From all of the times I've been here, I'm still surprised that the restaurant isn't always packed. It's probably not located in the heaviest traffic area, but this is one heck of a hidden gem that people should check out. Being right next to the movie theater can be a double edged sword. It's right next to the parking structure, so depending on what time and day you go, is how you'll deal with parking. Like I said, wait time to be seated has never been a problem for me. It doesn't take that long for your order to come out either. I've tried a good chunk of the flavors so far, but hands down, my favorite is the crispy fried chicken. The breading is nice and crispy, and the seasoning is great. The drumsticks are pretty huge too! I've tried the garlic, vons special, and yang nyum, but the flavors don't suit me personally. The staff is nice and is very patient, especially if it's youre first visit. I've had a couple of nice conversations with them. They're usually also nice enough to let us change the channel if there was a game we were trying to watch. And there's also a constant playlist of Kpop on the speakers in the background, a plus for me. Von's does not take reservations and the space isn't that big. I'd say they can seat about 60 at any given time. We enjoyed the crunchy fried chicken (as opposed to crispy) with sauce on the side. I got three items last night, boneless yang yum (medium spicy), crunchy fried chicken, and regular fries. The bones less yang yum sauce is super delicious but the way they fried the boneless chicken is so weird. It's literally a BALL. When I bite into the chicken, all I chew on is the battered up chicken. Not one bite tasted like chicken but battered. It was very disappointing, before it was 80% chicken and 20% the battered but now it's honestly the other way around. On the other hand, the fried chicken was good, as well as the fries. But I don't recommend anything boneless. Just get mix combo of drum and wings. Overall, just 3 star. The coleslaw I got only had the shredded cabbage with no dressing in it. When I told my server there was no dressing, she added it and it was good, but why was it served with no dressing initially? I rated the service 2 stars because our servers were mostly MiA. One server eventually Ti ok our order and brought our food and she went home. The other server brought our check and it took a long time to get it and we had to request it a couple of times before we eventually got it. Based on our experience at Vons Chicken, we probably won't go back anytime soon, especially since we have so many other dining options in Concord. I ordered on the phone and I got there 5 min after my order was supposed to be ready. I waited another 25 min. I asked a couple times and they just kept saying 'it's almost ready'. I like how they have different kinds of fried and oven chicken with your choice of wings or drums - with the crispy fried as my favorite. For sides, I have had their sweet potato fries which are also good but I don't recommend ordering their kimchi fried rice it's bland. This location is in the perfect spot! It's right next to Brenden Theatres, the parking garage, and across from a nice little bar/club. I came here for dinner with my boyfriend for date night and it was so convenient to come here. It's a small little spot, but there's actually a lot of seating to allow for bigger groups. The chicken looked really good and the garlic sauce was separate in a container, that I forgot what it was and thought it was the honey butter sauce but that chicken was powdered, so that was surprisingly different. The little add-ons were coleslaw and radish, about 3 of containers each. The radish wasn't as tangy as I had hoped (hoping for a Bonchon-ish taste) and the coleslaw fell flat. The chicken itself: the crispy fried was my favorite. I ended up dipping it in ketchup, which was included in the bag, which initially I thought was hot sauce.
