Worst delivery service ever. Horrible customer service. I placed an order for delivery due to being sick. The day of delivery the driver reached out to confirm the address then only 3 minutes later stated the delivery was cancelled due to the resident not being home. However I was home and have cameras showing no one tried to deliver. Called customer service and they said you have to contact the store. Called the store, spent 15 on hold to be told I'll transfer you to a manager then they just hung up on me. So I recalled customer service. Now they magically could reschedule delivery for me but I would have to wait another day. Fine they set it for 10-12. 12 comes and goes w/o delivery. Called customer service again. Then they say the store just started to pick the groceries. Why would they need to be repicked?! Either way delivery finally arrives and a majority of the items are missing or substituted however none of that is reflected on the receipt. So called customer service again. They tried to tell me to call the store. I told them they needed to do it. They called and said the products were no longer available. No other assistance was offered. I do not recommend going 5 minutes before closing time. Out of the four employees that where standing there including a manger they made it known that they where mad. It was very uncomfortable and felt they didn't even want my business. Last I checked you close at 11pm and then you close not 5 mins until then. Poor customer service. read more

ALL Staff especially checkers are very discourteous, patronizing, unfriendly, biased , ignorant, untaught , & inattentive. I can't even walk around the store with out staff making it uncomfortable . They lack the appropriate customer service skills that are common sense . Don't judge someone based on their appearance . The lack of professionalism and work ethic unfortunately falls back on management, they are untaught & uninformed because management failed to do so ! This location needs to improve greatly on a lot of different aspects within their store . no person should feel uncomfortable to the point they need to write a review to let others know of the experience! This store has NO PROFESSIONALISM what so ever ! If you don't look like you have money or you aren't dressed nice they treat you as if you are a thief. Is this vons company policy? This store has very high prices but when they have sales it is worth the effort to shop here. I went in for rib eye steaks. They were on sale for 5.77 lbs for a 4 pack. This was the first day and second hour after opening. I couldn't find any in the beef section if the refrigerator so I asked the butcher who was stocking a center cooler. He was a young man and he responded to my request as if I was bothering him. He walked over and found one pack of the steaks under some other kind of steaks. He handed me a 2 pack of rib eyes. I told him I needed a 4 pack so I could get the sale price. He looked under the shelf in the back of the cooler and pulled out a pack. It looked fatty and not the best quality. I asked him if he had any other steaks in the back. He took the pack I had and walked to the back. He came back and handed me a different pack of rib eyes. It was worse looking than the first pack I was given. I handed it back and asked him for two 4 packs of rib eyes. By now another butcher came over and assisted him. I don't know if he spoke another language and maybe there was a communication glitch because he did not speak at all. When I got home and opened the pack I found the top steak was good and fresh but under it all the steaks had dark areas indicating the meat was old. This was both packs of meat. Never again! I can't recall ever making a review for a grocery store before... but here I am! During my weekend in Yucaipa for my mothers birthday, I've had to stop by this location a few times (I'm always forgetting to buy something). This Vons is right down the street, and is conveniently located. They have always had everything I needed. And while the check-out lines are ALWAYS long, they seem to get people in and out quickly. I have yet to wait in line longer than 5 minutes. The only problem I have with this location is the way they have the aisles categorized. I felt like I was constantly wasting time going back and forth looking for something. Example: why on earth is your cheese/yogurts, milks, eggs, and butters all in different areas?? One is at one end of the store, the other is clear across the other end, one in the center, one near the bakery... it almost started to feel like a maze. But I guess if you come often, you'll begin to remember where everything is. read more

I have a problem when I go and patronize a business and not one employee can acknowledge you. I was in at 9:30 tonight and apparently was in the way of the broom girl sweeping and obviously in her way by the way she rolled her eyes. What really got me was when I approached the check out (same rude girl who works the late shift), she was talking with the girl bagging groceries and also the male supervisor. Not one word was spoken to me until she told me my total. I was charged for bags which of course since no one could bother to stop there conversation to offer customer service to see if in fact I wanted to purchase them, had already bagged the groceries. I do believe the night supervisor did mumble "hows your night going" and this was as I was putting my card in to pay for my groceries. I guess customer service is almost extinct. I shop here for my groceries. The store is clean and well kept. There's a section for flowers and some other plant life. There's a Starbucks in the store for those of us who don't feel like driving to one after they're done shopping. A section for magazines, books, & candles. Their sushi rolls are really good & made by a real Japanese guy, I've seen him. They have all my favorite coffee creamers. I like that, when the Corona hoarders came in and took all the tofu, Vons replaced them & there they were again within a week or so. Other friends & family who don't live in Yucaipa couldn't find any. I was envied. They have a meat area but I've been avoiding beef for years so I don't go in that section much... but it's there. read more

Florist was extremely rude, upon pickup (of the floral arrangement). Stating "it's quiet time" to me. I wasn't aware of the library rules that are enforced here. Also, stating shes going to call the company; I contract with and complain on me. I said if I had time, I would stop and talk to the mngt. She states "he's right there". I witnessed someone look in our general direction. I couldn't believe how rude she was to me in front of mngt. I will no longer contract for Vons and I suggest no one else does, either. I've lived in the area for almost a year and have never shopped at this Vons.. Today I thought we should start shopping in our area. The store was very nice and had alot of nice kids working there. Which was a plus! My wife needed a few stamps, so decided to buy the at this Vons since they sold them. She also bought a lotto ticket. Gave the clerk $2.00 for the $1.90 purchase. She waited for the .10 change but the clerk didn't give the change and walked away. Now, ten cents is not a big deal. But the thought of not giving back the change was rude! If we decided to short change Vons ten cents they would not hesitate to cancel our transaction and put the items away as we leave the store empty handed! I thought I would tell the manager about this weird situation. When I told him about it, he couldn't care less! He said he would give us the dime, and did so with such an arrogance it was embarassing!! I told him not to worry about the dime, and that I just wanted to make him aware of it, and that if we shorted Vons on purpose they would probably not be happy about it. His response?" We wouldn't care, Vons is not going to go broke over a dime". I was shocked and just walked off. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO VONS, THEY OBVIOUSLY WILL NOT GO BROKE, WILL THEY NOW! THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE SERVICE AT THE STARBUCKS IN VONS, AND THE GROCERY STORE'S DISGUSTING POLICY. Now, although ii is "s Starbucks", it is still Vons. Like Barnes & Noble, Vons sells the Starbucks product, but they are not "Starbucks", if that makes sense. I will never go to this place again. Next time I am in Yucaipa I will go to the actual Starbucks located in the same strip mall. The people who work there are slow, and there are huge lines. But worse, they throw away espresso rather than offering it to the customer. Ever hear of building a thing called "customer loyalty", Vons? 3 shots go into a venti latte, but the machine makes 4 shots at once. If you don't pay .70 for the extra shot, they dump it out. At ANY Starbucks you go to, if you ask for it, they will give it to you, as they have the "waste no / want not" philosophy. When I asked for the extra shot the woman refused, dumped it down the drain, and told me it was the policy of Vons to do this. I remember there a few years back the service was not great and I would only go to the deli if I was desperate. But now the women that are there . I am a senior citizen who shops at 6 am during the senior hour. There are rarely more than a few shoppers at that hour. During checkout, social distancing is practiced. However, all of this means nothing because every aisle and the produce department are filled with store employees making it necessary to reach around them to grab items from the shelves They will not move, even a few feet, for 10 seconds. Evidently they have no concept of the importance of social distancing for the most vulnerable citizens, or they simply do not care. I wrote to management but of course nothing changed. On the rare occasion that I actually need help from an employee, I have found them to be not only unhelpful, but downright hostile. Add to that the high prices and the fact that many of my favorite items are constantly out of stock, and I have finally had it. I will drive a greater distance to find a store that at least pretends to care about the quaint old notion of customer service. read more

The store damaged my money order through western union. If the order is over 500 dollars than they have to print out checks. There machine damaged the checks so they couldn't be reprinted. Western union showed I received my money so the store had to let western union know I didnt receive the money. I'm disabled and needed my money for bills. I incurred several late fees due to vons. It took over 2 weeks for me to receive my money from western union, wich I cashed at a check into cash. The point is they should of offered me cash since it was there fault they damaged my checks. Western union is also to blame for not fixing the problem promptly. The manager did try to help and I'm appreciative for that. The next time I came in I went to purchase a blueray movie. They had 2 empty cases on display. I picked one up and went to purchase it. The cashier said she didn't know where they were. They were possibly sold. How can you sell the movie without the case? She told the night manager and he apologized to me. What really gets me is he took thas movie case and put it back on display knowing they are sold out. read more

Let me put this out there first. I understand the WHOLE Covid~19 thing. I am an essential worker for the Gov. But please, the Vons upper Management needs a bit more logic with training the employees. I just left this Vons. I placed my items in my own bag, because there wasn't anyone attending the carts. I placed my items in my bag, 6 items total. The checker tells me that he cannot touch my bag from home. Ok, I have 5 coffee creamers and 1 can of coffee. I pulled out the coffee and 1 creamer asking him to ring up 5. He placed those items back in the bag. Great! Well he failed to move the belt down... I'm waiting. Nothing...he looked at me and said that I had to get my bag still on the loading side. At this point there was already a woman THREE FEET from me. He said, oh you'll have to get your bag, I looked at him and said fine, but you know that she's already too close to me!! Not a word back. *** I thought about this situation on the way home, and the reason for management thinking about what they instruct their employees to do hit me. There is absolutely NO sense in my bags not being touched. Why?? Well my products have already been touched by ME when I selected them! So what's the point? AND ANOTHER THING.... Not handicap accessible, exit door has been broken for weeks the other door that's working is blocked by carts. This is really sad if a disabled or elderly person is trying to simply leave the store and they can't. One star is more than the manager at the Yucaipa Vons deserves unless he expects stars for outstanding customer mishandling. I was in dire need of cash, after and auto accident, which cleaned out my bank accounts. In addition I was in need of medication, for which this money was intended to help me with. My Brother wired, via Western Union, money to help me. The Vons service clerk entered my driver's license into the computer, discovered that the license had expired, due to my not being able to renew, because of Covid-19 closings of DMV's. I had multiple other I.D. credit union membership, ATM card, Union membership card, Library card, U.S. Railroad Retirement Board card, Medicare card, medical insurance cards, Railroad travel privilege retiree pass, membership in various organizations and more. But none with a photo. The smug manager was summoned. He came out of his office with an annoyed expression, and a false friendly attitude. The manager did not want to hear what I had to say, and kept interrupting me. One of his points was an attempt to berate me for having an expired license. He bragged that his daughter "just" got her license, insinuating there must be something wrong with my character, for not knowing the DMV's were allegedly open again. He offered to show me a picture of the newly minted driver's license. I declined. He again interrupted my explanation, (which was none of his business anyway). I had previously informed him that the Redlands Vons had sent me to his store, when they did not have enough cash for $250.00. As he continued to interrupt me, attempt to star in a self-important show for the questionable benefit of listening customers, and employees. Soon, the manager inserted that he was a Christian, and that he would pray for me, as I "obviously needed help." I countered with, " I will pray for you too, as I am also a Christian." As he continued to condescendingly interrupt me saying, "Well, this is business!" Adding that my license had expired and therefore it was not a "valid" picture I.D. I countered with something to the effect of "non-Christian values" in his way of conducting "business." That seemed to anger him, and he got even more falsely "polite." I informed him, in between his rude interruptions, that someday he might not be so high and mighty, in his condescending position, that he just might find himself needing help, maybe even from someone like me. Hopefully he too will be scorned. That got guffaws from the manager and the small audience of employees looking on. I had deliberately gotten somewhat loud to possibly embarrass him. He chose to "work the room," so could I. We had previously gone over other locations that MIGHT offer Western Union. Several of these locations did not have money, or had a WU phone/computer that had been vandalized. I had previously asked another customer to go ahead of me, so I would not take up his time. Another customer arrived at the desk, while they were dealing with me, and that customer had "the all important Mission" to pay a single dollar bill, he was waving, for a lottery ticket. He had to throw out bogus advice too. I politely thanked him, and said I had already done that. The rude self-important Vons manager again affirmed, in his all mighty management style, that "they" had rules, and people like me did not deserve help from him. He speaks for Vons. I informed him that this was poor customer service, and that I would not be returning to Vons. That entertained him enough to laughingly say something to the effect of "So What!" As I turned and left, and was just getting out of earshot, the manager hurled more condescending, uncalled for "last words."' I turned around with my own expletive. More groans and laughter followed, the Vons Manager, representing Vons, had successfully vanquished a former customer and entertained "his" people. I admit to having only been to the Yucaipa store maybe six or seven times in the past. But I have shopped regularly at the Redlands Vons since even before it was a Vons, for over 30 years. read more

This is the worst grocery store to shop in Yucaipa. Their customer service is a joke after they overcharge you they refuse to give you your money back and they wont either take their merchandise due to covit 19 even though you never left their store. Verónica was very rude in customer service that's is all you need after waiting 1/2 hour to get help. On another occasion I bought their roasted chicken and I can say its the worst chicken I ever bought it was so dry from sitting in their warmer. Hard working staff all over the store. The fact they remained open during the COVID pandemic and have to put up with unruly customers & patients in the pharmacy who don't appreciate them is worth 5 stars. The pharmacy staff are very hard working and go out of their way for their patients by solving their insurance issues and correcting their Rxs written incorrectly by prescribers. So much goes into the pharmacy process on top of dealing with COVID19 its a shame people dont realize the liability and labor that goes into making sure they get the right medications with right directions, checked for drug interactions, and covered by their insurance, and to them in a timely manner to an ever growing patient population. More people need to appreciate their local vons pharmacy staff and be grateful we have such easy access to medications & professional pharmacists and their staff who always are there to answer our questions. read more

Ordered a birthday cake for my nine year old. The cake was ordered over a week in advance. At the time of our order, the two ladies discussed the computer not working. They said that it should be fixed within a few days, meaning well in advance of when we needed the cake. They never said anything to me, just spoke about it with each other. I called 3 days before pick up and was assured that the cake would be made (with a slight attitude). I got a call from the cake decorator that the computer was not working and the toys that go on the cake were also not available on the pick up day. She did her best by hand. My husband spoke with them and one of the ladies implied they had told me all this when I called. They had not! Otherwise I would have asked them to discount the cake and I would have brought in some toys for the top. The cake decorating was very cute, the taste and poor customer service has now sent us somewhere else for business. read more

The management of this store seems to place little emphasis on customer service. More often than not wait times are very long at the checkouts due to only having one or two people at the registers. I've stopped doing large shopping trips there because of this issue. read more
