I needed the clockspring of my 2015 Passat repaired. The good news was that the repair was under warranty, and the work could be done at no cost. I learned the news from an excellent video sent to me by the expert sales manger Jordan and the highly skilled mechanic Omar. Both men treated the matter with utmost professionalism. They also examined the car's interior as a whole and recommended repairs in a very convincing but not "pushy" manner. I could not have had a better experience. I brought my eGolf in for a 40k mile maintenance. I also brought it in because I got hit with the dreaded VW trunk latch problem (and mine is one-step more complicated because my emergency release doesn't work). I also told them I have a leak in my wiper fluid line (froze over the winter). Good: they were fine when I said I just did my own cabin filter and I did just have to put in a new 12v battery myself. They were friendly enough and the facilities are nice. Bad: There wasn't really any follow up on the maintenance. I had to ask a bunch of question like is my HV battery okay, any defective cells? ("Yep it's fine" was the answer). I got a survey afterwards asking if I got any video footage of the repairs/maintenance so I'm not sure if I was supposed to or not? I was quoted $3k to fix the trunk because they said they would have to break the backup camera in order to acces the latch. Seems weird since you can clearly take out the panels in the trunk while the door is closed and access the latch there. They said my wiper fluid line was fine. Once I drove off, I tested it out and it was still leaking (leaking on my foot while on the pedal!) This is a very obvious leak, but somehow the mechanics missed it? They simple wrote on the paper work that the "wiper fluid was working". Well yeah I'm able to spray it, but the problem is it's leaking INTO the cabin. So I had to bring the car back and the woman was nice enough, said she would bring it back to the mechanic to look at. Bad news: apparently it would be $400-$1000 to fix because they "don't know where the leak is" and may have to take the entire dashboard out. So you would think they would check if the leak were somewhere super accessible right? If the leak were there, then they could tell me and it would be on the lower end of the quoted cost. If they couldn't see the leak in the accessible spot, then they could conclude that they probably have to remove the dash and then it would cost on the upper end of the quote. Nope, they just told me and sent me on my way. And worst of all, when I went to pay for the maintenance, I was told they would charge me 2% to use a credit card! NEVER in my life have I ever heard of a car dealership nickel and diming customers for a credit card. And that's on hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars of service! Some way to treat customers right? So I had to move some money into a checking account like a goon just so I could avoid a 2% fee. A good way to make your customer feel like a moron. When VW advisors texted me asking me to fill out a survey, I told them my concern with the credit card and they simply responded "It's company policy. Credit cards cost us 6% plus to process. We try to keep the processing fee as low as possible. It prevents us from having to raise all of prices." Excuse me?! Since when were card processing costs my problem as a customer at a car dealership?! Simply obscene. I clarified whether this was VW company-wide policy or just that dealership and they said it was just them. So I guess that makes my decision for me: won't be going back there! read more

Our lease from Florida was ending so we decided to buy it here and it was quick and easy. Since then I've taken it back for a regular checkup a couple of times. I prefer to drop the car off at night so they can work on it in the morning. I also had a recent problem with the car-- to so i thought- it was making a weird sound- they explained to me it was the tire and nothing was wrong with it just the grooves making a weird sound because it had a slash. Absolutely no customer service after the sale! I bought a used Audi Q5 advertised online sight unseen. I told my salesman Ali that I was driving an hour and 45 minutes and just wanted to make sure the vehicle would pass inspection and emissions. He told me the car was all good. I specifically asked about the check engine light and his reply was "It's not on. We don't sell cars like that". I gave him a deposit and traveled the next day to pick the car up. The first thing I noticed was all 4 tires were bald. It was never through their shop. He lied. I waited while it went through the shop. It needed 4 tires, brakes all the way around, left front axle, lower control arm, and both front seat tracks. I negotiated a bit and still bought the car. 15 minutes into the ride home, the check engine light came on. I called Vipin (business manager) 3 times as soon as this happened, left messages, he never returned my call. 3 days into ownership I noticed there was no wheel lock key in the car. I called my salesman Ali, asked him to check with service and see if they forgot to put it back in the car and call me back. Never heard from him. Today, days later, I called and asked for the service manager. I spoke with Tom Henry. Now there's a stand-up guy. He walked me through several places to look in the car. No wheel lock key but at least he took the time to listen and help. I would not recommend buying your next car here. read more

Since 2023, my VW Atlas has been in the service department 3x for A/C issues that remain unresolved at Burlington VW. I booked an appointment at VW, and the young lady was very nice and was able to get me in within the week. I arrived at the VW service department, and the service manager, Sean, and the female coordinator were friendly, accommodating, and easy to work with. The technician was able to find the issue and sent a video explaining the process and demonstrating the resolution. We called to have service done here and couldn't get an appointment till more than a week in. We requested a loaner upon getting to the appointment for service "twice" and they said they would have one ready. We planned our day to go visit the town ahead of time and go shopping ( since it was about an hour from our home) and the service was going to take a while. When we arrived to get our loaner the service attendant said that one was not available for us and we could get shuttled back home instead. We waited outside for an hour before a car showed up blasting sex rap and wipping through the curves like its the indi 500. We had to turn on our gps to help the driver find the destination because he didn't want to use his phone. Then we called in to check on the vehicle after 4 hours of waiting before getting picked up to go back to the service station. Then a service that they told us was "under warrantee" was not and that they had to order the part and we had to come back in a week (even though they already knew what was wrong with it before we came in and could have had the part ready to save us an extra trip) Unacceptable and totally unprofessional. If you request a rental get ready to show up and not have what they promised and pay allot out of pocket too. We ended up having to call a friend who lived back home( almost an hour away) because the dealership refused to bring us back to the dealership. Go anywhere else for service with these guys or prepair to have an alternate ride. read more

Got my car towed there Saturday for a dead battery. Was told someone will look at it and get back to me. I called no one looked at it and it might have to stay till Monday. I called back but they closed for the day. Called Monday said it was getting looked at soon and would call in an hour with an update. 3 hours later no call, no update and the car was not looked at. Poor communication and no updates. Every time I called I was on hold or transferred or the phone magically got disconnected and told I would get a call and update. read more

I have no idea if this is a good dealership for getting a car or having your car serviced. I was there today but it wasn't my car, I drove it there for servicing for someone. And that's where my problem is. Their customer service area has not been reduced for capacity thereby limiting the amount of people that would be in there. I didn't count them but there's something like ten chairs, at one point there were four of us seated waiting for our cars. Someone who works there came in, sat right next to a customer and had a conversation with a different customer a row away. And the same employee came in and did that a second time with the same customer still a row away. Not social distancing six feet at all, not us in the waiting room, not the employee who should have known better. And who should have told this employee that he wasn't socially distancing, the other employee that was wandering around the halls with no mask? And he came in the customer waiting room too without a mask helping himself to a cup of coffee. Betcha he also was in the men's room at some point and probably without a mask, you know what coffee does to you! read more

This review is for their SERVICE department only. We purchased a car here and it was quick, easy , painless and we received great service. However, I took it to get serviced there for air conditioning two months after purchasing it. My service advisor, Randy, told me at 9am it should be done by late afternoon and would let me know. At 3pm I haven't heard anything so I call and he tells me they haven't gotten to it yet. He says they close at 7:45 today and will definitely be done by today and will call me. So 7pm comes around and I haven't gotten any calls. I call back AGAIN and am told randy is gone and the woman takes a message for me and assured me Randy always checks his voicemails and will call me tomorrow AM. By 11am the next morning still nothing. I try calling twice to speak to someone about my car. I get transferred to four different people and then put on hold for ten minutes. At 5pm I go to the dealership. The only person there is the service manager, Dino. Dino says he "knows nothing"about my car and the technician and Randy have already left. I expressed my concerns to him and told him about my horrible service experience and he did not seem to care/ showed no concern, was looking down at his computer . . Did not apologize. At this point, I just ask for my keys back because this place hasn't helped me once. He says "I'll see if I can find them." Then pulls up my car. Terrible terrible service. The least they can do is communicate with their customers about updates not give them the run around. Will never take my Volkswagen there again. read more

One word - Painless. That's what my experience was at Volkswagen Princeton. I had previously visited three other Volkswagen dealers in South Jersey earlier in the week in search of a CPO Golf GTI. The previous dealers were typical car dealers. You know the game, "Let me talk to my manager to see what we can do" sort of thing. The bottom line was that their GTI's were priced a little high for what they were and they wouldn't move on the price much at all. Disappointing to say the least. So I had to expand my search and I found three additional VW dealers north of me with CPO GTI's in stock. Princeton was the northernmost dealer so I figured I stray there and work my way south towards home. Volkswagen Princeton is a little over an hour from my home but what attracted me was their advertised price. I kept looking for the fine print indicating that the listed price was with $2,000 down or something like that, but I couldn't find it. It wasn't there. I sent an email to check if the advertised vehicle was still in stock and got a call the next morning from the internet sales manager letting me know that it was. I arrived right when they opened at 9:00 on Saturday morning. Two hours and twenty minutes later I was on my way home in my new-to-me GTI. Matt was my salesperson and he was awesome. Very professional and honest. He took his time letting me compare two GTIs he had in stock and at no time did I feel any pressure. The internet price was the price on the car and Matt took some more off to make me happy. Overall, a painless and pleasant experience. I walked in 15 minutes before closing time on a Friday. I had seen the car advertised on line at a great price and knew I wanted to purchase it. All of the sales staff was with other people so I had the pleasure of dealing directly with the sales manager Abe. No high pressure sales, no bullshit. I'm thinking since this is NJ after all bs just isn't something people tolerate up here. This Jersey girl doesn't, that's for sure! I have to write about my experience at VW in Princeton! I was interested in a Volkswagon Passat which I test drove at the Hamilton VW dealer, unfortunately was unable to make a deal. My boyfriend researched in the area and made a call to this dealership. He was connected to Zak Asad who had knowledge of the inventory at the store, was impressed.He let us know of a great deal on the lot that just came in for a great price. I came in and met Zak and being in Customer Service myself liked the interaction and confidence he exuded in making a deal happen that day great price for my trade. We have a less-than-three-year-old VW still under power train warranty that recently starts to have check oil level warning. Three times in a row the service department refused to check the engine, and just topped off the oil and called it a day. In our another older VW, we had a faulty component that Princeton VW refused to service. So I went to a nearby VW dealer. It turned out VW of America extended the warranty on the component in my car. All the info is in the VW's own central database. Princeton VW didn't even bother to type in my car VIN number to look it up. Maybe they did, since in their computer system has all my car's info, but pretended that the warranty extension didn't exist. Very shady and dishonest. So many long reviews on Yelp read like rants, so I'm going to be as precise as I can. This is specifically about their SERVICE, not their car sales. After a year and a half, I can pretty clearly give PVW three stars. Location The location is clutch. Right off 206. It's a bit farther from my house than I'd like, but the times that I can't get my wife to drop me off they offer a service. It's only supposed to take you to Princeton, but they've been cool giving wiggle room to Lawrenceville. Service Associates I've worked with both Dino and David and they're both solid guys. They tell it to you straight and let you know what needs to be done and what can wait. My only quibble might be that I'd like them to call me back more quickly when I leave a VM. But they're really great overall so I don't think it's a major issue--I'm sure. they're busy with lots of other clients. Waiting Area Is sweet. I've worked here for a few hours drinking the free coffee the provide in some comfortable chairs. If you're just going to be here for a few hours, this is a good place to hang out. Hours Their hours are about average. After Hours Their after hours are not great. I've worked with shops who have after hour numbers you can call to get a reality check on what you should do with your car. This place does not. If you use the phone system and don't have your service associate's extension you have to use dial-by-name. Otherwise when you call service after hours it just keeps ringing and ringing. Coupons They offer digital coupons but they aren't anything special. Don't expect to get any great breaks by waiting around for incentives--unless you replace all four of your tires. Service Unfortunately, and most importantly, this is their weakness. Half of the service I've had has been half-assed. One time they adjusted something in my car so the lights were disconnected. I found this out driving home in twilight--thank god I wasn't stuck at night with lights that didn't work. Another time I dropped a ton of cash on replacing my heating system. They did something which made the horn go off when I made a sharp turn. I returned the car to fix it, and had to bring it back a second time because they didn't do it right. Ultimately, there were issues that happened to the car after the work I had done which could have been foreseen. It's not their job to do this, but it would have been nice to know. Price This is not a cheap shop. I've compared rates to Longwood Motors near my in-laws (who specialize in VWs), and PVW is about 10-15% more expensive across the board. They may have parity compared to other VW-owned shops, but it's not your least expensive option. That said, if you push them they can offer aftermarket parts that might make things cheaper. Do you really need rotors and brake pads from VW? No--probably not. If you mention this to them they can usually work with other options--but you have to bring it up yourself. read more

Awful service. I didn't believe car dealerships would try to pull one over on you until I went here. I was at school when my car key went missing and I had to get the car towed to program the spare key. Princetone Volks was the closest, so we went there. Talk about an enormous mistake!!! I am a female with a vested interest in cars. When he called to tell me that I needed $4,000 worth of repairs to the computer because my car door wouldn't open, I was skeptical at best. Instead, I crawled in through the passengers side and took it to Flemington Volks. They have always been good to me there. I explained that Pton Volks had me pay over $100 to open up the door and look on the inside to determine what was wrong and why it wouldn't open, but that I had a feeling they did no such thing. Turns out, it was a cable that got unplugged. Princeton Volks didn't even do the work I had paid them to do and instead tried to get me to pay for a bunch of crap my car didn't even need. The man who called me, I assume the mechanic, was rude, condescending and made me so angry I wanted to punch him through the phone. Service Department is a nightmare... Very limited parking on premises. The Service Department rarely answers the phone. I brought my 2016 Jetta 5 speed manual transmission in for a service appointment for a grinding second gear. It took a month to diagnose the transmission as needing to be replaced. Another 2 weeks to wait for a new transmission to be shipped from Toronto. Then I get a call to pick it up, only the warranty and service invoice wasn't ready. Service rep took my email info to send later. Waited a few days and no invoice delivered yet. By far the worst car service I've experienced. VW will not be seeing future business from me. I found a car that I like and communicated with Wasif (Wally) Baba, internet sales manager. I went to see the car and offered 300$ less than advertised price (around $23000) and I was turned down with plenty of explanation (its lowest price on the market, we would lose money if we do that etc.) I left and bought a car in other dealership. Next day Mr. Baba contacted me saying that he actually agreed to lower the price $500. What a nonsense. They lost business for $300. read more

Update to my previous review- While the radio problem was never resolved, and we still decided to get rid of the car via the buy-back program, the service department did accommodate us during the transition. We were given a loaner car to use, and the techs there brought the car to working order so that it could be traded in. Can't even begin to describe how disappointed I am with Volkswagen Princeton. I am a loyal VW and Audi driver and have always bought my cars to the dealership to get serviced and repaired. I recently purchased a second hand Audi and I bought it in to get a valve cover gasket replacement. I drive the car in and it was running well. I knew that this car has oil consumption issues and when I mentioned the civil suit settlement they said the car had done too many miles for them to replace the parts and fix the issue. So that was ok. So I said ok let's get the valve cover gasket repaired and I will live with the oil consumption issue. I got a call from them later in the day saying that they would not touch my car because it had been handled by too many non Audi mechanics by the previous owner. They told me that they didn't even move my car or touch it.. but I come to find my car won't start and it is in a different car park. They flat out lied to my face and I am having to tow my car home. I was bringing my 2017 Touareg here to get serviced but after this I will never bring another vehicle to them. Neither should you. read more

I was in the service center recently, I own a VW. The service manager is either incompetent or untruthful, neither of which are good for a car buyer. Let me explain: Through conversation the service manager (the head of the dealership according to their website) actually told me that they have absolutely no idea where their cars are coming from. Like literally, the trucks that deliver all their cars - this dealership and the actual service manager running the place(!) has no idea where these cars come from! No paper trail, no one signs anything when they drop the cars off, no idea who the drivers are or which companies they work for. I was dumbfounded, I mean how can you have confidence as a car buyer if the dealership does not know where the cars are coming from! So I pressed a bit and learned that the dealership also has no security surveillance! A car dealership in 2019 has no cameras! I would NOT want to leave my car for service there without any surveillance - should something happen to the car, even if the dealership does something, no one would ever know because they have no cameras. I'm still in disbelief but what are the options to believe? Either the service manager is a complete idiot and perhaps doesn't have any kind of paper trail for when they get their cars delivered, or he was lying to me(?). Neither one is a great option. If he's incompetent then buyer beware, do not purchase a car from here because who knows where it is coming from (is it stolen?). If he's lying then, well, you're dealing with a liar. read more

My girlfriend Morgan just had a TERRIBLE experience at the service department today. She dropped her car off yesterday at 9 am and over the course of a day and a half Is NEVER called to give an update on a standard AC Freon fix. She waits 6 hours and is told the car will be done by the end of the day. No call. She calls that night and is assured the service associate Randy will call her back the next morning. By 11 am, still NO CALL. She calls again and is transferred to 4 different people and put on hold for 10 minutes. This is day 2. No one should have to call 3 times and not receive any communication or update. She is a working professional going to school and lives 45 minutes away. The level of blatant disrespect for the customer is unbelievable. But we're not done yet. She has to Uber to school (which after this fiasco, the dealership should actually pay for) and I pick her up to go to the dealership to get an update in person at 530. We are greeted by Dino who seems pleasant enough, but has absolutely no idea what she's talking about in regards to her car. He claims he "never heard anything about it." Then tells us that both Randy and the technician have left for the day. No call to inform the customer, they just left for the day because who cares about customer satisfaction right? She kindly tells him about her frustrations over the past day and a half and he, not once, apologizes or offers a remedy to the situation. He barely even looked at us, almost like a child, embarrassed looking down. A professional would instantly say, "That is unacceptable and let us try to solve this so you can get on your way." Even just a, "We are sorry that happened and I will make sure this inconvenience never happens again." He offers to text the technician and takes her cell number. I asked if I could have a number for the manager to discuss how this situation should not have happened and explain that this has been a very unsuccessful service to a customer. Dino is the manager and I was shocked. She eventually kindly asks for her keys to get it serviced somewhere else and he replies, "Let me see if I can find them."
