There are some very good donuts here if u know which ones to get. My 3 favorites here are the Voodoo Doll (which I got tonight), Diablos Rex and the Homer. My doll donut was so delicious in every bite with its combination of a very chocolaty outer presence and tart, refreshing raspberry gel in the filling.
Despite having been to Portland a few times, I never thought my first time having Voodoo Donuts would be in Houston Texas. The main reason - no line at the Houston store. We happen to drive by and made a quick stop to try their donuts. There was only one party ahead of us, and they were actually a bit slow. We got two chocolate ring donuts and a voodoo doll. The voodoo doll was supposed to have chocolate on the outside and raspberry filling inside, however, the voodoo doll I got was missing the raspberry filling inside. I let the staff know and they replaced my voodoo doll. The next one had plenty of raspberry filling. Their donuts are large, colorful, fun, and tasty. I wouldn't say they were the best donuts I've ever had, but they were enjoyable and a very good size. The customer service was really good. I tried the Homer, which is their strawberry doughnut, and it was good. I think I like the chocolate more, but strawberry was good too. The shop was clean, cool, and not too busy. The donuts were not super soft...they were a little more firm, but still really good.
I can't tell you how much of a donut fan I am. If there was a voodoo donut close by I think I'd have to be there a couple of times a week. Unfortunately, the closest one is probably an hour away, but while I was in Houston, I stumbled the upon a voodoo donut shop. I just had to slam on the brakes and turn into that parking lot . if you've never had voodoo donuts you've got to try them. They are absolutely wonderful. I like all the different flavors. You can find yeast donuts, as well as cake a lot of specialty donuts like bacon maple you can even find some that are decorated with Froot Loops. They also sell some pretty cool stickers. You've never tried them. Go on in and find out what all the hoopla is abpit
Yummy location in Montrose. Employees are super friendly and they have some many donut options. Do yourself a favor and have some "cheat" food every once in a while!
I don't eat donuts often. But I heard about Voodoo Donuts and I have to stop by to try it. I often drive by this restaurant and always curious about what the voodoo does. The pink storefront and pink interior made me wanting to try something pink. The employee Helen enthusiastically helped me to accomplish that. She gave me suggestions because I am a novice to the Voodoo Donuts jargons. Everything looked so fresh and delicious in the rotating display case. Dirt Donut caught my attention as it's loaded with crushed Oreo cookies. But I would mess up my car interior if get one today. Another problem, because I wore a brand-new white shirt. I chose the rainbow pride donuts, just because June is the Pride Month. The Bavarian cream filling was so delicious. It makes wanting to come back to get another one.
As much as I wanted to enjoy the experience, it was a tough one. I'm leaving this review months after trying this location. I ordered doughnut for pick up in the morning. They tasted old, definitely not fresh. It was a disappointment but I just chalked it up to a loss. A few days later, I received an email from their Marketing team regarding a survey on my experience. I took the survey and was honest. To my surprise, they actually read my response and informed me that I would be provided a gift card to give them another try. I thought to myself, wow what a company and what great customer service. This was back in May 2025. Here we are in August and after following up directing with the marketing folks, still have yet to receive anything. I now live aways from the area, so I likely won't be going out of my way to give them a second chance had I received the gift card. I DEFINITELY won't be going them a second chance at this point because of their lies and lack of service. Quite unfortunate since we were excited to try them out and enjoy our doughnuts. ONE STAR.
I had no idea that voodoo was not just in Portland, so excited to get to have their donuts again. I went in first thing in the morning, got fresh donuts for my team at work. The voodoo dozen did not disappoint. I ate one donut and was full al day and the team was stoked to have voodoo donuts. We all shared bites of donuts to get all the flavors. They tasted just as I remembered, the dough is the star of the show the donuts were cooked perfectly and they glazed or frosted them to perfection. I definitely recommend making an effort to stop by and check them out.
Perfectly delicious! I just love their seasonal and holiday donuts. I ordered this for a Christmas get together. The pick up was easy and the donuts were so cute and such a hit. Just can't go wrong as a party tray.
My family recently got really into the Go Nuts Donuts game, so naturally after a few rounds of the game, we NEEDED some donuts. Voodoo donuts was the perfect spot as it was open 24 hours and we needed donuts after dinner. We came here on a Saturday evening. Not too busy. There was another family dining in on their donuts, and a few people came in to order. I really enjoyed looking at their donut tower and the various donut selections they had. It was great to see the actual donuts on display (versus just reading a description) as that definitely makes all the difference, so good job Voodoo! The only minor improvement I'd like to see is that the donuts only had names written below but no descriptions, so I had to keep asking the worker what was inside each donut. A simple parenthesis (no filling) or (custard filled) would've been extremely helpful! My husband got the cannolo donut and I chose the maple blazer blunt, which is a cinnamon sugar raised donut with a bit of maple glaze and red sprinkles. We're both not fans of glazed donuts since we find them unbearably sweet. I liked that I was able to easily flake off the maple glaze and just eat a little bit of it with the rest of my donut. I enjoyed both donuts, but probably would choose the cannolo over the maple blazer blunt because the maple blazer blunt had no filling and the bread was a bit dry. The custard cream inside the cannolo donut helped offset some of the dryness, hence why I would pick it again. Overall it was a good experienced, but nothing to rave about either. I think our donuts were probably sitting there for a while and I'm sure they would've been much tastier had they been fresh out the fryer. I would come back if I was in the area and the donut hankering a strike!
Super friendly service, nice music and aesthetic. Each voodoo donut is decorated by hand and a bit unique. Rotating carousel shows all of the different options, takes a while to see all the flavors but fun to look at. The voodoo donut is chocolate on top with raspberry filling. Not a donut connoisseur, but I bc my opinion it was not bad but not mind blowing. Think I would go for one of the more unique flavors they have if I were to come back again.
Donuts! I have a sweet tooth so it's hard to disappoint me when anything sugar is involved. I have seen this Voodoo donuts a million times (I have a rental property in the neighborhood) and I finally decided to go inside. I love the decor of the place it was all pink and has framed art work, even if you go to the back where the bathroom is the space is full of art. The place is open 24/7 which is another big plus in my book, cashier was friendly and very patient they have a ton of options to chose from so I took quite a while looking through their menu. The variety is insane here there were so many different donuts to choose from I know for a fact I will come back and try more. Very creative concepts and the donuts are tasty, but now that I think about it, I don't think I ever had a bad donut lol
I've been contemplating on visiting this place for years! The first time I reviewed the menu, I thought there was just too much going on. Who would want a maple glazed with slices of bacon? Me, it's me! Oh my goodness, why didn't I try sooner? Simply amazing! Friendly customer service, clean atmosphere with so many varieties of Voodoo Doughnuts to select from. Please stop by and give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed and if you are, something went wrong on the day you decided to try.
Cameron was outstanding! From the moment my husband and I entered the store she greeted us very friendly. She gave us her recommendations for donuts and made our experience just a little more special by taking that extra step and not making us feel like a customer, but a friendly neighbor and we will definitely come back! Cameron and the donuts are the reason why we come to this location every single time my husband gets his cancer treatment .

Ok so one of the docs brought a couple dozen for an occassion. They were stacked on one another, and the box had a smell of old grease. The donuts are large for sure. I picked the raspberry filled. The filling was delightful and donut seemed almost fresh. The outside tasted of the old grease. Dang. Now i know why i drive the distance to my favorite donut place where theres no frill, only the freshest donuts, filled w jelly on request, fried in good grease, stacked neatly, served w a smile. read more

Doughnuts on steroids is the best way to describe these doughnuts! And that's a good thing! Voodoo Doughnuts has such fun, creative, and deliciously sweet doughnuts. Stopped by late last night to get a quick sugar fix and they had all the doughnuts we wanted. My personal favorite is the one of their classics: the Voodoo Doll. A chocolate covered doughnut filled with yummy raspberry jelly. The fun part is the voodoo doll always looks a bit different. The doughnuts are definitely on the pricey side with a dozen being around $30, but their unique flavors and quality ingredients help justify the price. I'd recommend just grabbing a few to try anyways since they are pretty big doughnuts. The shop is decorated with pink walls and other fun decor, is always really clean and has a great atmosphere. read more
Ok y'all, another one of my late night shenanigans with donuts. I've been seeing this place pop up on my UberEATS app for a while, so I decided to try the three most interesting ones (to me) out of a menu of unique donuts: bacon maple bar (topped with maple ice cream and bacon), the dirt (topped with vanilla ice cream and cookies and cream pieces), and raised glazed (glazed donut). The prices are quite affordable especially for the size of the donuts! They were so huge that I took pieces of the three I ordered, about 1/3 of the whole donut, and froze the rest (Yes! You can freeze donuts). With the pieces I did not freeze, I only managed to eat one (the glazed) as it was very sweet and try a bite from the others. So, if you've cut back on sugar recently, be advised. I really liked the dirt, not sure how I feel about the maple syrup (I've never really liked maple), and the glazed was as to be expected. Voodoo also boasts a number of vegan options, just in case you follow that lifestyle. I can see myself returning for the dirt or trying out one of their other ones (there's one that's Halloween-esque - I'm looking at you Diablos Rex). All in all, these were pretty tasty. Not impressed. Maple and bacon, churro donut, chocolate cream filled and bubblegum all tasted Fried in old grease. Not what you would expect from an upscale donut shop. Not worth my 45 minute drive! Location is cute and they have a big variety of donuts. read more

Been having this place bookmark for some time, so I Decided to give this place a try this Saturday morning with the kiddos. It's a beautiful funky establishment. There's a lot of different cool donuts to try. Overall the donuts were average. There a little pricey for the overall taste. read more
This location has more parking space, but is smaller than the other location near Washington avenue. The donuts for some reason did seem larger here and there was a line at 9pm on a Saturday! Donuts were delicious as expected at Voodoo there were only two high top round tables in the entire place. Probably not a place to enjoy your donuts, but more of a to go spot. My husband and kid always get a homer donut (strawberry glazed with sprinkles) and a chocolate dip donut each. Both are solid choices. I tried the old dirty bastard which is covered with Oreos and has peanut butter drizzled on top. It was not too sweet and twice the size of a normal donut. I also ordered the voodoo doll donut which I will try tomorrow. Looking forward to this raspberry filled donut with chocolate on the outside. What I like about voodoo is that their donuts are not too sweet and are fluffy and not dry. I'm excited that one is opening in Cypress soon! read more
My friends were raving about how good Voodoo Doughnuts was during our entire trip. The fact that it is open late was the first plus in my book. What better way to feed your hangover than with a few doughnuts, right? After trying the maple bacon doughnut, I became an instant fan. The center of the doughnut was super moist, the bacon was cooked just right and the frosted was sweet but not too sweet. Great customer service. These are delicious donuts. I tried vegan ones. The flavors were dirt, Apple, and caramel cream, I believe. I couldn't finish them all. My friend and I had a donut and tea tasting on our last day in Houston with these donuts. They did not disappoint, and I highly recommend this spot. Very apt for the Montrose art vibe. While not cheap the donuts at $4 each, they are larger than most places. So that makes up for it. I think it's cheaper by the dozen if buying more than a certain quantity so figure that into your decision. Donuts with filling have a decent amount of filling. The raspberry jam in the voodoo doll donut looked like blood. Which was kinda cool. The Portland donut was good, but nothing to special to write about. Freshness wasn't an issue when we went. I mean, it's 24 hour donuts. So keep that in mind. it wasn't fresh like when Krispy Kreme is baking them "hot now". But it wasn't stale either. Dirty bastard was devoured by my kid. Didn't even save me a bite so it must've been good. Staff were super nice. I'd return just for that. read more

Vegans, welcome!! There are SO many options to choose from! You thought your Bavarian cream days were over? THINK AGAIN. Voodoo donuts makes it happen! Voodoo Donuts offers a ton of options to choose from. They switch out and add flavors (ie: Strawberry Go-Tart, Mango Ginger Kiss) and keep the menu interesting. If you are looking for something more traditional, they offer the glazed, old fashioned, and blueberry cake donut as well. I had to try it all--vegan, traditional, and new. My favorites: - Vegan & New: Maple Cream - Traditional: Blueberry Cake Though these donuts may look hefty, these donuts do not fill you up! Expect this to serve as a sweet treat, not breakfast! Also, do yourself a favor and only order what you'll eat. I ordered a dozen and was over it by day 2. read more
I've been to the Portland location and didn't understand the rave and now that I was visiting Houston, I wanted to give this place a second shot. Again, it's a huge letdown. Everything tasted stale and I just can't understand why others would remotely find these tasty? Aside from it being 24/7 (which is the only plus), I really can't see myself stepping foot to this establishment anytime soon. Hard pass for me and the entire group I went with. read more
We stumbled by this location while driving back from the Menil Museum. Of course it's pink façade was the dead giveaway that inside would be the most decadent and sweet donuts that we've eaten. Did not expect to find here (last eaten in Portland) so we were happy to indulge. Practically every flavor was available in the rotating cases so that made it difficult to pick something different. Whole Lotta Horchata was a sugar coated stuffed donut with horchata cream. It was big and full of sweet creamy filling. The butterfingering was a chocolate cake donut with vanilla frosting dipped in crushed butterfinger bars. That was a great donut combo! Chocolate and coconut rounded out the box. Parking could be an issue. Small lot to the left that shares with an erotica store and Thai restaurant. There was no spot to park when I left. Order at counter. Small front end. 2 registers. There is a small coffee latte option and lots of donuts to choose from. The bubble gum and boozy shamrock (st pattys today) was out. So I got the lucky charm and the voodoo doll for my 6 yo daughter. For myself I got the ring of fire (slight very mild spiciness at the end of the bite after you swallow the bite). I also got the guava, the mango tango, & mango ginger (I ordered they ginger but they gave me the tango. They caught their error but let me keep both mango jelly filled donuts). They're bready soft with ms go filling. I also got the guava jelly with coconut icing. It's very sweet but tasty. The donuts are huge. This was my first time trying Voodoo Doughnut in Houston, and what better way to sample the selection than with the 713 box? The interior is bright, clean, and minimal with two tables. There isn't much parking in the area, so it's definitely a grab-and-go kind of place. My opinions on each donut in the 713 box: - The Homer: One of my favorites in this box! It is very sweet and creamy. I am particularly fond of the artificial strawberry flavor, and I think this is one of the best pink donuts I've had. - The Dirt: This was good but not great. If you try all six donuts in one sitting, I recommend starting with this one. It is still sweet, but it is the least sweet of the bunch, so the flavor will be muted if you eat it after the other donuts. It's a solid donut, but the icing and cookies on top appear more exciting than they actually are. - Glazed Raised: My other favorite in this box! It's just a great glazed donut. You can't go wrong ordering this, but it's more cost-efficient to go anywhere else for a glazed donut. - Chocolate Ring: Once again, another solid offering. It's just a great chocolate donut. And once again, you can't go wrong ordering this, but it'd make more financial sense to buy one elsewhere. - The Churro: It's decent. It's a firmer donut with a pleasant cinnamon flavor. - Blueberry Cake: Also decent. It's a solid blueberry donut. Not my personal preference but still enjoyable. Overall, I enjoyed my box of donuts. I would give a thumbs-up to every donut and would willingly eat each one again. They're a bit pricey, but I think they're good. If you enjoy sweet and fluffy, I think you'll enjoy the donuts from here. read more

I rarely eat sweets or donuts so when I do, I get me a good one! I always get a weird look from cashiers when I order a single donut instead of dozens. This location is 24 hours. I'm not a big fan of donuts but this place has some good and lot of varieties. Price range is not so bad at all. I think it's quite reasonable. Staffs are friendly. If you are in the area , you should give it a try. read more
Another location opened up! I prefer this location to the one on Washington Ave because the quality of the donuts tastes better. Parking is a little awkward here but isn't as crowded/busy as the one on Washington. Workers are friendly and helpful in helping us decide what to get. The donuts are not greasy and super fluffy. The frosting has flavor in them and packs quite a punch. (For example, you'd think the mango tango is subtle, but one bite packs quite a punch.) read more
Bought the classic dozen. Good quality donuts, the cake donuts are great. I still think Shipley holds the works title for classic yeast glazed but this spots are good. The unique creative donuts looked very good but we chose the classic as an intro. Will definitely coming back for the "Voodoo" donuts. read more
We have been to another voo doo doughnuts location in Orlando FL at Universal studios and thought we would try this location while in Houston. I love the interior and how everything was clean and neat. They were not very busy which is a stark contrast to the one in FL where the line is endless and they are rushing you at all times. There is very minimal seating inside so you may have to get it to go. The service is great and the gentleman behind the counter took no issue with explaining what was in each donut , recommending his favorites and really enjoying his job kudos to you (really wish i knew your name you deserve a raise) They have a wide array of flavors and varieties, however we found the donuts to be just okay. Lacking any really unique flavor. This is alas a tourist trap In every state it seems. The subpar donuts were dry and seemed to be stale maybe even a day or two old. Had voodoo donuts delivered to work and had an assortment of donuts. To be honest nothing really stood out as amazing but a lot of people really love this place. I think the variety is so vast that you should probably try it but overall there are better places out there. read more

So disappointed! I always visit this place in Austin and I love it but this time was so disappointed! Donut was old and stale. And fell apart just tearing it in half. Cashier was super friendly but that was the only positive thing about this visit. Would not recommend spending your money here. read more

Our kids scored a plethora of donuts and a couple cool t shirts, one said "worth the weight"...cool. We showed some restraint and bought a few fried goodies. read more

The icing is really well done and the designs are really cute. The yeast donut itself isn't really that great and its weird because it tastes greasy but doesn't feel oily or anything. Overall, not bad. Packing was poorly done if you are looking to preserve the looks of the donut. read more
