It was only after we tore off all the ram board of the house that we discovered he didn't finish the area around our glass flooring, the areas where the wood stops at every door frame, along with the areas around the staircase in my closet. Super sketchy that they tried to hide it by covering up all the flooring with ram board before everything was completed. I tried reaching out to Scott 8 different times , and sent 3 emails and in the end he just said what the areas that weren't finished was not in the contract . Really? Every contractor that I asked to come in to take a look specifically told me that as a flooring contractor the areas that I had mentioned should have been finished. Particularly since they were in the construction plans that Scott got to see before the house was built so that he could bid for the job. Just do yourself a favor by avoiding this mess of a contractor and STAY AWAY. Once again, if you are here on Yelp looking for a flooring contractor, or your contractor/designer whoever referred you to Floorz - just say you'll pass! Just look at all the negative reviews and you'll see there's a common theme. Also, for Scott or his family/friends leaving positive reviews in order to salvage this Yelp page - STOP IT! It's very obvious and embarrassing.

In each case, the interaction at the store has been easy and friendly, and the problems resolved swiftly. I was frustrated at one point, but it turned out to be my own fault: Rather than calling or dropping by the store, I was sending emails and getting no replies. I later found out that the emails were going to employees that were no longer there. The staff is friendly, and if you drop by the store, the owner will personally greet you and make sure you are happy.

To keep emotion and hyperbole out of this, I am stating clear and honest facts. When you visit SBDC you will be charmed! It is a beautiful place, the dream of Kamer. You will meet a great team who will do their best to make your dream remodel a reality. I promise that if you read the other reviews, you will read the joys of working with the designers and team that work with them. Kamer himself may even appear, especially if you have good money to spend, to charm you and woo you into a contract. You will be asked to sign a retainer, don't bother trying to get it back whether they hold up their end of the deal or not. If you sign a contract, the amount will be put toward the cabinetry ONLY, and if you forget to ask for it to be applied, they do too. Once you are under contract with SBDC (and you had better make sure you go over EVERY line in detail, because Kamer WILL find a way to wiggle out of anything he doesn't want to do if he can find even the tiniest loophole), you are subject to Kamer's will and he absolutely will exercise that will how he sees fit. SBDC is run like a dictatorship. Even the designers are asked to do things that are morally compromised if he does or doesn't want to do something. I will not air all the dirty laundry, as this isn't the place and there are innocent people involved, but more than one person has been fired or quit due to their unwillingness to carry out his orders. The customer suffers and is hung out to dry because an issue comes up that he doesn't want to deal with or would eat up his profit and there is nothing they can do about it. He will threaten to walk away from projects if the customer doesn't do what he wants. Remodels are messy, time consuming and will put pressure on any relationship. It doesn't help when you are dealing with a tight-fisted narcissist who has to have control over EVERY aspect of your project even if you never hear his voice. The designers (or a member of the team) have to deliver his messages because if he talks directly with a customer, he will be the epitome of the "bull in a china shop" as he is very brash and unfeeling unless the customer is anything but compliant. I highly suggest you scroll and find a review by Janelle T. I have intimate knowledge of that situation and stood up for Kamer honestly believing that he would do the right thing by the customer, but money took priority over a very good customer, and she lost more than she says in her review. Also be aware that several of the reviews are here because Kamer is willing to use quid pro quo. He will send a contractor or handyman back to your house to fix an issue if you leave him a review. Or he will just have his designers hound you for a review. Other reviews are from friends, acquaintances, and people that work in the same building as SBDC all posting to keep his stars above their true value. I post this as a challenge to the bully that put me under so much stress and duress that I had to take stress leave two months before I could go on maternity leave. I'm standing up to you as I should have then but didn't to protect the other person you hurt more than you will ever know. Doesn't matter how many times you find a way to get Yelp to delete this message. I will repost it. If it saves even ONE person from the heartache I have seen people who deal with you go through, it's worth it.

So I called him after emailing him some pictures. He said he was sure he could match what we had. So he came out to double check, to see what we wanted and to give us a price quote. He's pretty much out the same day you talk to him, or maybe in one day. To me, that by itself is remarkable as most installers need to schedule a time days in advance. Then, at the time he comes out he gives you the price. Granted, it may be written on the back of his business card. But it's immediate. Again, with other installers we talked with they had to go back to their shop to give us a price quote, usually a few days after they came out. We changed out mind about what we wanted a bunch of times. David was able to give us a price change immediately when we told him what we wanted. Of course, my wife wanted to get other estimates. I told her to go ahead with that. That took months because aside from people taking a week or two to come out and give us an estimate, a lot of them either disappeared before giving us an estimate or after giving us an estimate, or changing their mind about doing the work. So when we finally settled on D&O out he came again, took measurements, a deposit, and returned promptly within less than his estimated turn around time to put in what he'd built. A great match. Looks like they were always there. I'll add that if you don't know exactly what you want David will tell you what you'll like. And even if you know what you want he may still tell you. Regardless, he's professional, a pleasure to work with, and provides excellent, consistent, quality workmanship - much more a craftsman than an installer.

The cabinets are OK but the installation was sloppy…read more Upon further review I found the 4 problems with the installation. 1, They reused an existing molding. That was OK but one side of the molding is installed crooked ( the 45 degree angle is lower than the matching side). 2. One molding is a quarter of an inch short and is leaving a gap between the moldings. (No effort to fill it) 3. The molding was nailed in place but the nails are showing. *Should have been set and filled). 4. While drilling an access hole in the cabinet no effort was made to drill a clean hole and it splintered as it went out the other side. Very disappointing to spend that much money and have a sloppy installation.

The construction phase, though necessarily inconvenient, was conducted with immense respect for our privacy and need for cleanliness and order. That was Ryan's responsibility. After waiting for half an hour, I called the company myself and was then told that they don't service my area for smaller projects. I completely understand if my project isn't a good fit for the company, but this should have been communicated when the appointment was made, or at the very least sometime during the two weeks we were waiting for the consultation. We cleared our schedule specifically for this appointment, so it was very disappointing and unprofessional to be left waiting with no notice. A simple phone call ahead of time would have avoided the inconvenience.
