally anywhere else for your child's safety. So first of all, there are 4 larger water slides. And probably 3 or so smaller ones. They have a total of 2 lifeguards on watch. One lifeguard sits at a chair "watching over" the smaller, right side of the park. And the other one switching between the top of the larger water slides every so often depending on which is busier. There are multiple lifeguards but only 2 out on the park floor at a time, all very young teenagers. Not a single adult working there. I think that is a huge problem in itself but let me go on. I watched my 4 yr old like a hawk the whole time we were there because the lifeguards obviously weren't paying attention, lots of older kids running around, etc. I watch my son go down the larger slide. I'm waiting at the bottom for him for 5 minutes. Still hasn't came out. I go to the top to look down the slide where there should've been a lifeguard but no one to be found. I go to the lifeguard sitting in the chair at the front and tell him that my 4 yr old went down and has not came out yet and I think he's stuck in the slide. He ARGUES WITH ME and says "no I've been watching and there's no one in the slide" UMMMM WHAT?!! Obviously realizing they could care less about my child or any children there, and I don't have time to argue because I'm worried about my 4 yr old, I rush back to the top of the slide and go down it and what do u know, my son was stuck in the middle of the pitch black loop of the slide, terrified and crying. This is totally unacceptable, I don't even have words. Hopefully that's enough to let you know this is not the place to go but if not, let me move on to my next complaint. There was a group of older kids constantly trying to climb up the larger water slides in the back that no one can see unless you walk back there. Which in the 3 hours I was there not one lifeguard walked back there or even glanced to check on anything. The first time I notified the lifeguard about the kids going up the slide, she went back there and told them that's not allowed. Then they kept doing it and multiple other parents complained as well. The second time I complained that they were still doing it and almost seriously injured my 4 yr old, the lifeguard said "oh I know I already told them to stop". Ummmm okay??? So you're just going to keep letting them do it putting all the other kids at danger?? At MINIMUM their parent should've been notified but in my opinion they should've been asked to leave after the 3rd complaint/telling them to stop. Honestly I could go on and on but I don't have all day. I truly just hope they increase the amount of lifeguards and hire experienced lifeguards that actually care about children's safety and at minimum have one adult employee on-site.

We had a dedicated area with two picnic tables. Lots of kids there that day. Lots of chloramines in the air. My biggest complaint. Chloramines are chlorine that has bonded with organic matter and chloramine gas is released. It does not indicate cleanliness. That cannot be judged by smell but smell does indicate no free chlorine is available to sanitize. The odor was intense. It burned your eyes. It stayed on your clothes and hair afterward. The entire drive back home to DFW I was smelling chloramine and I never got wet. Anyway. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Birthday boy loved it. His friends loved it. We didn't get in the water. We were being checked on frequently by staff. The water wasn't deep anywhere that I saw. You could see the kids easily. Slides and lots of typical splash pad things. It was a nice little place. The only complaint was the strong smell. We didn't buy food there so I can't speak to that. Overall it was a nice indoor splash park so despite the intense smell, I'm giving 3 stars.

This caused my booking to be cancelled and I had to rebook and reverify. VERY inconvenient but everything got worked out. When you pay $900+ per night you don't want to be inconvenienced while trying to book. The Reserve is a nice community, but like all managed "premier planned" suburban areas they are very Nazi-ish with rules and enforcement. Again, when you're paying over $900 per night it's very off-putting and insulting to constantly be reminded of the rules. They treat you like you're a college kid trying to sneak and throw a frat party while you're parents are away for the weekend. Our rental even had cameras on the house that were actively being monitored (details below). VALUE: I don't normally complain about price so I won't do it here. Let's just say that this place is expensive. I voluntarily paid the money but it's a high price. HOUSE: Nice place, very clean. Premium decor - Texas modern rustic. Complimentary prosecco in the fridge upon arrival was a nice touch. Bring your own food/drinks/condiments (salt, pepper, etc.)/ice. All utensils for just about any kind of cooking and everything needed to have nice dinner parties were there. We had an issue with POOL: I did a cabana rental for 2 days at $50 per day. Rentals include a complimentary pitcher of beer or margarita per day. Pool was nice and in good shape. Lazy river, kids pool and infinity pool as well as swim up bar and snack bar are all part of the pool. You aren't allowed to bring any alcoholic beverages, food, or coolers into the pool area. They did allow us to bring an individual cup or water bottle. They will search your bags for food/alchohol/etc. if you bring large bags. LOCATION: Be prepared to drive 40 minutes to anywhere. There's enough restaurants, entertainment, etc. 45 minutes away. All-in-all this was a good place to stay. The main reason this is not a 5-Star review is because I was contacted by TurnKey with a threatening call because the management/owner were watching us on the Arlo/Netgear camera (Nazi-ish) on the back patio (there's a camera on the front porch and back patio) and thought that one of my guests was on the back patio smoking. None of us are smokers and it was insulting for them to accuse us of smoking (I'll say it again for emphasis... when you're paying over $900 per night).

This was the nicest marina I have seen in the Austin area for sure! I could tell everything is taken care of with the utmost care possible. The marina is treated somehow as well so that the cobwebs and spiders don't take over your boat and slip area, which is super nice and convenient. There is also room for outdoor kitchens and patio furniture at the front of each slip. People have grills and stuff out there too. I gathered that it is a thing to just hang out at your slip area and cook out with your friends and family and you may or may not even take the boat out. After we took the boat out and came back in we road the golf cart up to the lazy river. This is where it really started to feel like a resort for me. They have a decent sized lazy river that is so much fun! There is a swim up bar on one side and the bar opens to the deck area on the other side. There are plenty of tables to sit at and chase lounge chairs in the sun and shaded for total comfort and relaxing. I had a few perfectly made margaritas from the bar and had a wonderful time hanging out with my family and floating the lazy river! The Reserve property is actually pretty huge! They also have cabins you can rent out, tennis courts and a park area. There is lots of places to hike around as well.
