While I went on the run, my husband and kids enjoyed Voodoo's music bingo, they had a blast! The brewery had a great family-friendly vibe, lively atmosphere, and solid beer lineup. I joined them afterward, and decided to stay for a bit before going back next door...my daughter won bingo, earning us a $10 gift card (huge excitement for her). I tried a few of the IPAs and rated them 4/5 stars--good flavor, and they stood out compared to other Ohio beers I sampled during the week. Overall, top-notch place. I also loved their book ticket method for drinks--it kept things easy and fun--and the dive-bar vibe paired with the local ambiance made it feel like a true community spot. Voodoo Love Child was my favorite brew in the flight of four I had. Deliciously well balanced yeast and red fruit flavors with moderate sweetness and very smooth. The pork belly and Brussels app would be so much better with a creamy sauce but still was good with the tart balsamic. The Brussels were perfectly crispy even though there were only 5 total pieces of small pork belly in the whole app. It was $10. It is very dark in the place on its own. Order at counter and pick up your food to sit where you want. Trivia on Wednesdays. The pulled pork meal was decent for $12. Fries were incredibly salty but perfectly sized to grab multiple at a time with a fork for easy mouth shoving. Pulled pork was kinda tough. The jalapeño slaw below the pork was peppery perfection! Visited twice. First time fast and prompt service. Burgers were fantastic as were the varieties of beer. Bartender was great. Second time was not a charm. We brought another couple and praised Voodoo. Beer was still fabulous, but waited an hour for food even though there were only eight others in the pub when we got there. I asked bartender what was going on a couple times-he said food was being made, but never went to kitchen People (three parties) coming in after us were being served their food. Told bartender again and then manager. Manager went to kitchen (open so we saw) and then the three cooks looked at the order and actually started making our food. Ten minutes later (an hour after ordering) it was ready for pickup. No explanation, apologies or comps. Manager never came to our table or talked to us. I left a 10% tip - as opposed to usual 25%. Bartender apologized. I can only assume the three cooks forgot our order and bartender wasn't paying attention. Manager and employees should do better. Mixed feelings about going there again. Not sure if we will - especially since Tavern Co next store, Kensington pub across street, Boss Dog and Bottle House Breweries nearby. read more

The ambiance is very cute here. We dined in 12/28/23 for a memorial. In spite of the circumstances the staff were amazing. I wanted to highlight Cathy! Great place to meet up with friends and try your hand at trivia during the week! Love the style and ease of ordering drinks and food. We tried the pickle pizza and house made chips with caramelized onion dip. The dip comes cold, but would be even better heated up. The pizza had tons of cheese, so be prepared if you order it! Already know I gotta come back to Voodoo. Was excited to hear they were coming to Cleveland after trying some of their beer in PA. We just got a few 4 oz tasters ($3.75 each I think?) But our friends opted to get some grub. I was pleasantly surprised by the 4 tasters (if you like sours, try their seasonal VB Treats!). The vibe there is a cool casual feel with a long bar area and long community wooden high top table. There are some smaller tables along the wall that fit about 4-6 if you prefer that. Got the black bean burger, would have preferred it to be a little more solid but the flavor was great. Can't go wrong with a good burger. Build your own burger is clever. Select your meat, bun, toppings and so on. Not bad for $11. Howe's I don't understand why a tip is expected when the customer seats themselves, places their order at the bar, and pickups their own food. This is completely self server (strange) jut okay I'll go with it. You're expected to get your own utensils, and water I didn't mind the cafeteria style service. However, when I went to pay the bill a tip was suggested. For what? I'm confused, who the tip for? Not once did a server come to my table. That's the only grip I have. The food and beer was good. We stopped here for a bite pre concert. It's got a great funky artsy vibe. I love the decor. Tables have beer labels decoupaged all over the top. Very colorful and interesting. The walls are lined with colorful and unique doors hung on brick. Lots of cool art work throughout. I got the White Magick. A wheat ale which is my favorite kind. It was just a bit citrus and quite refreshing. Our whole party ordered burgers. It took a while but they warned us when we ordered and we were out to have fun anyway, no hurry. You order at the bar (fill out your choices on tabs supplied at your table) and pick up At a window at the back. Burgers were fantastic. I ordered the Angus on a wheat bun, lettuce, tomato and Cajun sauce. Tender, juicy. Yum with fresh cut fries. Tasty indeed. No table service here but bar staff was friendly and efficient. Oh what a great place for a night out before a show! Within walking distance of Dobama Theater, this bar has great mixed drinks and food. Loved the food, loved the drinks. Why only 3 stars? Next to no service provided. We were able to order food and a 1st round of drinks fairly quickly due to it not being too busy. However, when we went to get a second round of drinks, the 'Order Here' line had grown to over 12 people. I was hoping that since I just wanted drinks that I could ask the 2nd bartender for another round. However, I was told since we ordered food before, they preferred that we stay in the service line. Problem was, the place was still not busy, the couple next to us had just waited 20 minutes to place a food order, so we decided to head out early. This place would really benefit from a couple of servers or even just another bartender to serve drinks while two people were placing food and drink orders. It wasn't even that busy, and the line for service was 15-20 minutes. Doing that for a round of drinks every time seems line a non-starter. My hubs and I went here for a before dinner round of drinks and appetizers. I can't drink beer, but hubs said the coffee stout was delicious. I had the maple Manhattan. Was not a fan, but the presentation was nice and they have a proper cherry (not those bright red abominations!) I'd say the stars of the visit were the appetizers. Poutine was delicious (slightly under seasoned, but delicious nevertheless.) The shrimp and lobster beignets were outstanding. Seasoning was perfect and they did not skimp on the seafood. The dipping sauce has me drooling and wondering if I could beg for a to-go vat of it. So, why only 4 stars? Only two people working the bar and I really loathe the idea of standing in line for a beer. That's probably the point, right? But spring for servers? Or have multiple employees behind the bar to cut down on time. I've read prior reviews complaining about the wait time for food. I found the wait time lengthy, but not outrageous. We hadn't even finished our first round. Biggest criticism of the joint is the water they have sitting out. It was warm, metallic, and gross. Better off getting a stand up water cooler at this point. Had to wait to get home to have water that I could drink. I'll definitely patronize again, bring a bottled water, and watch the hubs drink their beer and I'll have a pour of CLE Urban Winery's finest grapes. Cheers! read more

The atmosphere is great for a casual hangout and talking with people as well. However, the last time I went I waited over 25 minutes for fries, which I've heard is a common issue with the food. For starters, anyone that leaves a negative review of this place just doesn't get it. Their beers are known for being STRONG and for pushing the envelope flavor-wise. If you want a middle-of-the-road, safe, easy drinking beer, go next door to the Social Room and ask for a Bud Light. If you're looking for servers to wait on you hand and foot, go to a fancy restaurant and pay a ton for your meal. This is a brew pub with top notch bar food at affordable prices and probably the friendliest staff you'll meet. Community tables, board games, rustic finishes, etc. --- All the best stuff a brewery should have and there are literally 100 parking spaces out back for your convenience. I think this place is too expensive for what you get. You have to order everything from the counter and go pick up yourself. You are also expected to clean up your own table. All of this is fine, but then they should lower their prices. It was $80 for four of us to eat and my daughter and I only ordered sides. The concept of choosing all your toppings from a checklist is cool BUT...they have screwed it up every time we have gone. They also over cook the burgers. Each time I have ordered a cocktail has been a disappointment. I can not taste the alcohol at all. For a $10 drink, I expect a little flavor of something alcoholic. I ordered SPECIAL fries and they tasted the exact same as my daughter's side of fries that were cheaper. I do not think I will be returning. They also expect a tip and they don't do anything to deserve it. read more
