I can eat a whole full order to myself. I usually like to get a Mix Full order (wings and drums). I wish they had this place closer to my home. The vibe here is great. They have K-Drama on 1 TV and K-Pop music videos on the other TV. They even have Korean beers, soju, and other drinks. The service was quick and easy. I wanted some nice, homemade fried chicken with a great crust and quality meat. So, here I am at Von's chicken in Roseville. I ordered the crispy fried chicken combo meal with two wings and two drums. It came along with a side of kimchi fried rice, which was an extra dollar and pickled radish. OK, the bottom line is this is the best chicken I've had in a very long time. It was absolutely outstanding! The chicken was very moist in the batter was very crispy and it is exactly what I wanted. I also ordered the Korean hotdog on the side because it looked very good. Yes, it is a hot dog, but it is wrapped in a Panko crust and it was delicious as well. As far as ordering the chicken, my choices were mild, medium, or spicy. I'm very cautious about spiciness, so I ordered the mild with a side of medium sauce to dip my chicken in. Yes, I'm glad I did, because the medium sauce was actually very spicy to me, but that is my opinion. The mild sauce on the chicken was great and dipping into the medium sauce was fine. It added a little bit of spicy flavor to my chicken. The end result is this is exactly what I was looking for and for my craving of really good chicken. Yes, I will be back and I will also be taking home two legs and a wing with me, because it was a lot of food and it was very delicious, yummy. It gives the sweet and salty flavor combo that makes me keep coming back. The pickled radish and Cole slaw are complimentary, which is a plus! About 10 minutes later I ordered again for a friend (45 min before close) he sighs and says "what ELSE can I get for you". As if he doesn't get paid to be there. On top of this he answered a phone call later on saying "hi we close in 30 minutes" that's it.. maybe this place has a different policy when closing but I feel as if he was just very rude. When ordering the chicken, there are a few things you need to decide on: the chicken flavor, the portion (half, full, or combo) and cut (drumsticks, wings, drumsticks & wings, or boneless). The service was friendly, but forgetful. She asked if we wanted waters, but didn't remember to bring them out. We had also ordered the food for there, but she brought it out in to go containers. We tried the Crispy Soy Sauce Chicken (Fried Style) and Garlic Chicken (Oven Chicken Style), both with a mix of drumsticks and wings in half orders. Each half order comes with a small side of coleslaw and pickled radish. The fried chicken was crispy and had good flavoring. I didn't love the flavor of the garlic chicken and it just wasn't comparable to the taste/texture of the fried chicken. The oven chicken I tried is not something I'd ever want to eat again. We've tried a few places around Sacramento and each one has similar dishes but don't offer the same exact thing which makes discovering a new restaurant more fun. There were quite a few people in there and she handled them all no problem and was nice and patient when we were trying to decide our order. It's a smaller place but open with lots of seating for the size. My oldest ordered the tteok bokki with cheese, I ordered the garlic chicken combo with kimchi rice and pickled raddish and my youngest ordered the Gim bap. Not one complaint from anyone, they definitely ate my moneys worth which this place is very affordable and definitely worth it.
