    Rockoberfest
    Olga N.

Boss Dog Brewing is an urban brewery in Cedar Lee neighborhood. This neighborhood is DORA by the way meaning you can wander with your beer. This is a destination for Cleveland Brewery passport. I visited Boss Dog many times over the years and most recently for Cleveland Heights Neighborhood Crawl. AMBIANCE: Minimalistic and laidback brewery perfect for groups with large tables. There are options to sit inside in dim surroundings or enjoy twinkling lights on the patio. The brewery is rarely crowded so it's a perfect destination to watch sports in peace or just socialize with friends in calm surroundings. FOOD/DRINKS: Their kitchen closes fairly early. To be honest, I've never had any food here that I loved. Beers are always bold and have fun names. During the bar crawl I had Rocktoberfest beer. It's bold and very autumnal. SERVICE: Their kitchen closes service is friendly. You usually get pretty dedicated. PARKING: There are three municipal parking lots in the area that can be used free of charge. There is also valet option. Additionally limited street parking is available. Peak hours are weekends, plan for extra time. If you're looking for a laidback opportunity to hang out with friends, visit. There are plenty of restaurants and bars on this street in case you want to be out all evening.

Arrived too late for the kitchen but the flight options are really good. A great outdoor space for fall to enjoy your cold oktoberfest!! Come check it out!!

stopped in to get a late bite. tried the cheesesteak. it was pretty good. i should've asked for peppers. just a preference thing. followed that with a jobu ipa beer. one of my favorite beers in the city. service was good. nice crowd. only downside was the tvs froze for awhile. but id still go back

I picked up a pizza here and it was fantastic. I got the candied bacon one. the candied bacon was nice and crunchy. the smoked Gouda and alfredo drizzle on it were amazing. those along with the balsamic vinegar all plate off each other so well. The dough was like and not chewy. I can eat two of these in one serving. as you can see in the picture, I couldn't wait to eat it so there's one slice missing

Came to Boss Dog for dinner before a movie. This was my first time dining here as I usually only go for a beer. We were seated at the outdoor patio and did not have to wait on a Saturday evening, which was nice. However, the service was really slow because they had moved our table so it wasn't covered by any of the servers; it took 15-20 min just to get our drink order taken. When our server finally arrived, he was really unenthusiastic and a bit rude. For food, I ordered the summer salad which was tasty but pretty small for the price. My boyfriend got the Nashville chicken sandwich which he had gotten before and enjoys. It's very flavorful and definitely packs a punch. Overall, I would say the food is ok but I'll be more likely to come back just for a drink rather than a meal.

I came on a Tuesday night for trivia and it was somewhat crowded, but plenty of tables available. I had a flight of beer and enjoyed all of them, especially the pineapple vanilla hazy IPA. They had lots of IPAs to pick from and I also enjoyed their smores porter. To eat, I tried the onion rings and mushrooms as appetizers and both were good. I also had the caprese salad which was tasty but I felt like there could have been more for the price. It was just 3 tomatoes with mozzarella on top and I was expecting more of a salad. I appreciated that there were several vegetarian options though. The ambiance was great, especially with the indoor area opening up to the cute patio. I would definitely come back!

Fantastic experience all around. The beer slingers behind the bar take good care of you. The beers are solid and the food is decent as well. The location is really trendy and the space has a great modern vibe! Definitely another great Cleveland brewery that is doing all the right things. Lots of nods to the movie Major League here, as well. Jobu is on the shelf and quite a few beers are taken from the movie.

I decided to come here spontaneously for dinner with my friends. The three of us didn't have the foresight to make a reservation, so when we arrived on a Friday evening, they told us that they will be a 45 minute wait for patio seating. Luckily, we were able to be seated inside, that they didn't tell us that the food would take a long time to come out. We ordered some drinks off of the cocktail menu, and prepared to hang tight for our food even though we were starving! They were definitely having a busier night, so it took us a while to get water, and after our waiter took our order for drinks, he disappeared. A different waiter came around to take our food order after we were waiting for a while. I had the strawberry lemonade cocktail, which was yummy although definitely very sweet. Overall, I felt like the cocktails tasted good but weren't very strong. I had a fish fry for dinner, which honestly was really delicious, so I was also starving! My friends had a Nashville hot chicken sandwich, which they really enjoyed, though their main criticism was that they wish it were spicier. overall, we enjoyed the food and drinks that we had here, though the service was on the slower side. Next time, I would consider making a reservation, especially if you want to enjoy outdoor seating.

We checked out boss dog brewing primarily for its Tuesday trivia nights. Unfortunately, the one time we came on a Tuesday, it was cancelled. Thankfully the food and beer made it still somewhat worth it: * Big Boss Pretzel ($14): Pretzel and sauces were fine, but the extra sausage/cheeses were not worth the extra $7 * Boss Dog Burger ($14): nothing spectacular, but I'd give it points for it being a very neat (literally) burger with a properly grilled patty * Chicken pesto pizza ($15): not the best crust, but still a decent pizza with gooey cheese and well balanced flavors. * Short rib burger ($15): definitely better than the boss dog burger and highly recommend for those who like a bit of caramelized onions in their burger. BEER: At $6 each, or a flight of 4 tasters for $7, the beer here is a real steal! Solid selection too. Overall, I'd say Boss Dog is a decent place for beer and bar food, but the food quality doesn't quite match up with its relatively steep prices. I'd certainly come back for trivia night, but not sure this would be a place i'd go purely for dinner.

Always a vibe right before a movie at Cedar Lee Theater. I love their Nashville Hot Chicken and Pulled Pork sandwiches. Absolutely unreal. I got to try their new-ish Korean Fried Chicken sandwich during my last visit and the flavors were incredible. I always forget his name but we always have the same waiter and he is amazing at his job.

I joined them afterward, and decided to stay for a bit before going back next door...my daughter won bingo, earning us a $10 gift card (huge excitement for her). I tried a few of the IPAs and rated them 4/5 stars--good flavor, and they stood out compared to other Ohio beers I sampled during the week. Overall, top-notch place. I also loved their book ticket method for drinks--it kept things easy and fun--and the dive-bar vibe paired with the local ambiance made it feel like a true community spot. If I were local, this would absolutely be a go-to spot, especially paired with a post-run visit.

Order at counter and pick up your food to sit where you want. Trivia on Wednesdays. The pulled pork meal was decent for $12. Fries were incredibly salty but perfectly sized to grab multiple at a time with a fork for easy mouth shoving. Pulled pork was kinda tough. The jalapeño slaw below the pork was peppery perfection! Weekday afternoon in the summertime; school's out so attendance was sparse. Open physical plant with lots of natural light, lots of high-tops inside with outside seating as well. The craft beers are made in house with a couple of guest taps. Our convenience sample of a couple of them found them to be solid renditions of APA, Pilsner and IPA. Falafel Nuggets are fun: one of our group loved them but another found them cumin-heavy enough to be a dealbreaker. The jalepeno edge brings just enough heat. Fish sandwich is excellent. This is a piece of battered fish and it is crackling crisp on the edges. This sandwich, served with pickles and shredded lettuce, is on a roll that is one of the closest I have had to Po-boy rolls outside of New Orleans. The onion rings are fantastic. Even though they are somewhat thicker cut, these breaded rings are crisp and delicious. For the most part, the onion stays with the ring. Would gladly get these rings again. Our group found the Barbecue pork quesadilla to be "very good." The barbecue sauce is on the sweeter side, and we think it has some cinnamon notes. We would happily return for bar-food bites and beverages: highly recommended.
