I love this place, wanted to try a healthy version of Panda Express and I got it I love the beef plate and their kale salad is to die for!!! I also love the fact that they serve brown rice and a piece of fruit. I ordered the salmon veggie bowl and was very disappointed. The salmon was very over cooked and the veggies were cold and soggy. Thankfully they have a serve yourself teriyaki station so I was able to mask some of the taste of the over cooked fish. read more

Rate WaBa Grill for what it is...a fast food joint and I think it's pretty decent. I work in this area and WaBa is a good lunch option. Food is always fresh and the prices are great. Much better (and fresher) than Yoshinoya! I love that you can add fresh avocado to your bowls! read more

Just ate here and wow! what awesome service. We stopped here just after 2 very long flights- before we went home. It was fast and delicious. Our experience really made the 5 stars, because the manager helped us when my son didn't like the riblets. We thought we had ordered it without sauce, but came to find out that it is marinaded and that we can't get it without it. The manager came over to our table and asked what else she could get for him. she recommended the salmon and also asked how he would like it cooked. My son loved the salmon! The service was good. I was greeted immediately before fully walking up to the counter. They were out of steak and didn't have the wraps for $6.99, which wasn't a big deal. I ordered two salads, barbecue ranch and Asian style. They were also both around $6.99, no more than that. I gave this restaurant three stars because I felt like the food quality could've been a little bit better. The chicken was charred too much and tasted burnt in almost every other bite, lettuce was not very fresh either. Overall I probably wouldn't to return back to this restaurant. read more

I am very appalled to be writing this review based on my experience at this location. I've come to this location many times before, usually around 5-7pm, but last night, Tuesday to be exact, a group of friends and I came in around 8:50 - late I know, but we've all got busy days. As we walked in, we all noticed a man of Asian descent, not wearing uniform and sitting down in the lounging area, while the rest of the crew was nowhere to be seen. The grill looked turned off, and the whole place looked abandoned. After entering, he gets up in a leisured manner, not at all worried about what is going on around him, asked me what I want to order and had a rude attitude. I thought to myself, "Hey, don't worry about it. You've worked fast food before you know late customers could be a nuisance" and ignored his behavior. I ordered 2 chicken bowls with avocado and a drink, along with a bag and a lid to take the second one home to my little sibling; and through out the entire interaction, he spoke down to me for no reason at all. He didn't ask me what size of drink I wanted and attempted to charge me extra for a large drink. Deceitful already, interesting. In a respectful manner, I noticed it and let him know I'd like to actually order a small drink instead. He gave me a dirty look, changed the size and told me my total. Whatever right? No big deal. I work customer service as well, I know how it can be. What shocked me was after I had ordered and it was my friends turn. He continued to speak down to even my friends, and made fun of my order. All of this rude, bad behavior made 0 sense to me; we walked in and it was like he just had something against us. Now upset, I received my order- did not receive my bag and lid- went up, asked for it and was ignored. I waited until they finished up making my friends' order and they looked at me and asked me what I wanted, just like that. We did not come in there with any form of hostility, we came in there treating them like how we would like to be treated. We finally sit down and eat, you could tell the chicken was old and it was sitting for awhile. They may have cooked more than they needed so they didn't have to drop any fresh batches-hence the grill appearing turned off. And they definitely skimped out purposely on the avocado. Again, I'd just like to state I used to come to this location often and this was out of norm. Last time I've been in this Waba Grill location was maybe a few months ago. I don't know what's happened since then, maybe it was just a bad day for them, or maybe it was just a bad PM crew who despise their jobs. I've always been greeted upon entering this location, and I've never received any hostile behavior, so for this to happen is definitely shocking to me. The place was still open for another hour and they were so focused on closing and going home that they did not care about how it affected their customer experience. Worst place ever. Staff is rude beyond belief. Something was wrong with the soda machine and they ran out of white rice for our bowls. When we told them the soda machine wasn't working right he just walked away. We had to go to 7-11 and buy sodas after spending money at their restaurant for horrible soda. The steak in my husbands bowl tasted horrid. I would have rather eaten my dogs food. It probably tastes better than that steak. The chicken in mine and my kids plates was burnt. Also the whole place smells like urine. It smells like they dumped some kinda cleaner to overpower the smell but that didn't work. I'm so very disappointed in this place. read more

So I jus had to tell everyone about my experience here at this waba grill. In particular, marina. So , I walked in and she greeted me, then I told her that I would like a veggie bowl, no carrots extra cabbage and well cooked, she said no problem she has got. Then I paid and I seen her proceed to actually make sure my veggies we're done right. Not only that while I was eating I seen her do other duties like cleaning the dining area. Bad customer service. The food is great but its hard to enjoy when the cashier is telling you you ordered something you didnt. Clearly the order was misheard and if that was the case you should admit fault and fix it. Don't make the customer settle for a product they aren't happy about. I didnt want to write a bad review but this has happened on multiple occasions and it needs to be addressed. Improve your customer service. Great food and great service. I come here on a weekly basis and I'm in and out quickly. Food is always tasty and on point. Clean environment and bathrooms too. I do wish they'd cut the lemons into wedges so squirting juice into my salmon would be a lot easier. And Isabella (cashier) needs to smile more often. More often than not, when she's taking my order, she's not making eye contact and seems so apathetic. I always try giving her the BOTD every visit that she's there but it's always the same deal with her. Hope she improves. read more

IDK what happened to this location. I've been to this one quite a few times because its down the street from my house and I've never been disappointed. Well tonight was a different story. Should've known something wasn't right when I pulled up and there was not A soul in there. I thought they were closed until I noticed the OPEN sign in the window. I walk in and order a Waba bowl with avocado. The asian man whom I believe is the owner didn't have a problem charging me $1.80 for the avocado. Luckily I checked my food before I left, low and behold... NO AVOCADO!! I'm glad I checked cuz I would've been HOT when I got home and it wasn't there. Now I get home and my mouth is watering for my waba bowl. I was hungry and had a hard days work... Guess what?? The chicken was cold and the beef was dry, old and cold and not a drop of waba sauce drizzled over my food. This was the coldest, most dry waba bowl I've ever had in my life. The overall restaurant was great. One staff in particular was very, very kind and friendly, he even gave us samples of the chicken and beef meals. I ordered the Salmon Veggie Bowl, Half-Half Bowl and Beef Bowl for the whole family. The chicken was cooked really great, it didn't feel too burnt on the grill or too peppery, one thing in particular was that I was surprised that they didn't use oil in the cooking. That just gave a lot more boost to the health factor in this restaurant. The Salmon bowl was very light and nice, it was drizzled in some teriyaki sauce but you can add some more sauce if needed. They had hot sauce too, but I didn't try it because I didn't want to eat something hot after a long time of not eating. The rice was cooked nicely, not too soggy or dry, it was a bit sticky, and it reminded me of japanese rice. The beef was cooked greatly too, it tasted a lot like beef jerky, just a much more softer and moist texture. The veggies were just cooked without any sauce, I just dipped it in some teriyaki sauce for flavor. The only problem I had was with the paper cups that served the teriyaki / hot sauce, when I dipped into the sauce it stuck onto it and I had to shake it off a lot, which became more annoying after that. Was in town for a convention and me and a few buddies decided to walk a little distance to the Waba Grill off of Century. So glad I did! The environment was clean and inviting. It was my 1st time there and as I was looking up at the menu a Gentleman named Jessie H who was wiping down a counter (no wonder this place stays so clean) stopped what he was doing greeted us with a smile and asked if I had any questions . I asked how the beef was because some places beef is chewy with very little flavor! Jessie immediately asked if I would like a sample, I was impressed by the taste & the service! We all ordered beef or chicken veggie bowls and Jessie was sure to ask if we wanted Avocado (nice upsell). The awesome experience we had will be sure to bring us back when we are in the LA area again. And I will now start going to Waba Grill here in San Diego where I live.
