When I finally got through the barrage of abrasively upbeat music which threw in a melody from a whistling chorus (because there's no way of saying "I hate my customers" more than bad, upbeat music with a whistling chorus), I got to Bernie. Bernie seemed nice if a bit beleaguered. He sounded defeated in the way that came from a long, drawn out existential crisis that he seemed be losing. Bernie apologized that he did not in fact have the capability to transfer anyone to any department to any Best Buy anywhere. I can understand why he sounded so defeated. When I asked him why he could not, poor, defeated Bernie simply hung up. It's nice to know that Best Buy's corporate policy of disdain and utter hatred for its customer is so much a part of their corporate ethos that it makes down to even the lowliest phone operator. Well done, Best Buy. You did it. I called to check on their selection that I was not able to find on their web site. My girlfriend had to talk me out of countless other 8+ items, but I might spin the block and buy them for myself. The advancement in nerf gun technology is fascinating. In total I spent $300 on toys and filled a life-sized stocking with toys for him, as my personal theme for his party was "Christmas in July." Best $300 I've ever spent.
