I have been a member for a few years now, I got my car loan in 2006 and have continued with them ever since. When I first opened an account with them, I also had an account with another major bank. This helped me realize how much better credit unions are than the major bank corporations. They are willing to work with you and communicate on any discrepancies and do what they can to help. I opened my accounts about 6 months ago, a guy named is the one that "helped me do it, he did not write my full name on the checking account, he did not mention that I needed to have a code to start the accounts online, six months later my wife needed to double check her checking account so she can receive her check from social security and that paper that he gave us with the routing number and account number was short two numbers, so now that she got her check, it couldn't be deposited because account is wrong , good thing that the lady that takes care of direct deposit, instead of sending it back she did deposit the check in my account, other than this people are friendly and helpful read more

So many great things to say about this place, it's always such a pleasant experience each and every visit. I used to bring my grandmother here for years, and prior to that she would come on her own as she was a former employee of vons. But she has since passed, and I now have a savings account with them and recently had car problems. So I have done a fair amount of research and tips from friends, and after deciding to look into purchasing a new vehicle I decided to try to finance it through the credit union. My girlfriend and I were both in the market for new cars, Luis was the one who started helping us out. We found that we were approved for a very affordable rate, and he was able to break everything down for us. I'm a numbers kind of person so being able to cross my t's and dot my i's with every aspect of this was a great thing. Luis was very helpful and available while I was out shopping to answer my questions. Being that this was super last minute, I was very happy with what we were able to accomplish and purchase 2 vehicles in a matter of days. I purchased mine from a dealer, and my girlfriend had found a 2014 Nissan Sentra from Carmax and we were set on dping the deal. Luis wanted to make sure that we were getting the best deal available and had Matt (Auto Car Buying Expert) take a look to see if they'd ne able to find something similar. Turned put they did! Same year, color, trim, less miles, cheaper AND it was Certified Used through Nissan and had 3 years left/approx. 70,000 miles on the warranty. It was a no brainer! They had the car delivered to the Credit Union next day, washed and all. In a matter of a week, we were able to purchase 2 vehicles...for being first time buyers, I didn't spend hours at a dealer, didn't hassle with pricing, and most of all didn't stress about agreements, coverage, etc. Luis and Matt were amazing, and I am forever thankful that they were able to offer the best experience I could've hoped for in purchasing my first car. Turns out both of them remembered my grandmother, and Luis actually used to be the teller we would go to every other week. Been a member for 30 plus years. Customer service is horrible. I get a "No" for anything I need. Service charges are conveniently held until they cause an overdraft. The policies are very archaic come on take examples from Wells and Chase. I called to get a visa sent to me after I damaged mine. It was utterly rediculous! Six types of verifications then CS doubted that I actually had my old card. Insisted I get the old card to read it to her. I was so upset. I use this bank only for car loans. I have complained many times and NOTHING changes. I felt like I was being treated as if I was a liar and a criminal. I told CS how I felt and they didn't seem to care. read more

The only reason why I am posting this review is because I called first. Wasting someone's time is a serious crime in my eyes. Had I not I would of given this place 3 stars and went on my way. First off I had to wait about 10 minutes without anyone coming to me, acknowledging me, etc. I finally went to the IRA guy, and he went out back to find someone to help me. The lady helping me make an account was very nice. She said I needed a utility bill. Why wasn't I told this on the phone before coming? Why can't they process an auto loan over the phone anyway without becoming a member first like most other unions? Anyway, the lady at the auto department was nice. She said I needed to bring verification of income. Why wasn't I told this before coming again? Literally I spent over an hour at this union for Jack squat. Other places run my credit (I have a 780+ score) and give me whatever I need without hassles. This union ended up getting more of my time than planned, and even more with this review. read more

It only takes one employee to ruin it for the whole staff. Kind off like the saying "one bad apple ruins the barrel" well one bad employee's misrepresentation of the credit union has forced me to stop banking with them. read more

This credit union is horrible they are always saying I never make my car payment on time when I do pay on time .I started to pay with money order so I can have proof but they continue to say I don't pay I will never go to this credit union or have business with them read more

Really mixed feelings about this place. Some of the employees are kind and reliable, also informative, and on the other hand you have the bad batch. It's funny to me how when you call, you can never get thru. I attempted to call and never even got a call back. But they will call you several times a day, not to mention at work during your work hours as well and hold a full blown conversation with you. Eliana, I believe her name is, called me while I was on the clock at work asking me about a payment, all while understandable, she came off extremely rude and with an attitude, I advised her several times I will be making a payment on this date, she said she will "make the exception" and yet has kept calling me & leaving me messages since. I work during their business hours and unfortunately can't return most calls, but when I call in, I can never seem to get thru. Elias on the other hand was extremely polite & kind and handled my last payment with ease. Trying to stick thru with this credit union but it's gotten a bit tough! read more

Very happy with their service. Their fees and interest charges are very fair, especially compared to sneaky other banks (See my review for Union Bank). When my debit card was stolen, they acted immediately to prevent any further losses. The thief, drained my card and the credit union covered me and made me whole. They have lent us money and their interest rates are fair. read more

I have been a member of the Vons Credit Union ( as well as the Safeway Credit Union ) since 1981. I have dealt with other major banks and another couple of Credit unions, but this one is by far superior. I left the company 12 years ago but see no need to move my money elsewhere. Sure, locations are an issue, but so what ! They have always given me the best service, and whenever I have applied for a loan ( usually auto ) I get immediate approval. If you are not a member, become one. They are sold and no fear of being swallowed up by a bigger bank which happened to me in the past. Great job you guys, and keep it up ! A+++ ! read more

I've called four times in regards to my debit card. First call (10/27/15) was to inquire about not receiving a new card since my old card was going to expire on the end of Oct. I was told to wait until Friday (10/30/15) On Monday (11/02/15) still no card so I called and was told to wait till Wednesday. Still no card so I called on Wednesday(11/04/15) and ordered a new since they said it was sent. I was told it would arrive in 7 to 10 days. Well its now Tuesday (11/17/15) and I called back, they had the the nerve to tell me they sent it and be patient that it was the Post Office's fault. What has happen to taking care of our customers? Its sad for me to say this credit union has dropped to an all time low. I've been a member for over 30 years and use think of them as the best, but now they are at the bottom. I depend on my debit card for all my banking and purchases. I guess I just have to more patient (long suffering). Ill have to shop around for a bank that holds their customer first. read more
