This store has THE MOST unprofessional managers and employees working here. Wow! I am astounded that these people are working retail as they have absolutely no PR skills whatsoever. Bob is THE WORST a longtime manager that in my opinion has absolutely no business working with the public whatsoever. If you say hi to him he looks you in your face expressionless with no response at all. I've had numerous run-ins with this guy and all have been quite unpleasant. I've since noticed after having numerous verbal disputes with him he has on several occasions been messing with me at the self-checkout by causing error messages on my debit card. This only happens when he's working so I KNOW he's got something to do with it. I also know this to be true because right afterwards I used my card at Target and Jack in the Box with no errors. This only happens at this store!!!! I will be contacting Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau to make them aware of this situation so that they can conduct an investigation on this matter. This man I feel is very sketchy and has no business working retail doing scandalous moves like this. What kind of management do you people have working in your establishment using these sort of retaliation tactics on customers? I do not feel safe shopping at this store at all anymore but know this his conduct is going to be investigated! I have also noticed A LOT of expired food being set out on the shelves at this store as well as old food in the deli....ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! The design was perfect, super cute curious George! There was a slight hiccup with the smash cake but the employees in the bakery more than made up for it and were empowered to make it right. Checking out at Von's with a cart full of groceries and I said "we'll need bags please...I don't mind having to pay for them." We talk about being pregnant and they were super nice.. We get to the car and I look in the cart to grab a bag and what do I see?? All of our shit stuffed in the least amount of bags as possible making it too heavy for me to help unload certain things.. Not to mention.. HELLO!? I see two big slices of chocolate cake on their SIDES in the bag. Seriously??? Pack the bags like you used to.. If I need 10 bags, I'll pay for 10 bags! I used to love Von's, but of late, I have been thoroughly disappointed. In the old days, one could walk up to the bakery case and grab a box of a dozen assorted donuts and rolls, walk up to the checkout, pay for them and you were off. no more. Fear of law suits have resulted in them emptying their case and not having boxed dozens available, anymore, and that's okay. I have no problem with that decision. What I do have a problem with is walking up to the bakery area and asking for a dozen assorted donuts and rolls, with the bakery people asking for more specifics. "I would like a dozen assorted donuts and rolls, please." "How would you like that?" "Assorted." "What would you like in the assortment, sir?" "Donuts and rolls." "Yes, sir. What type?" "Assorted." "Would you like jellied?" "An assortment, a variety. 12 assorted donuts and roils." "Okay." I go pick up my milk, juice, creamer and ham for sandwiches and return, finding a box there with six donuts in it. "Could you tell us what else you'd like?" Shakes head, "Nope. I'm good." I pick up the donuts and go to checkout and pay for my items. Male bakery attendant says, loudly, "Have a nice day, sir." I leave the store, walk around the corner to the donut shop and ask for six assorted donuts and rolls. Three minutes later, I'm walking out. I'm guessing the assorted boxes that used to be at the case were loaded by machine. This review has to do only with the bakery. Usually shop at Whole Foods, Lassens, Costco and Trader Joe's for their Organic food items. Heard that Von's had a pretty good Organic selection. Their Organic produce items were very clearly separated from the conventional produce. Didn't have time to shop the isles for other organics on this visit. read more

I just love the gas price here! Especially with my points, I always save $0.20 off each gallon, so it's a win-win for me :) other than gas, I love grocery shopping here. You can find great deals on Fridays because they have their $5 deals! It's very good on certain food, because you can save a few bucks! The store is neat and clean whenever I come... One of my favorite thing about Von's is the health kiosk! It's so fun, and I can check my weight and all that goodies on there lol.. Pretty helpful and distracting. Well, that's it for now.. So my mom went to Vons on Herndon and Fowler. She needed 8oz of Parmesan cheese for a recipe which she had with her printed out. The container being sold was 5 oz so she went to buy two. The manager told her she was hoarding and wouldn't let her buy it. My mom showed her the recipe showing 8oz needed and explained that the display of cheese was completely stocked. The manager said she was hoarding and would refuse to sell her 10oz of cheese. The manager said if she came back to try to get another container later in the day she would be watching for her. This Vons is one of the best Vons I've ever been to. This one is NOT the closest to my house, but it is closest to places I regularly shop so I sometimes stop in. The staff is great. I went to this store for the first time because my go-to stores were closed and Vons was the only one open so I decided to go bc I needed to meal prep. I was pleasantly surprised to see how clean the store was and their customer service was magnificent. You had a guy at the door wiping down carts, greeting you and the lady at the cash register was so beyond helpful and thorough. She thoroughly explained to me what the club rewards was and gave me a card. Needless to say, I will definately be back. One happy customer! read more

I had the displeasure of seeing firsthand how the store manager Randy Robertson interacts with customers. He is rude and the biggest a-hole I have ever seen at this position at a Vons or Safeway. You would think the store manager would set a great example, but apparently not this guy. He was so rude to my friend, for no apparent reason that I had to come online and say my peace. I will avoid this Vons like the plague. He is the most unsavory character I've had to come into contact with and hopefully I will not have to deal with him again. He has no business working with the public. He has no customer service skills and gives Vons and Safeway a bad name. Came in about 10 o'clock at nite there was palettes everywhere aisles were hard to access employees weren't very friendly at all

1. Bought lamb shanks and they were rancid. Returned them and was told I would be refunded. Did not receive a refund and when I called about it was told I needed to come into the store again to get the refund. Frustrating. 2. They no longer offer free smash cakes with 1 year old cake orders. I had to pay $10 for an additional cake that didn't match the main cake and was far too big for a smash cake. 3. Produce is expensive, can get almost 50% cheaper and same quality at Sprouts. 4. Gas station frequently has pumps out of order causing long lines. read more

If I could give no stars, I would! I am speaking only if our experience at the Floral dept on Herndon and Floral. My husband called days in advance for a Valentines Day arrangement. When he picked it up....it was the most horrific thing I have seen. Yes, there were roses (wilting) 2 white mums 3 pink carnations and a random sprinkling of baby's breath that looked dead. This is an awful place to work. The managers and supervisors play favorites and they hire and fire people like it's nothing. I got fired for "calling in sick too much". I called in sick one time and then I got a doctors note saying I couldn't work for a week and this was because I had an "infectious disease" according to my doctor.
