Its an experience you can't find anywhere but a Voodoos. Like many of the Voodoo Doughnuts across the country, the pink box is king. Unlike many of the shops across the states, this one is right in the middle of City Walk in Universal Studios Florida. The doughnuts are fresh and fun but its a different experience then normal. The lines are long but many people have no idea why they are waiting in line other then to get a doughnut at a cool looking shop. The displays and merch are great and the doughnuts are good but it is clearly as mass production set up that takes away some of the charm of the pink box. I love the Grape Ape, Memphis Maphia and many more but I enjoy them more in Portland or Denver. The magic is in the hole but not all holes are equal. read more

Who can say no to donuts! I mean everyone has a favorite donut, right? I can't help but noticed on my way to Universal Studios is Voodoo Doughnut because if the extremely horrendous line outside the door. I said I'll stop by before leaving the park on my vacation and I'm glad I did to try their donuts. I can see the hype and why one would need to stop by. First, it's an overwhelming menu of donuts to select. The display donuts in the middle of the line helped me to know what I would like to order before being called to the cash registered. Don't worry for all those who are fickled minded or don't recall what you want to order, the menus is at the counter by the cashiers as well. I selected a dozen donuts for the family. They all looked very delicious. They tasted fine, not hot fresh and best donuts I've ever tasted. I prefer freshly baked donuts from duck donuts and Krispy Kreme. Like everything else at attraction area, the price is expensive. I paid about $35 for 12 okay donuts. Worth the wait...speaking of, go early to avoid a long line or avoid it all together by ordering ahead online. We got a dozen including the guava colada, ODB and Memphis Mafia to enjoy on our walk into the park. These made waking up at the crack of dawn worthwhile. They were filling and held us over until lunch. Don't fret - we still rode the coasters with no ...spillage. If you're a jelly filling fan,Voodoo does not disappoint! Often, you're lucky if you get more than a tablespoon at there doughnut shops, but Voodoo crams enough in one donut so you it in each bite...and then some! Cute place to walk in, but the donuts themselves are underwhelming. Interestingly enough, the glazed donut by far was the best of the ones we tried. Izzy was patient while we made our selection and provided friendly service. We chose the voodoo donut thinking the namesake donut would no doubt be good. I have been wanting to have Voodoo Doughnut forever and coming to Universal I was surprised to see a location here. We obviously had to visit!!! It was nestled into the City Walk of Universal Studios and actually is a pretty cool outside ambiance. They have the giant doughnut chair that pretty much EVERYONE who WASNT getting donuts were taking pictures in. The service was phenomenal... they have a system down and the people are actually very nice. It took no time at all to enter, buy the donuts and head on our merry way. We got the Voodoo, Chocolate Old Fashioned and the Portland Cream. The voodoo was adorable with its cute little face and pretzel stick arms. We just HAD to eat it up. We started with the Arms and head (of course!) and then jelly filling in the middle mixed with the donut and chocolate icing was perfect. This is one of my favorite splurge treats at Universal- the Voodoo really does it's job on me! Unpopular opinion, but I really am not a huge donut person. There's most any other dessert I'd choose before these, but Voodoo is one place I could never turn down! If you want your life changed, try the Mango Tango donut. That's right, a donut with mango filling that is tart and wonderful and all I need!! But they do have plentyyy of other great options too. For the chocolate lovers there are a couple really chocolately/ peanut butter/ java flavors, and I really enjoy the seasonal pumpkin options too. What can I say about this place... my daughter wanted to try them and when I saw a looooong line out I thought either people come here just for the experience or they must be amazing... well, it's both! The shop is super cool and they have soooo many doughnuts, I don't know around 70 or more. We bought only a few that called our attention and they were truly amazing. Probably the best doughnuts I have ever tried. They are pretty big so you can share, they are also soft and taste better than Krispy Kreme doughnuts. If you don't want to make the huge line, they have have boxes with 13 doughnuts (they choose them, but are their most popular) for a little less than $30. Good donuts for a good price available late if you don't mind waiting in line! We stopped in to get a half dozen donuts around 10pm Sunday evening to find a line around the outside of the building. I believe this is pretty commonplace at Voodoo so be prepared to wait a bit. Luckily, the interior design of the place is pretty cool once you get inside, with a rotating counter under glass in the middle of the room displaying the donuts of the day. As far as the donuts go, Voodoo's main draw is the sheer amount of options and their crazy concoctions that you wouldn't find at a more traditional donut shop. They have cake donuts, vegan donuts, raised donuts, etc. And they have something for everyone when it comes to flavors. We went with the coffee cake, butterfinger, Portland cream, little pink, and blueberry cake donuts. Overall, the donuts were tasty and all matched the flavors they described, although the quality felt closer to a Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme vs. some of the other 'artisanal' donut options we have in Orlando (looking at you Glass Knife and The Salty). One of the most surprising parts of our visit was the price, it ended up being something like $16 for half a dozen donuts. We expected it to be much higher given the store's location in City Walk. I am not one for lines, so I came one morning when it opened at 8 a.m. (still a little bit of a line, but it was all inside the building at least!) to get my box. The interior is interestingly decorated, so while in line, there is lots to see. Pro-Tip: Look at your options online first because when you get to the front of the line, you will feel rushed and pressured to select your doughnuts. The rotating case with samples is good to look at too, but I also got overwhelmed. I ordered the beautifully decorated Voodoo Doughnut, Ring of Fire (which was spicy!!), glazed, and Chuckles (chocolate frosted with mocha dust, peanuts and a chocolate/caramel drizzle). Sadly, they were out of the Texas Doughnut which is XL sized. I cannot vouch for how fresh anything was because they did not taste super fresh as I would have expected from buying the doughnuts first thing in the morning. The shop is an experience of its own. The lines are long and wrap around the building and are manned by an employee/security guard. The donuts taste great but nothing too amazing. It's more so the aesthetics such as the icing or topping decor of the donut that entice/compel one to try a donut. I highly suggest ordering the donuts on the Universal Orlando App about 30 min before pick up as it is a lengthy wait even for mobile order pick up. If you should order a donut that is unavailable via the app upon pick up, you will have to enter the store to make an alternate selection. However, if you ordered a pricier donut and they don't have one in the same price range, they will not refund your money and you will lose some money by settling for a more basic donut. We managed to snag some of these donuts on our last day in Orlando. The line was pretty long but moved very quickly so it wasn't a big deal for us to wait a little. We wanted to taste a few so we got a half dozen, which included the Little Pink, Miami Viceberry, Bacon Maple Bar, Blueberry Cake, Diablos Rex and a seasonal pumpkin donut. All of the yeasted donuts were super soft and the cake ones were all moist. My go to donut is usually a strawberry frosted, so Little Pink was definitely my favorite along with the pumpkin. Honestly all were great and we were really happy with the variety of options we were able to pick from. We did initially have two flavors that they ran out of for the time being so we had to make some quick adjustments when ordering at the front counter. Checked out Voodoo Doughnut in Orlando a while ago. If you're in the Universal Studios area, it's a spot you'll want to hit up for that famous pink box! I came pre-covid days when everyone was hustling and bustling. The line is almost always long and winds around, but they had it set up accordingly. I think I might have waited about 15 min tops to get in. Once you're inside, there's a bunch of colors and artwork to marvel at as you wait to place your order. They don't have a huge selection but what they do have are big doughnuts that will satisfy your sweet tooth. Their signature is the scary looking VooDoo Doll...which I did not get, lol. The doughnuts are thick and will fill you up, so don't get a lot if you don't want to be stuck with them. You could have them as a meal because they are that big imo! I had to go to see what all the hype was about but honestly wasn't blown away. I have tasted better, but I would come again just to get a pink box, lol! It's kind of a ritual that you have to fulfill while at Universal in Orlando. Prices are higher than average but clearly they are justified. Located close to the entrance of Universal Studios, Voodoo is a must have if you're in the area. They have a great variety of flavors and are always so fresh. The employees are friendly and work effectively to get your orders out quickly (especially when the crowds get large). I placed a mobile order via the Universal Orlando app while we were at UO. It started raining that afternoon so we headed on out to City Walk where the store is located. I guess I wasn't surprised to see the long line still even though it's raining. My app said my donut is ready for pick up after checking in but when I got to the mobile pick up counter (which is outside the store), the guy had to "check me in" which prompted them to start the order. I'm not a fan of their donuts. Yes, they're big, but their flavors are not good. I got a Portland Cream and an Apple Fritter. The cream in the Portland Cream was average. The employee who displayed the best customer service was the one at the door who controlled how many people were allowed into the store. The employee behind the counter lacked customer service skills. She just blankly stared at me while I was trying to decide what to order. She should have, instead, engaged in some conversation with me by asking what flavors I liked, made suggestions on my preferences or their trends and did her best to sell me on donuts and get me out of there. A fun place with some very cool doughnuts to try! Located in Universal's City Walk there is no way you'd miss spotting this place! The building is large and pink. That's not even as cool as what the place looks like inside. Be sure to wait in line as they are always packed with crowds consisting of tourists, locals and those that are employees grabbing a bite after their shift. These are popular and there's a reason for that. They hook you in with these wacky doughnut creations that are extremely tasty! Despite the long lines, they do move pretty fast in getting people in and out with their orders. There's a wall next to the queue with an image of their donuts but they also provide menus if you want to skim over it as you wait in line. The doughnuts can be switched out as time goes on but there's a few classics that stay put.
