What a disappointment! This place used to be good but I guess since Covid they have decided that less is more. Seat yourself, menu on the QR code (better have a smart phone), put in your credit card info, order for the table then it gives you the option to use Apple Pay (why the need for cc info?) Food was mediocre at best. Perogies were hard and dry. Covered with a thick, pasty cheese sauce, tiny pieces of sausage, I could go on but I digress. No refills on water. Decent chow, higher than average prices. I play golf at Glendoveer quite often, being a member of their PDP Program, so I thought I had to try the latest restaurant to be located on the premises. It was a toasty day in early August, up around 100 degrees the day I was there, but their patio was comfortable and the view of the 10th hole serene until the toddler at the far end of the patio started screaming at the top of his lungs. My server, Ryan, was friendly and efficient, but when I ordered a "CAN" of the Blood Orange IPA ($6/16 oz. glass or $5/16 oz. can), he told me "we do not serve cans, they are only for take-out". I asked why cans are even an option on the "eat-in" menu if you cannot order them, but I did not receive a reply. I paid the extra $1 for the glass and was pretty "hoppy" with the IPA even though their beer prices are about a buck higher than most places in town. With Ryan's input, I ordered the Elevated Emily ($12) sandwich with brisket, Swiss cheese, caramelized onions and mushrooms on a ciabatta roll with a side of au jus, as well as a side of Cajun fries ($3 - sandwiches and burgers do not come with a side BTW) for a grand total of $15. A tad on the high side for a sandwich, it was actually quite tasty although a bit small for the price. Not a horrible value, I have eaten better, more robust sandwiches (with fries) and have drunk equivalent brews at other local establishments, having paid a total of $3 to $5 (per person) less on average. I do not see myself going out of my way to eat here in the future, but may try their Happy Hour menu sometime as its prices are much more reasonable. We came with a group of 4 and were able to sit outside on the patio. The atmosphere is so relaxing. We ordered the burger, spinach artichoke dip, and THE WINGS! The wings were to die for! It's smoked and comes with so many choices of sauces! Our server, Jennifer, was awesome and attentive. She made sure I had the sauces I needed! I'll give 3 stars only because the food was good. I'm totally fine with the QR for the menu, but I'm not ok with getting little to no service. The whole ordering from the QR and minimal interaction from the server is a big bummer- IMO. For the prices on the menu (which I also understand) $19.99 for a BBQ brisket sandwich and tots, I would prefer to have more interaction with the server. We had to go to the bar for napkins, another trip for straws, I wanted to order another drink but needed to log back into my phone to do so. I brought kids with me and we try to teach "no phones" at the food table. So this was a distraction- having to figure out the ordering system while trying to keep kids tame- not an easy task. Would've much rather had a server to help with the order, question, extra needs. We asked for water (ordered on the QR) and was told "I'll get it for you this time but the station to get water is over there". No ice- it's 90° out, ice would be nice. Then you have to pay via phone, input all information, while kids are antsy and I have to find my card info. Then they still want a tip?!? I get times are tough but a tip is earned in my book and this set up is definitely not earning a tip. The overall vibe just wasn't great, unfortunately. Not sure we'll recommend or return. read more

It is nice living kind of close to this location. Von Ebert makes some of my most favorite beers. Their Italian Pilsner, Volatile Substance IPA (won some big awards), Sector 7. All are so good. Food here is always good. Sometimes it is not as consistent but they have good bbq, good apps, and salads. The crispy chicken sandwich is always good though. We were there around 6p on a Wednesday and the wings (that are only available on Wednesday's) were already sold out. So disappointed! We have come here a few times, and have had good food and tasty beer. They have switched to an order-at-table, no waiter system, which turns out to be awkward and bad when you have problems with your meal and need to talk to someone. I ordered the pork belly lettuce wraps, which I have ordered twice before. When they came, they included 1 1/2 pieces of meat. I believe before they had 3 pieces, so I asked the bartender (after some waiting to get their attention) if this was a mistake. He said it was the normal serving size. It is now only enough food for two lettuce wraps, though the same price ($15.75). We asked someone to change a tv to watch a baseball game, and then reminded them later, and it never happened. We were sitting inside next to the window, and there were 8-10 flies all around us, on our food and in our face. Then one landed in my husbands beer, and he had a hard time getting anyones attention to get a new one. TLDR: Overall a huge bummer to receive no service and higher prices at a once-favorite place. read more

This is a place that I have always enjoyed coming to, but shall I remind them that Covid is over? I don't want to hear about staffing, either. Give your patrons a paper menu. How cheap are you? That is so annoying. Charge high prices and make people use their app or have to request a menu. I am quite capable, but don't want to. Also, I don't feel people should be pushed to order online. As for the food, it is good, but service is something people always remember. Do better. We want you to stay in business. First off, ordering from a scanned QR code did not work well for me. Additionally, once we were able to have an actual server wait on us, I had to present my form of payment ( debit card in my case) to the server to be held at the bar in order to order two cocktails. Not comforting. Cocktails were very slow in coming and were a very poor resemblance of a margarita. Sometime later, a different server delivered our meals, they were lukewarm and had been obviously sitting somewhere for sometime. Gave them another chance and still just can't get behind them, food, service, and beer are below average for Portland. The food is pretty boring... the smash burger was waaayyy past medium, and falling apart. Beers are just not that great- surprising since they have some serious brewing DNA in their brewers. Sour and foeder aged beers were really boring. Lagers were a little closer to style, but still seriously lacking something. IPAs average. Service and vibe here are pretty apathetic, perhaps 10% of the servers seem engaged. Not much competition in this area, so maybe they can hang on. read more

First off, the beer is excellent! And I love the atmosphere, there's a fire pit in the center and large windows all around the outer tables. Dropped by after golf to try the replacement for Ringside Wanting to try something light I decided on the spinach salad. This comes on a tin tray? Salad was fine, usual bacon, candied walnuts, tomato and feta. Not much dressing on it. I asked for more. When the sever arrived he had a tiny container barely half full. He said ' the cook would only give you a little because it is concentrated'. OK, didn't know dressing was so precious. It was tasty though. $14 was a pretty spendy salad. My wife had the Elevated Emily sandwich . Brisket, caramelized onions, cheese, mushrooms on a hoagie. She said the flavor was good. Again $12 and they can't even kick in some chips. I really really wanted to like this place. I've tried it out 3 times and all 3 times i was disappointed. This last time i got the steak bites and fries and said to my husband "they can't possibly mess this one up". The steak bites were crusted in so much salt i couldn't eat them :(. Not to mention that instead of putting my aoli on the side for dipping, it was dumped all over the fries, so i wasn't even able to dip the over salted steak in the sauce to balance thing out. This place is decent. The food 2.5/5, it almost feels like I'm eating fast food or food from an arcade. The food doesn't seem to the first biggest priority here. There are several beer options to choose from but when I looked at the menu it seems like they focused on many IPAs. So if IPAs are your thing, this is a good place to try those. The service was slow, both times that I've been here the service has always been slow. First time I came with a party of 3, and the server would just be behind the screen that she used, never came over to refill my water or check up on us. The second time my friend and I sat almost right in front of the bar and we weren't given any waters for about 10 mins, and then wasn't able to order for another 10 mins. So I've been here twice. Really nice selection of food and apps. But, both times, the meat has been undercooked. The first time, 2 people at my table had completely under cooked burgers - like not just pink but raw in the middle. They had to be sent back and we had to have them packed to go. The second time I ordered the chicken burger and the chicken was undercooked. It didnt look raw but if you squeezed it it had very pink juice and the texture was very fibrous. Very unappealing. I didnt say anything this time but I didnt send it back. I ate some appetizers that were on the table instead. I had stomach issues all night. Please, please, teach your employees to use thermometers while cooking. I have worked in a meat department for 5 years and can tell you just because something looks cooked does not mean it is thoroughly cooked. read more

And since after 3, was hoping to get the happy hour price. Nope, do price reduction. And the beer that she didn't like was still on the tab at the end. I got the Duke of York ale, it was OK, just OK nothing great. The food is nothing to write home about either. I got the BBQ pork sandwich and my wife got the brisket. The pork needed to have more BBQ sauce on it for sure and it really needs a better coleslaw mixed on it, no flavor from it at all. The prices are too high. Yes they are where ringside was and on the golf course but come on. We were at $45 for lunch for 2 and what should have been 2 beers! Last was the service. It was really slow. Took a long time to get our beer and the place was not busy. The bartender was not constantly pouring and making drinks so we should have had ours in just a minute or two, but it took about 15. Ive been here twice and most recently last night 3/30/23. The first time was at lunch time and this last time a hour before closing. I live across the street and I wasn't hungry but wanted a beer. My wife was hungry and o boy did I choose the wrong place to take her. I didn't realize the "out of stock" most items on the menu late at night. Once we got there we were greatened and seated and ordered off the virtual menu on our phones. While I like the touch less service once our food arrived no one check in on us. I didn't order food but had the IPA and it was good. My wife ordered one of the last things available on the menu the "chicken sandwich" once she got it she tried a bite and it was like leather. She was not happy and I was going to pay for it! Once we saw the "out of stock" menu I begged her to leave and go somewhere else but she decided she was going to give the place a try because she was so hungry. The fries were good but the chicken was terrible. I offered to talk to the staff and I'm sure they would have comped us the meal that we each took a bite from. She didn't want to be rude so she paid and we left. I was in the dog house so bad I vemmoed my wife 20$ to cover her sandwich. I wont make the mistake again.
