This was my first time at VY nails. I walked in with no appointment and was taken right away. They were very nice and friendly. I only needed a pedicure and the younger guy who did my nails (I wish I had gotten his name) did a fantastic job. I love the way he shaped my toenails. The salon was very clean and everything looked fairly new and well maintained. Which is exactly what I was looking for! They also had a ton of polish colors to choose from. I am so happy with my experience here and will definitely be back! read more

They destroyed my nails. Used a drill to remove acrylics and I had to keep telling my technician that my nails were feeling warm. Afterwards, my nails were so weak, I flipped the pinkie nail inside out when getting dressed. Furthermore, they caused damage to the nail bed resulting in separation so now I have to watch and clean my nails carefully to decrease the risk of fungus. I should not have gone back after they used only soft wax during an intimate wax... I had scabs! It was soooo painful. This place takes no pride in their work and doesn't give two farts in the wind about causing harm to their customers. read more

I stopped in for a pedicure July 24, 2020, because it's close to work (E-Library South Lakeland). This salon is back in the SE corner of Lake Miriam Square shopping center, next door to the Palace Restaurant (very good!). Luckily they weren't busy and I got seated with a specialist immediately. The shop is clean and they're taking all reasonable precautions to prevent infection. That said, the acrid fumes from the mail polish was very strong & the owners should address that when they can upgrade with better ventilation exhaust from the polish stations.. My pedicure was efficient and effective. The specialist was super nice & welcoming & invited me to come back for another visit next month. I probably will. read more

I'm incredibly please with my dip powder manicure. I'm home visiting my parents and am always disappointed when I have to get my nails done somewhere else than my usual spot, but my nails were long overdue. My nail tech was meticulous! Issues I've had elsewhere: paint / polish on my skin, uneven edges, inconsistent thickness, cut cuticles, or doing the dip powder but not cleaning up cuticles etc. At Vy nails, she covered all the bases and the selection of colors was excellent. I had called them how much are manicures? They are 15 dollars. Ok, so I go in to get a manicure-pick out my polish. During my manicure, she asks for my card , swipes. I have to sign for $20 for basic manicure!! Livid-I wasn't quoted this. I can get this basic manicure for cheaper in Orlando and Tampa. I was in a rush so wanted to try them out. I'm a local. Usually I stick to the same nail salon but today my friends and I decided to try something new before a competition this weekend. All three of us got pedicures. At first I was very concerned with the fact that only 5 people were working and 3 were doing full sets. I waited for 10 mins with my friends before being seated. My friends were done first so they had to wait for me for 20 minutes for one of the ladies to finish and move on to mine. I didn't have an issue with it though. They were all nice women, starting conversations, and being attentive with drinks. The pedicure was $25, am average price for this area, and was very inclusive. My issue starts at the waxing. I decided last minute to get my eyebrows waxed, something I do often but I had never had it done there. I always convince myself "it's just hair" so i'm not particular. My eyebrows look beautiful. The wax, though, was too hot and now I have burns under my eyebrows. Thankfully, no skin was torn but they'll definitely burn for days. So much for a great competition tomorrow! Just thought I would warn you if you're looking for a wax!! read more

Don't waste your $$. I am not one to write negative reviews, however after spending $60 on a pedicure (that is supposed to have massage, hot stone massage, and callus' removed) I have to go somewhere else to have that done. The Hot Stone massage was less then 5 minutes. The young man who performed the service was kind, but their service standards are below poor. read more

We were not please with our Pedi's at all! I have to say it was the worst I have ever had. We get the gel polish and all of us had polish on our toes. The top coat was up over my cuticles. I had asked my girl to shape my nails slightly rounded, but instead of filing them, she took the clippers and cut them way down on the sides. Now I have ingrown nails to look forward to!! I also noticed as people were walking in the door they would tell them to pick out a polish, but not telling them that it would be a long wait. I started seeing people walk out because it was taking so long. They only have 4 people working there. Sorry, but I do not recommend this place!!! read more

very disappointed. i picked color i got something different. they left me cuticles on me . just did yesterday anlooks like i'v done week ago, Gel is way up from my nails. its shame. very bad job. i fixed at home by myself. but cant remove this funky color because im gonna damage my nails. i don't recommend this place ! read more

The staff's still awesome, the quality's good but if you go please MAKE AN APPOINTMENT...otherwise they'll put you in a pedi chair for a half hour before anyone comes over to you. I just moved to Lakeland and this was my first pedicure since living here. Vy nails' staff was warm, friendly and did an excellent job with my pedicure. I got the deluxe pedicure, which was worth the extra $10 upgrade. Many places I've been to, it seems like there is no difference between a standard or deluxe pedicure, but that was definitely not the case here. Overall, a great experience, terrific pedicure and massage. I will definitely be returning! read more
