Today I had a very trying experience getting my wife's prescription refilled at CVS. The issue was that the doctor sent the prescription to Tucson where my wife was last week and because of flight schedules and other things she didn't get it there. So we had it transferred to our CVS here in Carlsbad and that's where the drama started. CVS has a new system or you can't call and just talk to someone you have to leave a message and they will call you back brand new system. so thanks to two superstar employees Nadia and Hassan who took an incredible amount of time and dedication of what they do to make this work today. I cannot say enough good things about this Pharmacy today and how they took care of a problem that wasn't theirs. All I can say from my wife and I is thank you you went above and beyond. read more

This is perhaps the worst pharmacy in North County. The lines are consistently long, and pharmacists seem exhausted. The phone rings endlessly without answers. We waited in line for 20 minutes, and just as we were about to reach the counter, we were told it was closing time and to return tomorrow. We have since transferred all our prescriptions to Vons pharmacy, which offers much better service. read more

Stopped off for some drinks. There was a lady returning stuff taking a while. There was a guy at another register that was looking at us. I asked him are you opening he said no. I just looked at him. Again, computers not working this morning, standing in line waiting for over 15 minutes and then told to come back because system is down. Happens too often at this location. Staff is rude and laughs about it. I just phoned to ask if pharmacy computers are working and I get an AI operator, who cannot answer if the pharmacy is now operating. Not good. Forget about reaching an actual pharmacist . You are put into a phone tree that will never connect you with anyone. In my case, instead of contacting my doctor about my medication, they kept sending ME texts as if I was the doctor office. My Dr. never received a call from CVS to correct the prescription . Until businesses catch on that people are tired of never ending voice trees that go nowhere, they will continue to get bad review and ultimately less business . Most everything! Always homeless by the front door and also using their bathroom and asking for money $1.15 to be exact! Gross! Horrible lines snake through the aisle from each window woman had a dog she was rocking in an actual baby buggy- customers complained but they did not ask her to leave, gross.A gentleman carrying a baby waited in the big line , finally gets to the front-was getting pain meds for his wife who just had surgery, their reply- we don't have any!! I shopped here ONE TIME to pick up hair dye on my way home and one of the employees that I'm assuming must be the manager (Old heavy set woman with blonde/silver hair) was so unbelievably rude and disrespectful to me. I went to self checkout to pay for my two boxes of hair dye and this woman could not get there fast enough to stand in front of me and press all the buttons for me?! Literally pushed her way past me at the checkout kiosk and forcibly started pressing the start scanning... I said "Oh I'm alright thanks!" And she just stood in my space glaring at me while I scanned the boxes and started to pay. She then pushed past me again to press the debit/credit card button for me without asking and before I even pulled out any sort of payment to which I just blatantly said "I got it." She scoffed and backed up, but still hovered riiight next to me. I don't know if she thought I was stealing or something but I didn't even have a purse or any kind of bag on me?? CVS Pharmacy - top notch service - Drugstores Near Me - CARLSBAD, California

So this is the "Alice In Wonderland CVS" because it's tucked aways in the northeast corner of this large shopping center in Bressi Ranch. I seriously never even knew it was here and finding its location is like falling down a rabbit hole. On weekdays there's always plenty of parking in this huge lot however on weekends it can get pretty busy since there's a Sprouts and a few restaurants in the same center. I've never seen this CVS really busy and it still seems likes it's still brand new. Everything inside is super clean and the employees have always been friendly with great service. The Pharmacy here is first rate and the staff is very attentive, efficient, and cordial. The Pharmacist at this CVS gives the BEST shots! They are truly pain free and precise. She totally knows her stuff and also has great people skills to put you at ease. Today I got both my Flu shot in one arm and my Covid BIVAL in the other and, you know what? There was no blood on the bandaids afterwards. She knew the perfect spot on my deltoids to target! She jolly well could be teaching a phlebotomy class. When I got my other booster here six months ago it was the same story. I've had some shots where I've bled out like a f'ling stuck pig and had black and blue marks on my arm. Yeesh! So when you go through the looking glass and come here for your vaccines know this- #1 The cell phone reception in this shopping center is totally dismal and there is no wifi. You'll save a lot of time and frustration by checking-in directly at the pharmacy rather than sitting in your car and trying to check-in on your phone! #2 The BEST time to come here is before 10 am on a weekday. There's seldom a line at the Pharmacy during that time period and everyone is chill. #3 They don't give you a lollipop after your shots but that shouldn't be a deal breaker. I've never had an issue using the drive-up window before, but suddenly, they denied my prescription, even though my insurance and job haven't changed. Bottom Line: A large CVS When I lived in this area I always wished there was a CVS in the neighborhood. At last, residents of Bressi Ranch and Rancho Carrillo have a brand new drug store and pharmacy just down the street! This new CVS is bright, clean, well organized and large. Or at least it feels larger to me than other CVS Pharmacy but perhaps its just very wide. CVS is great for prescriptions, over the counter drugs, first aid products, etc. but they sell plenty of other stuff too. I could spend a lot of time in here looking at cards, nail polish, dry shampoo, snacks, and such. They even have a healthy grab-and-go refrigerator case at the front of the store. I've been in a few times and the staff has always been pleasant. This CVS is located in the new "The Square at Bressi Ranch" shopping center. I did not possibly think this area could get anymore congested but I was wrong. At least the added congestion come with the convenience of a local drug store. read more

So I had a prescription sent there prescribed by my doctor for 60 pills. They, cvs, never notified me about this prescription, even when I went there to pick up others prescribed at the same time. So I called my Dr and they said it had been sent to CVS. So I went back, waited in their usual long line and when I got to the counter they had nothing in their system, so they said. I told them that my dr had prescribed it. So had to go to a different line and they looked up my info and stated that insurance will only cover for 56 pills. Well why not call me, why didnt the 1st person have the info, and then they asked if I wanted the 56 for 8 bucks or the 60 pills for over 100? Really i dont care, it is a precrisptuon i NEED! Why not inform me that my meds were there to begin with? Then there is a refill, but they do not have it in their system, surprise! Then no one answers the phone there, all automated. Why not one star? Well although unorganized and inept they are kind enough and the store is well organized, clean, and other staff have been very friendly, so kudos to them. They just need to be better organized in the pharmacy and let the client know if there are insurance issues, and that otherwise the prescription is there. Quite inconvenienced. read more

Once again, this CVS Pharmacy in Bressi Ranch could not fill a time critical prescription requested by my doctors. Time critical prescriptions are not "elective." They are mandatory requirements to address urgent medical conditions. Had this been the first time this CVS Pharmacy could not support prescription requests for time critical medications, perhaps I could understand the delay, but this is a repeated situation with this pharmacy. Days or even weeks transpire while waiting for a prescription to be filled. In one case, they flat out could not order the medication prescribed by my physician. What is even worse than being out of stock on critical medications is the total lack of customer service, a willingness to work with the patient, and a lack of compassion for the patient/customer. The lack of professionalism, abruptness, and discourtesy is appalling. We have shifted all prescription needs to Walgreens Community Pharmacy in La Jolla. They offer same day delivery, have never been out of stock, and are very customer service oriented. The CVS staff can take lessons from Walgreens. read more

How can they run out of prescriptions and not inform the customer, especially if it's a time sensitive prescription like antibiotics? How can they offer you to call your doctor on your behalf and forget and then turn around and blame you? The staff refused to honor a GoodRx coupon because I'm on Medicare. I was not stacking coupons; I was opting to NOT use my insurance and pay cash instead -- a widespread and perfectly legal practice. My husband who wouldn't hurt a fly was asking an employee to point him in the direction of a specific product he was looking for, and Athena, without even looking at his screen said they don't have it in store. My husband politely asked if they could at least look because it showed online they had it in stock. She started questioning why he even needed it and for some reason accused him of lying? I walked up to him and Athena asked me if I bought that item at the store before and I said no because it wasn't for me it was for my husband. She accused both of us of lying. Then some random customer guy with a small dog chimed in asking my husband if he was Military, and my husband said yes not that it matters. Athena overheard this and started saying she was going to call "someone in the military". Like ok. She started saying she was also going to call "NYPD" so I think she's just crazy. Worst pharmacy EVER. Takes them half a day to fill new scrips, IF they have the medication. Then their automated service calls three or four times a day to tell me I have a script that begins with 'R' to pick up. Which I've probably already picked up or I have no clue what script it's talking about. I called four times this afternoon before I could finally speak with anyone to ask that the reminder service be discontinued. If I do that, then they can't call me at all because they won't have a number for me in their system. Where did they find the programmers who did that? I thought I'd switch from the Costco pharmacy thinking CVS would be more convenient. NO!! I'm switching back. Oh, and don't get me started on the BS diversity and womens' rights issues.
