Crispy padak (lightly sauced and piled with green onion) and yangnyeom (sticky savory sweet chili) are my favorites. My brothers favorites were the regular crispy and honey butter which to me is reminiscent of kettle corn. We also enjoyed their veggie japchae ($13), kimchi fried rice ($7), and beef gimbap ($10). Their chicken combo meals are a great bargain starting at $14. I usually have leftovers when I get that. Staff at this branch are very nice, politely answered my questions and the restaurant itself is tidy. Building is tucked away in a tiny plaza next to the tokyo cream shop. I like bonchon but decided to give this place a shot since i'm staying at a nearby hotel. The cashier was very nice. The chicken was perfectly crispy, moist inside, and sauced but not drenched. 5 stars. The japchae was inedible. It was a soup of sauce making the noodles overly salty. The noodles didn't taste fully cooked either. I mentioned this to the cashier on my way out. OK, the bottom line is this is the best chicken I've had in a very long time. It was absolutely outstanding! The chicken was very moist in the batter was very crispy and it is exactly what I wanted. I also ordered the Korean hotdog on the side because it looked very good. Yes, it is a hot dog, but it is wrapped in a Panko crust and it was delicious as well. As far as ordering the chicken, my choices were mild, medium, or spicy. I'm very cautious about spiciness, so I ordered the mild with a side of medium sauce to dip my chicken in. Yes, I'm glad I did, because the medium sauce was actually very spicy to me, but that is my opinion. The mild sauce on the chicken was great and dipping into the medium sauce was fine. It added a little bit of spicy flavor to my chicken. The end result is this is exactly what I was looking for and for my craving of really good chicken. Yes, I will be back and I will also be taking home two legs and a wing with me, because it was a lot of food and it was very delicious, yummy. They ordered fried chicken with the spicy red sauce, fried chicken with garlic sauce (on the side), Rice cakes, fried dumplings, and the ramen. When ordering the chicken, there are a few things you need to decide on: the chicken flavor, the portion (half, full, or combo) and cut (drumsticks, wings, drumsticks & wings, or boneless). The service was friendly, but forgetful. She asked if we wanted waters, but didn't remember to bring them out. We had also ordered the food for there, but she brought it out in to go containers. We tried the Crispy Soy Sauce Chicken (Fried Style) and Garlic Chicken (Oven Chicken Style), both with a mix of drumsticks and wings in half orders. Each half order comes with a small side of coleslaw and pickled radish. The fried chicken was crispy and had good flavoring. I didn't love the flavor of the garlic chicken and it just wasn't comparable to the taste/texture of the fried chicken. The oven chicken I tried is not something I'd ever want to eat again. Though it's cutting it a little close, I feel like an hour before close isn't too bad especially at an establishment that closes at 830. Regardless the person taking my order started off with a sigh and asked what I'd like. I took about 5 minutes to look over the menu since I had never been here and ordered. About 10 minutes later I ordered again for a friend (45 min before close) he sighs and says "what ELSE can I get for you". As if he doesn't get paid to be there. On top of this he answered a phone call later on saying "hi we close in 30 minutes" that's it.. maybe this place has a different policy when closing but I feel as if he was just very rude.
