I totally recommend Vu to work on your car. I walk inside his office to find many certifications. ASE, engine performance, suspension, etc. Very honest shop and technicians. He also is one of the only shops around town to install customer parts and only charge labor! Other shops give their spiel about warranty and crap and then decline you since you are bringing your own parts, Vu skips straight to business and tells you when you can bring in your car. I brought my Lancer OZ in with my replacement CV axle, Vu then asked about the make, model and year. Gives me a quick estimate and hand over my keys. Before afternoon hits, I get a phone call saying the Lancer is ready, pretty quick for a CV replacement! I head back over and see my car parked in front of the office, pay the cost of labor, returned car keys, and 'wala', no more clicking and popping CV axle and vibrations under load. My Honda CR-V was due for a B123 oil change/service per its maintenance minder...the job was done in 1 day at half the price the dealer quoted "to start with". First time I brought our van here. It's a small mechanic shop but don't let that fool you. As soon as I walk in, Vu approached me with a friendly smile. He listened to what I had to say, took my key and test drove our van to hear the issue that I described. Immediately he told me that diagnostics are FREE. Yes u heard me right, it's FREE. Compare to other shops and dealerships where diagnostics cost more than $100. I left his shop and h3ad straight to work. An hour later, he called to tell me the main problems, explained what he needs to do to fix it and gave me the price. Here's the best part... He welded my leaky exhaust, fix my exhaust, change all break pads and resurfaced the rotors all in one day. I highly recommend and will be bringing our cars here. read more

Efficient, produces results, and economical. New to the area, had a bad experience with Ford dealer, but my driver side power window was broken so I scoped out the Yelp reviews for a nearby mechanic. Vu had good reviews and I am happy to say the experience was as advertised. Called to tell him the problem on a Tuesday, he asked me to bring the car Thursday or Friday to give time for the part he thought he would need to come in. Gave me a quote over the phone. I drop off my car 8 am Thursday, he calls within an hour to confirm the issue (it was indeed the motor) and quotes me the same price he had earlier in the week (which was appropriate based on online quotes I had seen). Says it will be ready by noon. Noon comes, car is ready as promised, the window is repaired. Vu briefly walks me through the steps he took to investigate the issue and how he determined it was the motor and not any other mechanism, I pay, he hands me the keys, and I'm on my way (with my window rolled down for the first time in years). THAT. EASY. No unnecessary waiting, attempts to discuss other problems my vehicle may or may not have, or long drawn out explanations. In. Out. Fixed. It wasn't quite what I was expecting for an oil change. The $60 price surprised me, but then it is reasonable for synthetic oil.

My wheel bearing needing replacing and Vu's was a fair price. Their work was great and timely.

Recently I was on a road trip with my college aged daughter and noticed her back car door would not always lock. Unfortunately busy college students don't have the time to keep up with car repairs. Being from out of town and not having my familiar mechanic to assist us I had to rely on Yelp. Before arriving in Oregon, I was able to call Mr Vu up and explain the problem over the phone. He said likely it was the door lock motor but he needed to order it FedEx to get it asap since he did not have the part from his suppliers. I was willing to take the chance and paid for the part and the extra delivery charge since car door locks are important. He was right in pinpointing the problem and got us in to fix it quickly. Very happy with the service and quality at Vu's. My engine light came on in my late model high millage pickup truck. Vu fit me in, despite being very busy, diagnosed the problem and fixed it within a couple of hours. Total price was lower than what I found on the internet as the average price for repair. I will be coming back to Vu's for all my future mechanical needs. Vu's operation does seem to have a small staff and he seems to generally be quite busy so it may sometimes be hard to get through on the phone. Took my BMW here for checkup and service. Spent $800 first time around, another $300 2 weeks later to fix an issue that started after fixing the car the first time. At one point in the process, when the steering was still not fixed, he even declined to charge for the install of that part. Not only is he honest, he has had lots of formal training in the technical aspects of auto repair. He has a two-year associate degree in automotive technology. Furthermore, he continues to attend specialized workshops for various automotive systems, like brakes, fuel systems, and the like. Just glance at the wall in his office. There are many certificates that attest to his drive to keep up with developments in the auto repair field. Vu will not pad your bill with unnecessary repairs or replacements.
