I have been coming to wolfskill for nearly 8+ years and I must say it still is my favorite place to be in DTR. The lights are always dimmed and give a moody romantic vibe. At times the music is very subtle so you can have a good drink with good company. At times it's louder than usual so you will want to throw some booty on the floor (lol). Each bartender here or mixologist if they prefer, takes their job seriously and crafts each drink with care. I don't think I've ordered a well drink from here but I can say that a whiskey sour WITH the egg is delicious. If you haven't tried it, please do. From old fashions to pho-tinis you will always have some delicious drink to pick from. Parking is typically easy since it is a few blocks from DTR . They have a little marquee sign that changes the quotes daily. At times they have themes and have some amazing quotes. I always snap a photo when I'm there( if my phone isn't dead). They also have a cute make out booth to take photos with your friend, date or whomever. It's cash only so be sure to bring extra funds so you can get some cute pics. The bar accepts all major forms of payment. I always use the QR that is on your receipt to save the servers the trouble. read more

Drinks are good. Atmosphere is vibey. I've only had the fries, they're not the crunchy kind, but their house made ketchup is tasty. It's sweet and reminds me of Filipino ketchup. 1 star, however, due to the service. Our waters remained empty for the duration of our stay. In a near empty bar, our drinks took a surprisingly long time to get to us. Even then, they came staggered, maybe about 5-10 min apart. For a cognac neat and a class of prosecco. We saw our drinks sitting at the bar not moving. If it was busy I'd understand, but they're was maybe 4 small parties in the bar. I will say, our waitress changed and her attitude was much better. But the initial part of our visit left a sour taste. Wow, as we were leaving, we were asked if we paid for the bill. That was pretty hurtful. Do I look like someone who would skip on the bill? What vibes were we giving that we'd not pay for our order? If you have a system in place that allows people to pay for their bill independently, you need to have positive intent that people will pay for their bill, or just not do it all. I've been coming here since it opened with fond memories, but I guess times have changed. read more

4.5 stars. I have not yet found a cocktail bar in Riverside with better vibes than W Wolfskill. It features lots of warm wood, cozy booths, and a dimly lit interior--this place basically has the atmosphere of a sexy speakeasy. The back of the bar features a retro "office" that reminds me of Don Draper and Megan's apartment, as well as a makeout (photo) booth. Happy hour goes until 8pm on weekdays which is hard to find for bars with this level of sophistication. The specials vary per day but often feature tried and true classics like an old fashioned and Moscow mule. My favorite is the Mexican firing squad but is a tad on the sweeter side. Personally I think the food is just ok, but they do offer a few more interesting selections than most cocktail bars. The mushrooms are heavy on the garlic (beware if you're on a date). I'd recommend to skip the Kennebec fries, they were soggy and served with house made ketchup which was far too vinegary for my taste. The exterior is quite unassuming because the signage is just a big orange "W". Street parking is typically easy to find right in front (unlike in downtown just a few blocks away) and free after 7pm on weekdays. read more

This is one of those spots that just has such a good energy you can't help but have a good time. We quickly made friends with the staff who have all been amazing. We've been there three times in the past few weeks and the food and drink quality as well as the service has been consistently top notch. Maddy has been amazing, attentive and friendly! W Wolfskill was built atop another local favorite, the Falconer. It has an unassuming exterior and a nostalgic Mad Men vibe feel with the front door and interior decor being from the 1960-70s. A time where a hard drink between work meetings or after work was a common practice. The dimly lit warm tones that highlight the interior is great. It creates an intimate ambiance for one's dates, it comfort ones eyes from the bright lights of the office or the Sunny California sun. The drinks here are spot on. Caters to a wide array of people. You have the fruity, sweet drinks to the strong, old fashion cocktails that I personally love. The food here are small, tapas size servings. Portions that won't make you full but enough to say "I haven't eaten," to the Mrs. when supper is waiting at home or enough to fill you and your beautiful date as you bar hop to other places. I am rambling at this point, W Wolfskill is a MUST visit if you're new to the area and want a cozy, relaxed place to drink and have small talks. Before the pandemic, I used to love Wolfskill and was a regular too. The drinks were always strong and made to perfection. After they reopened the drinks have been terrible every time. I've come back a couple different times and tried a couple different drinks to make sure it's not just me. I love that they change the menu every so often but the drinks now are just too sweet and really weak, I doubt there's any alcohol in them. I even ordered a margarita one time thinking maybe it's just the menu drinks that are not good, but the margarita was so bitter, it was terrible. The prices here are definitely better than most of the bars in DTR that are charging $18 for cocktails. I just hope the quality of drinks eventually improve here especially since the prices are pretty reasonable. Before they closed they used to do a happy hour from 5pm-7pm on week nights, not sure if that's still the case since reopening. I will say though the vibes at Wolfskill are unmatched. There's no other place like it in Riverside and I probably would just drink elsewhere but go to Wolfskill for the atmosphere. It does get really crowded by 7:30-8pm on busy nights so I would make sure to get there by 7pm especially if you're looking to snag a booth. read more

Third time here. First time - amazing. Second - even better. Third - meh. I sat with a group of 5 other people at the back table & although our service was off to a good start, eventually, our server seemed to have forgotten about us. Eventually, one server finally approached us, took our order, but it was at least another 20-30 minutes before we got our drinks. Sucks because we really hyped up this place to our friends and we were excited about them experiencing it the same way we had the last couple of times we visited. Overall, drinks are good, vibes are great. I'd probably go back BUT I'd request a specific server. Or just know that you may be forgotten if you sit in the back cute area. Never gotten food here but I heard it's great! The drinks are what keep bringing me back - they are always well made which is nice because Riverside lacks quality craft cocktails! Only issue I have is that I can never seem to order a beer on draft here. I usually come in on Wednesdays or Tuesdays around 10 pm and every item I ask what's on draft I am told they only will sell bottled beer. Maybe the clean the lines on those days or last call for draft was at 9 pm when they close at midnight but it'd be nice to try what's on draft someday. read more
