Too bad i cannot give a negative number. I would not use Gonzales Appliances for anything. Our experience was a bait-and-switch, price-gouging mistake. The Gonzales tech insisted on fussing with a weeping issue we had (from a plugged condensor discharge tube). He wasted lots of time (poorly) dismantling the freezer compartment. Ridiculously, the discharge tube is actually accessed at the lower back of the fridge. The tech had nothing to clear the tube, so my tool box provided the stiff wire needed. The tech then refused to check - without booking a second visit - why the freezer was not working (i.e. not freezing), which was the original reason for the call-out. It turned out that the freezing system (using freon or a more modern alternative) had a leak - diagnosed within 5 minutes by a real fridge repairman who we sourced through local friends (so, live and learn). The fridge was replaced, because leaks can't be fixed on modern fridges. And, having the tech fix the leaking discharge tube (which he insisted on) was a complete waste of time and money ($250). read more

Our refrigerator has both an ice maker and a water dispenser which uses filtered water. Unfortunately, several months ago, the tubing system which delivered water to both the water dispenser and the ice maker developed a leak problem. We attempted to have this problem repaired. But had no luck in doing so. Then by word of mouth. We heard that he Gonzalez Appliance and Repair was competent and reliable to complete the repairs successfully. The technician, Julio, was very thorough determining which parts needed to be replaced. Actually, there were three or four items that needed replacement. After a week or so. Julio returned to complete the job with the new parts. Both my wife and are pleased to report that the leakage problem has been completely and totally fixed. My daughter called them out to check out our 20 yr old washer! First they "call you at 10am" the day they are scheduled to come out and give you a time of arrival. (not scheduled to be there at 10A...just call to let you know when they think they can get there.) Then not only did they not show up at all, no call, nothing. I had to call them. Just total disregard for any customer service. (And no, Emily, I had no missed calls and no voice mails from you at all. So stop with the "I tried to call you three times" crap.) So I can't comment on their actual expertise but any business needs to start with being true to their committed schedule and if stuff happens MAKE SURE you let the customer know as soon as possible. My client was not satisfied. The refrigerator was not closing with the new gasket. They charged me extra. I told her that they shouldn't charge until the client was happy and everything was working as you should. The receptionist did not care about the job or the service that was performed only about the money she ran my card, even though I told her that nobody was satisfied, and we needed to rectify the situation. I told her over and over that the clients are not happy. She could care less. I even sent her a couple messages. She never responded. Please do not use this company. They act like they are a high-end company. They charge like a high-end company the tech (if you can call him a tech) comes out not in a service truck but an old beat up car with a little handbag but they act like they are a high-end company in charge crazy amounts of money. I'm getting ready to sell and wanted to make sure all appliances were in top order. I'd really had very little issues. Prices were high on parts but very high on labor. But I'm giving low ratings due to service man kept fiddling with my frig controls (only the icemaker flap in door was issue) and left after checking other appliances. I'm extremely busy getting house ready for staging. Two and half days later went in frig to get milk for husband and my brand new gallon wax sour. Then I smelled bad meat. The frig AND freezer were very warm. HE GAD TURNED THEM BOTH OFF AND LEFT. I HAD NO IDEA FOR NEXT TWO AND HALF DAYS. I called and told them I wanted my service appt money back. My dishwasher needed repairs I called GONZÁLEZ repair. The first time they sent a man that did a horrible job. Didn't fix the problem. The dishwasher was lob-sided after he supposedly repaired the dishwasher. Didn't sanitize... didn't clean dishes ..I was really disappointed. Of course, I called to complain . I told the company to send a pro not a beginner... The company sent Eric. I told him all my complaints. He was a very understanding, kind young man, He told me it needed a part that was not originally ordered. I wasn't even told it needed it. Our built-in microwave failed and we needed a repair. Gonzalez appliances provided a reasonable estimate of cost which they honored at check-out after the work was done. The replacement cost for the microwave was $2,899.00 so we were relieved to have it repaired for much less. They included a 30 day warranty. Please note this review if for their repair service and not their retail store. My dryer broke and used this company becuase they were local. Got an appointment for repair and they were a few days out not a big deal. Their price to come out and look at the drier and figure out the problem was fair and if you use them for the repair the money goes towards the repair and they wave the charge. What is odd is they don't give you arrival times until day of repair. Repair guy came within the window given. He was friendly but it was a bit hard to communicate since he was more fluent in spanish then english. No biggie though he was able to tell me what was wrong. He replaced a sensor on the dryer and he left after testing for about 10mins. I ran a load of laundry and the same issue occurred. I called the office and they advised me that he used the wrong part and a new one would need to be ordered. I was advised it would take a few days to get. I believe after 4 days they were ready to come back and replace the part. Same repair guy came replaced the part and tested it for a bit and it worked. After he left I ran my laundry and the fryer failed again. At that point the company offered to pickup the dryer and test it at the shop. They were prompt to pick it up. Left it there for a couple of days and when I called to check in on it the phone staff didn't appear to have a clue on the status and thought I still had the dryer. I was advised they would have to call me back before the end of the day. No call came that day which bummed me out. Called them back the next day same confusion and had to get a little assertive and let them know I'm running out of clothes after about 2 weeks of trying to get this repaired. Got a call back and said the unit is running fine so their not sure what the issue They dropped the unit back and their repair person said they will do a full clean and they suggested I clean out the vent line as they felt it was clogged. Sure enough there was a good amount of lint in the vent line. He also suggested that I clean the lint trap filter about once a month as it was really dirty. He cleaned it for me. Since that has happened, everything has worked great. Repair guy felt the lack of airflow was shorting the sensors out quick. Overall I'm totally indifferent on the review for this company. Glad they got it fixed, price was fair. Wish they could have diagnosed the issue correctly in the beginning and also wish the phone staff was a little more organized and customer service friendly and could offer appointment times when the appointment is scheduled rather then leaving you hanging till day if service. Our wine cooler suddenly stopped working, so I conducted a search via Yelp for an appliance repair company. After reading the reviews for Gonzalez Appliances, I thought there might be some hope. I was concerned, however, that the repair might cost as much as buying a new cooler. I called and scheduled an appointment. There was a scheduling conflict on their part, and they called and cancelled. The second appointment was successful. The technician arrived, removed the built in wine cooler, and started to diagnose the problem. He determined the cooler needed Freon. After refilling the Freon, the cooler began to work. I called and they sent a person right away. He seemed to know what he was doing but before be left he said I need to get payment for this to be applied to repair. I waited a week with no calls for repair. When I started calling daily they called back with a $500+ estimate. The price was high but when I said when can you fix it, they started saying it would take days to get the parts..... They had not even ordered the parts and I am in an RV which they knew and I have to move in a couple days at this point. I asked for a refund on the original payment and they would not give it to me. BE AWARE! The owner Kevin Gonzalez backed up into my garage door and completely broke my garage door system and bent the whole panel. He pretended wanting to pay for the reparation that's HE CAUSED and then was SPITEFUL and refused to sell me his washer/dryer. He asked me to call someone the same day to fix the door on him. Which I did. Then he disappeared on me, NOT ANSWERING my calls or texts and NOT ANSWERING the Garage Door guy to pay for what he did! BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL! And by the way! He was supposed to deliver between 10 am and 1 pm he arrived past 4 pm. THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS UNPROFESSIONAL. My dishwasher and microwave both broke the same day! We called Gonzalez Appliance; they came out the same day and quickly diagnosed the issues. They ordered the parts and arranged to return to perform the repairs when the parts arrived. They came when promised and repaired the dishwasher beautifully. The microwave, apparently, has two motors and they replaced the wrong one. They had to order a second motor and when it came in, they replaced it for no additional labor or materials charge. The workers were pleasant and professional. The reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars: their office staff is slow to communicate and return calls. They also call fairly late in the morning (between 9:30-10:30) to schedule appointments. Most places call by 8:00am. Finally, the workers who arrived did not wear booties on any of their three visits, though they wore masks. I found Gonzalez' prices to be higher than average but my appliances were repaired and now work perfectly. read more

Unfortunately no one from Gonzales responded to either emails. This is really a simple request. I just need my paid receipt and a quote report of the service visit stating that the refrigerator is not reparable. I need to submit to my insurance company. This company already charges more than the $75 standard diagnostic fee ($85) and will charge double or triple the amount if they look at more than one appliance. For example, the dryer is $85, but the washer and dryer is $170. Ridiculous. read more

Gonzales Appliance quoted a repair on a small out door fridge at a rental property back in September. We live out of the area so communicated by phone. They took the fridge to their shop and "repaired" for over $500. When we arrived back in town 3 months later we discovered fridge was still not cooling and ice maker was not functioning. I called Gonzales Appliance to inquire about the fridge not working after spending the money on a repair. I was told that the fridge was old and parts were not available to fix the fridge. Then I was told the warranty on the parts was only three months. I paid over $500 for a new part that now was informed is obsolete and not under warranty any longer. They contradict themselves and took my money for a repair that was never done. read more

Great technicians, but terrible front office. Was told for both of my appointments that I would get a call in the morning with an estimated time for the technician"s arrival time during the day. It took multiple calls the first time to get someone on the phone to schedule the time. Finally got someone, set the time and the tech was there very close to the time. Second time, same experience. This time I was told that when they called, there was a problem with the tenant. I explained that there is no tenant as I live here. I asked what number they had and it was my number. Wonderful family ran business! My LG washer gave me an error code OE then immediately the pump went out causing water to pour out of the bottom of my washer. I turned to Yelp to help me find someone to repair it and I could not have found anyone better! Very knowledgeable and friendly! Was able to get them out to my house within a couple of days, they had the part that was needed, installed it right away, and now my washer is up and running again! This is an updated review. I was quite unhappy with Gonzalez Appliances after dealing with them for an entire month trying first to get my dishwasher repaired and then to purchase a replacement. After I left a critical review, they contacted me to offer excuses (new, inexperienced staff and technicians having family issues) and asked me how they could make it right and get me to update my review. I asked for a partial refund for a part I bought to go in the broken and still unusable dishwasher. They issued the refund and so I have increased my review to three stars. I eventually purchased my new dishwasher from a different vendor. It was a long and frustrating experience, but they did contact me after I left my initial review, and that should count for something. read more
