I was devastated. A few days before the wedding I visited my grandmother in El Paso and researched salons. Despite some negative reviews, I made a consultation appointment with Mireya at Ana's Salon. THANK GOODNESS, SHE IS AMAZING! Mireya assured me the TN stylist was wrong and my hair can get light. It would take a couple of sessions of course, but it was definitely doable. After my consultation she delivered beautiful, light color with impressive professionalism, service and quality of work. The salon is clean, welcoming, and offers beverages to clients. Additionally, Mireya, Christina, and the stylists obviously take pride in their work and take the time to do it right. The prices may seem a bit high but that's because you pay for what you get- Above average quality work. For reference, I paid $360 and it was worth it. Best coloring I've ever received. Ana, the owner, is very involved and likes to meet the clients personally which I thought was a nice touch. I've attached a photo for comparison. Top left is my original hair, top right is after the TN stylist, bottom left is after Mireya at Ana's Salon. Bottom right is what I showed both the TN stylist and Mireya as my dream hair- Obviously you can see how Mireya nailed it. She would need one more session to get it to the dream hair ashy color.

One thing that I appreciate very much is the fact that they continue to evolve with the demands of current trends. Even though I continue to request the type of haircut that I've always gotten. I see younger people leaving with more modern cuts. Especially, if you show them in a book the kind of haircut you want, they'll make every effort to get it at least very similar. Her hair was well done by her usual stylist who was busy at the time which is why she chose House of Beauty to begin with. Since the appointment (which was in November), her hair has broken off big time, thinned, and lost definition. Although it has only been 3 months, it took extensive effort, and copious amounts of out-of-pocket money to get back to MAYBE 25% of where she was before, definitely more money than the near $700 she paid for a TOUCH UP. To blow a respectful customer off this horribly as someone who is supposed to be a professional and proficient at what they do is wrong on so many levels, and to try to hide the situation, manipulate your reviews, and lie your way out of it is mind blowing (see Břöœķ Ķ.'s review for better understanding.) Before my appointment, my hair was healthy, long, and well‑maintained. I have photos showing its condition immediately prior to the service. I also have photos of the clumps of hair that began falling out afterward--including breakage at the crown, bangs, and mid‑shaft--which is consistent with chemical overprocessing, not normal shedding. The owner's public response claims my hair was "severely damaged" when I arrived. That is not accurate. No strand test was performed, no documentation of pre‑existing damage was taken, and no concerns were raised during the consultation. If my hair had truly been in the condition she now describes, a responsible professional would have refused to apply multiple rounds of bleach and chemical processes. She also questioned whether I washed or cared for my hair properly afterward. This contradicts her own instructions during the appointment, where she told me not to wash frequently because natural oils help maintain color. I followed those instructions and still experienced significant breakage. I have receipts for the professional products I purchased afterward -- including K18 and other treatments which have already cost more than the original service. The owner also stated that I waited "more than 30 days" to contact her. This is not true. I reached out through multiple channels immediately after noticing the damage. My messages were ignored until I eventually found her personal number on a business card. I have timestamps and screenshots of all communication. My hair continues to thin, and I now have a mix of long strands and short, broken pieces throughout. Two licensed professionals--one in California and one in Texas--have confirmed that the pattern of breakage is consistent with chemical overprocessing. I asked if I could then receive my $189 back instead and they said none of their services were refundable even though the contract did not mention Bridal Trial refund policies. They did offer me to get another trial for free with someone else but I am not living in the area and I could not fly back for another trial. I explained this to them and they said they could just give me the wedding day services for free instead and have my bridesmaids pay for their stuff. I didn't think this was fair because I would still have to pay for 6 girls to get their hair done after paying for the trail and I wouldn't know if the new artist would be any better. They would not budge even though I was only asking for partial refund. The final email from the owner said no further response was required after she said nothing was refundable. I was never vulgar or disrespectful in my emails to them and I did not deserve to be told to not reply to their emails. If you look at the photos you can see that my hair wasn't even brushed. The eye liner was very crooked and the artist told me she needed practice doing this.

I explained that I prefer nicely blended highlights that were done mostly on the already lighter parts of my crown/Mohawk. It was my fault for not realizing she was starting whole head highlights, as I am used to getting all over color for the last 10 years. The highlights that were done are chunky all over and uneven on top. There must have been some foil sliding or bleach not put close enough to my scalp on top (or applied halfway through) that wasn't noticed. The sides are super white and then gradients to how they are supposed to look at the ends. From afar I almost look bald in those areas. The color achieved on top was kinda close to what color I wanted but once again, not nicely as blended as I wished. Also missing a whole area on top. Still giving 3 stars because the stylist was very nice and the hair cut was done well. I'm not a very confrontational person, so I will just have my hair fixed at my next appointment at another salon.
