The sheetrock ceiling openings were cut very poorly and irregularly, and all of the removed drywall pieces were discarded. This has made the patching and repair work significantly more difficult and costly than necessary, see attached photo. A professional plumber would normally: Cut clean, standard-shaped openings (for example, rectangular sections such as approximately 1 ft × 2 ft), Minimize unnecessary damage to surrounding materials, and Keep the removed drywall pieces near the work area so they can be reused or referenced during patching. I raised these concerns with the plumber, but instead of correcting the issue, I was told that I would need to pay an additional fee to address the patching challenges caused by the original work. I do not believe it is reasonable for me to bear extra costs resulting from workmanship issues that could and should have been avoided with proper professional practices.

He was so through that he wanted to know the reason why I was requesting the work and then was also able to give me a ton of information on possibilities of why the dishwasher wasn't working. He swapped out the valve and test ed everything for leaks and just made sure I understood everything and checked everything before completing the work. The dishwasher is still broken so I still have to reach out the the warranty technician who previously came out. But Ray did let me know what I might suggest to the technician and if they weren't ab;e to get it fixed, he would be glad to come back out to see what he could do to get it solved. I met Sal, who has such a wonderful and charming personality, and it was great to meet Jack in person, too. Within an hour, I had the full analysis and estimate, and around 2:30, a couple of hours before closed, I was called and told the car wouldn't be finished, and asked if I'd like to come pick it up for the weekend (which I declined, we didn't need it!). The prices were fair, and their system of telling you what absolutely needs work versus what they recommend to be worked on was so great in helping me understand what was wrong with the car. My experience with them made me tell my husband that I'd drive to them if we ever moved out of the area. I had an appliance delivered on a Saturday but the crew was unable to hook it up for use. I searched my local NextDoor app and found multiple rave reviews about Voltyx Electrical Services. I reached out to them expecting a return call on Monday, but surprisingly Anastasia returned my call within 30 minutes. She was able to schedule an appointment for me for the following Tuesday morning. I was delightfully surprised. Arty, the electrician showed up at the beginning of the appointment time slot. We reviewed the electrical request and work site, but found an unforeseen part of the task that I had not recognized. Arty contacted his manager and jointly they were able to offer a reasonable solution so the job could be completed. He set to work and fully completed the task within the stated time frame. Arty is easy to communicate with, pleasant, professional, and left the work site clean. I highly recommend Arty, Anastasia, their manager (name unknown) because they worked as a professional team to complete my electrical request. I mentioned some concerns about installing the fan, and Oleg came on time and prepared with the needed brackets to do the install. I made an appointment for them to fix a dripping faucet, and the technician said I needed a new cartridge, and would order one. Two weeks later, they come back, and they ordered the wrong part. At this point, I told the technician where they could get the part (a local bathroom showroom), but they said it was not available there. The technician removed the cold water handle from my faucet during this visit, and told me it was okay to use the hot water, but when I did, water sprayed out of the faucet handle all over my bathroom. It continued to leak under my sink until I closed the main valve. I'm lucky I noticed this, or my home could have been damaged. I was told they could get the part in a few days, but they later contacted me (with no explanation or apology) saying it would be another two weeks. I explained I never would have started this repair if I had known it would span the thanksgiving holidays. They responded by offering to do a more expensive repair, replacing both faucets in my bathroom. I declined. After two weeks (four weeks total without a sink now) , the technician returned with the wrong cartridge. He said he could not fix my faucet and apologized very briefly. I asked the technician to just restore the sink to the way it had been before (dripping slightly from the faucet into the sink), and he said he had, but faucet handle actually dripped water beneath the sink. I called a different plumber, and they declined to do any work until I obtained the correct cartridge, which I did (from the store the Fuse plumber claimed would not have it), and they fixed my sink. This is what I expected Fuse to do, if they were not confident they could find the part.

I tried resetting all of the fuses and checking for GFCI outlets to reset, but nothing worked. I contacted LHP Electrical through Yelp and got a response within an hour. The next morning, an LHP electrician came to my house on time and fixed the garage power issue and several since-you're-here type issues in an hour or so. He really went out of his way to make sure everything was working as we expected. Highly recommended!

The fuse box was still in a bedroom closet. Well the power went out in one of the bedrooms and half of the living room while the A/C was running. Nothing was tripped so I knew it was a deeper problem. I went to the Yelp app to request a project. CA Electrical quickly responded and came out the same day. It was decided that I needed to remove the old fuse box from the bedroom closet, which is a fire hazard and have a new Siemens sub panel replacement installed in the hallway. This involved creating an opening in the bedroom closet so that the sub panel could be installed on the hallway wall. Sounded good so I paid the deposit and set a date for Saturday 7/18. The electrician arrived at 11:00 am and worked 4 hours straight removing the fuse box and installing the new sub panel. He did an awesome job and tidied up the place afterwards. The power is back on and I can run the a/c with no more problems. Couldn't be happier. Great honest company to work with. If you have an older home that needs upgrading, they can definitely do the job.

This took from October 2025 until mid-January 2026. Throughout the process I received updates and the work performed was explained in detail. I was treated with friendly and respectful service at all times. There were some hitches and they were resolved quickly. The inspections took place and the work was approved by the City of Berkeley.
