He was sitting at the bar and initially quiet, but quickly started to become fussy, loud, and distracting. This combined with a dish arriving cold (which the manager acknowledged and comped), a long wait for drinks, and less than attentive service sitting on the patio, and it was truly just your average experience. You could tell that whoever cooked it took pride in their job. The music was a little too loud, and the waitress never brought any refills on drinks. This was the only negatives. Tried it out with my boyfriend he got the crab cakes appetizer and I got the deviled Eggs appetizer.. they were both amazing!! Usually crab cakes can taste so processed and tuna like but not these and the fried deviled eggs were insane. Toped with a glazed like bacon sauce on top (YUM and different ) . Although not a full five stars just because their actual entrees we got (he had the salmon croquettes and i had a Philly cheesesteak) were just okay the croquettes could have had a side to be more of a meal and my sandwich did what it had to do but nothing to rave about. But with the way the appetizers were I'm sure other entrees are better then the ones we chosen. So a few weeks ago I went to Vybz for happy hour with a friend for the first time , while there I thought this would be a good place to bring the office for our "Happy Thursday". I talked to the manager made a reservation for up to 15 people for yesterday at 1100. I arrive at 1100 yesterday and to my surprise they were closed!!!!!! They had recently changed their hours because of staffing issues and were not opening until 5 . The owner Codera came out and said he was sorry of course I am like I have 11 other people on the way , I made this reservation in person weeks ago nobody called me to tell me that you all were now closed. He said hold on the cook is here let me check with him. Alvin the cook come out and said no problem. Willie and Codera said give us 20 minutes to set up. Service was great!!!! We were able to order from the full menu, Willie the server was the best very attentive and quick. The food was great only one person had leftovers and that was only because he ordered hush puppies but got fries and they brought the hush puppies out anyway and he had a few left and didn't want to leave them. This is how you handle business!!!!! they made a mistake but instead of losing a customer they gain customers that had never heard of their restaurant. A new restaurant and it is definitely a vibe!! We I started off with a mimosa, it was amazing and our server was quick and put our appetizers in, we got the crab cakes and deviled eggs. WARNING!! Went for brunch, the food was decent (could've been slightly better). Ordered an orange juice, didn't come out until 15 mins later. It seems as if only the girls working the bar can make the drinks (including non-alcoholic), but they move extremely slow. Also ordered mimosas right after we placed the meal order. Mimosas didn't come out until we were taking our last bites. Their hookahs are slightly overpriced. They have a live Jazz player in house until 1pm, and it's super loud that you can't hear your waitress or the person in front of you, not to mention your ears hurting. Great jazz player, but he's honestly probably turning away more customers than keeping because of the noise level. The waitresses outfits are trendy with the bigger city brunch locations (ex: Atomic Bottle Houston *10/10 by the way), but it's slightly awkward walking around in booty shorts to Jazz.
