Their staff is always super friendly and knowledgeable about all the products AND the fish/aquatic life they sell. This is important as many of the chain stores have little knowledge about the animals they sell and it results in the fish dying without proper care. 2. They have a great selection of high quality products for tanks, if you have questions about the products they can always answer them for you and figure out what would be best for your tank. 3. It is ALWAYS clean, the floors are clean, the tanks are clean, it smells like an aquatic store but it doesn't smell bad. This is important for the overall well being of the animals! I highly recommend coming here for your aquatic needs!

We had recently become betta fish parents and we want to learn how to be the best parents we can! Our Betta is about two months in at our home and we had started getting a real algae problem. Some of our plants started to get weird and junk so we pulled them out. We were geared up to get some new plants, a siphon tool to help us clean and change out the water, and of course learn more about how we can maintain a great aquarium for our fish. We happened to be off the same day so we made the trek over to Rivers and Reefs! Walking in was as if you were walking into the most intentional fish store I've experienced. The tanks were of differing sizes with various fish, plants, and decor inside the tank for the fish communities. There were salt water fish and fresh water fish. I loved seeing the crates beneath the aquariums with various rocks, driftwood, wood, and other aquarium decor we can purchase. Each crate was easily marked with the price per pound. I also loved that they had a few betta fish in large tanks with plants and other fish. The bettas looked happy and big!! It was such a nice thing to see after seeing so many bettas looking sad in those small cups at other pet stores. We were greeted by the employees there in a timely manner and one of them came over to help us as we decided what algae eater we should get and what plants would be good to add to our aquarium. The employee was incredibly friendly and helpful. She was patient with our questions and seemed very knowledgeable. We decided on a small clown pleco to add to our aquarium and a few plants that will hopefully take nicely and continue to grow. Once we got home we got to changing the water and getting it pretty clean. We got our pleco acclimated and now he's been cruising down below while Betta keeps enjoying his tank! We know we will definitely keep coming back to this store for all of our fish and aquarium needs. It felt less intimidating than other stores and the staff is incredibly helpful!

You run them ragged with missed items and hassles letting them know customers are on the way. Busy people rely on picking up pre-ordered items. My horse needs to eat and we spend thousands of dollars a year at your store. Fix the website immediately and keep it up and running!

On most trips, there is at least one employee out ON THE FLOOR for you to track down and ask for assistance with something. They're happy to help and act like it, which is a real departure from many shopping experiences today in most stores. They have items you'd expect at a TSC and maybe more, but it's NOT Menards, Home Depot, etc with 240,000 square feet of store. This also means you can get in, get your stuff, and be on your way in no time. When in doubt they carry an item, SIMPLE, I just go to their nicely functional web site. Use proper search terms, and if that doesn't find it, just take a second and browse through the product types you would think your item might be in, and some times they got it, and your search term just didn't grab it. No biggie. You can always call them too and ask a human. They got em! :)

Harrison street is the dividing line between Omaha and Bellevue, and they are on the Bellevue side at the corner of a strip mall. I have been buying DogGurt frozen treats from different pet stores and grocery stores in the past, but now it's even better that I can go straight to their store. They are also serving Brixtix Bakery for Dogs at this location, so that is a plus!. I stopped in today and bought my Blue Heeler girl some Blueberry Frozen Treat and a couple of cookies. She loved the Blueberry treat on this summer day! I highly recommend stopping in and checking them out! I will definitely be back!

The last time I was there, the gal working upfront at the register, seemed really mad for some reason. She scoffed or huffed and rolled her eyes when I would ask for something or ask a question. It just really seemed like she didn't want to be there. This most recent time, I was only given the shampoo and not the conditioner for the self wash that I ordered. Once I started the wash, I realized that one was missing, but couldn't very well leave my wet dog to go ask. I also thought they might've stopped offering conditioner and maybe they just only had shampoo...When I mentioned it at the front desk, there was no apology or offer of a small discount. Instead, the person at the front said "well, if you would have told us, we probably would've given it to you." Not a huge deal, but it just bugged me the way she spoke to me.

Both times I expressed my dissatisfaction after the groom and asked for assistance in fixing the problem. The time at Papillion they offered to groom him at a later date at no cost. I was not able to make it in due to a family move. Next, I took him to the Bennington location and, again, he came out looking like a first day groomer had groomed him. I took him back in today, a week later. The groomer was obviously not happy about having to fix him and said, she didn't have time to bathe him, (that I should have told them I wanted that!) what's more, she didn't really know what more she could do for him. When I asked if she really thought this looked like a dog who had just been groomed a week ago, she defiantly said yes. I was incredulous and tried explaining he was all choppy, he didn't even look like he'd been bathed the last time, nor had his ears been brushed out. The manager tried to be an intermediary, but ultimately took the groomer's side. At which point, I just shook my head and said I'm done and left. I have 4 standard poodles and a multipoo. I think a more courteous congenial attitude toward fixing the problem was in order before losing over $500 every 6 weeks to groom my crew! I was calm, explained what was wrong, and did not get angry. But I was frustrated and stupefied why they couldn't just shape him up and make him look fresh and well groomed.
