When my husband and I arrived at the Denver International Airport at 6:30am on Halloween, we were delirious and freezing cold since it was the first time us two kids from Hawaii experienced 39 degree weather. We decided that since we had a 3 hour layover before heading over to Dallas, TX that we would find the gate for our connecting flight first before figuring out what to do after. Fortunately for us, since DIA is organized with lots of signage for easy navigation, we were able to find our gate with no problem and then started walking around the airport. We found a comfy little nook on the upstairs part of Terminal B next to a children's toy store and noticed that there was a VooDoo Doughnut right across the way, so my husband had asked if I had wanted a donut to which I said yes and then left to get said doughnut as I waited with our carry-ons. Since it was so early, there was not much of a line at Voodoo Doughnut and my husband returned back to our little nook area just as quickly as he had left. Since my husband was a little overwhelmed by the doughnut options they had (more so because he and I have completely different tastes), he decided to go with a classic: the Chocolate Old Fashioned. Since it was my first time trying Voodoo Doughnut, I was not sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The Chocolate Old Fashioned had a crispy texture on the outside and a nice soft interior (and not as dense as a cake doughnut which was a plus). The chocolate glaze on top was also not too sweet but had a smooth chocolate texture. It made me realize that I don't think I've ever had a proper Old Fashioned doughnut in Hawaii because when I took my first bite, the crunchy texture was new to me. I loved the doughnut so much that I made sure we made a second stop on our way back home. This time both my husband and I went to Voodoo Doughnut together and we decided that we would get another Chocolate Old Fashioned, a Homer, and a Bacon Maple Bar. The line despite being a little longer than the first time we had visited went quickly. The employee that took our order was kind and efficient and we were able to grab our doughnuts and find a place to eat. The Homer is exactly what you would expect of the doughnut--fluffy cake donut, strawberry glaze, and sprinkles. It was a little too sweet for me (and most likely my husband but since he chose the doughnut, I made him finish it lol) but I think it is a good doughnut to try if you like fruity or sweeter types of doughnuts. The Bacon Maple Bar though was my absolute favorite. The maple glaze had a nice smoky, nutty, caramel type of flavor that paired well with the salty crispy bacon strips. The actual doughnut itself was also nice and fluffy making each bite an absolute dream. I actually wish I would have gotten a dozen of these to take home because they were that good. The Chocolate Old Fashioned was also consistent with the first one we had tried, so it was good to know that despite being a new location at DIA that the quality of their doughnuts had not been compromised by the influx of customers. Overall, I would highly recommend Voodoo Doughnut. I can see why there is such a hype around these products and you just cannot beat the décor, the variety of doughnut options, the accessibility of said doughnuts (and merchandise), and customer service at the DIA location. read more

Understandably, they don't have the entire selection that the regular stores in town do, but they still have more than enough choices. Yes!!! Amazing! These donuts are just as high-quality as the original location AND the line is often shorter! Instead of facing a huuuuuge line in the morning on Colfax, stop by VooDoo at the airport where there is pretty much a constant line of customers at anytime--but one that moves very quickly! Super fast, kind service and out of this world donuts. This is my new favorite stop at the airport when I have extra time and am in the mood for a small treat (under $5!). It's also my favorite place to recommend to out of town guests who want to bring home tasty gifts or have extra time to kill. Enjoy!!! In an airport filled with overpriced food, you would think that a simple doughnut would be a safe, wallet friendly choice. Think again. These are the most overpriced, disappointing, and overall underwhelming foods I've ever had. My local grocery store has better. The "Homer" ( pink frosted raised), has a disgusting artificial strawberry flavor that will linger long after the offending doughnut is gone. $4.03 is an outrageous price in the first place, but for something this bad, it's obscene. The service was subpar as well. Individual doughnuts aren't priced. There is a price scale, but you don't know which doughnut fits in which category. The employees were no help either. Skip this tourist trap and save your money for a Krispy Kreme. read more

Was happy to see Voodoo Doughnut at the Denver airport! I've never had it before and was excited to try it. We got the dirt donut and the voodoo donut. My favorite was the voodoo donut! It had a raspberry filling and came in a fun shape. In terms of taste, I think the donuts are flavorful and soft but is definitely much more on the sweet side. I loved the cute pink decor and revolving shelf of donuts, so I could see all the options at once. I splurged on 3 doughnuts: Maple Cream, Portland Cream, and Maple bar. Although I've only tried the Maple Cream all 3 smell (and look) absolutely delicious. If you've ever lived near or in Portland, you'll know Voodoo Donuts. Springing from their downtown store to the burbs almost two decades ago, they've expanded... to DEN. Their Terminal B location is, like the others (minus Eugene which is right next to a park with picnic tables), primarily takeaway. Given that your loved ones don't really care if the location was as cool as the original, take the opportunity to load up and gently fly a dozen back to your home. My flight boards at 4:55 AM and they reopen in a different terminal than my departure at 5:30 AM. No doughnuts for me I guess. I give them three stars solely because they offer raised ring doughnuts for Vegans, a rarity, but they had hours of operation left. Running out of a key ingredient several hours earlier is not the way to get 5 stars. This place is so fun. We stopped here on layover in Denver. It's located on concourse B on the top floor. You take the train on the bottom floor between concourses. We got the box with a bunch of assorted doughnuts to try. It is definitely a very sweet doughnut but that's what I would expect. They are HUGE. What a treat! Had never heard of this chain but looked up vegan finds at the airport and I can never turn down a donut. True story- asked my son if he wanted 1 and he said no. I came back the a maple bar and he decided to go get one. Told my spouse that given the selection of 10 or so different vegan donuts he'd come back with 2. At 3PM on 1/20/2023, I saw an employee leave the bathroom stall without washing his hands. He was about 5'6", dirty blond shaggy hair combed forward with a mustache wearing a bright pink shirt. He was in the back of their kitchen making donuts when I walked by after washing my handsThat's nasty and unsanitary. Even if you wash your hands on entering the kitchen, you are wearing a food service uniform and should ALWAYS wash your hands when leaving the restroom, especially when leaving a stall.
