Charging $75 for a 4-minute visit without prior warning is completely unacceptable. Most reputable companies apply the diagnostic fee toward the cost of the actual job--not this one. Instead, I was given a stream of excuses about how other companies operate, trying to justify an outrageous charge for doing essentially nothing. If your business relies on surprise fees and misleading practices, it's no wonder you have to constantly remind people how "long" you've been in the industry.
