Our server brought water, took our drink order promptly, and explained how the prix fixe menu works: a canapé, salad, and entrée of your choice, with additional sides and desserts available for an extra charge. I ordered a fraisette and salmon, while my partner chose the fleur d'hibiscus and chicken. The canapés arrived with our beverages--a tasty bite of beef on gluten-free bread for me and a mini tart crust for my partner. Our salads and bread came next. The salads may not look like much in the photos, but the flavors worked beautifully together. My salmon was cooked perfectly, and of the four sauces provided, the chimichurri was my favorite. The fries were thin-cut, crispy, and lightly seasoned. My partner enjoyed his chicken too. Although we were already quite full, we decided to share a dessert each. Happily, everything is gluten-free. The food tasted good enough. The salad was refreshing, the canapes were a bit salty but fine with a nice crunch from the Phyllo dough, and my husband's mocktail was yummy. The steak though was a bit tough. I ended up cutting mine into very small pieces and that made it ok, but it was a bit disappointing. Made reservations on a Saturday for me and my husband and another couple. There was some parking nearby but we decided to park in the parking garage. Once inside we were seated in a booth and greeted by our nice waiter. I've heard mixed reviews but I must say the food was good. The le beef sauce really gave the steak great flavor and the cheesecake was also my favorite. My only thing was we were enjoying ourselves just talking afterwards and we were rudely told we had to leave. We stopped into Le Beef at Legacy in Plano for lunch today, and what a pleasant surprise. They've only been open about 45 days, but everything already feels dialed in. The vibe is very French -- classy, cozy, and beautifully decorated -- and the location couldn't be better. Our server, Blaze, was awesome. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and walked us through their prix fixe lunch menu, which was a great deal at $29 per person. It starts with a light salad, a beef canapé, and a basket of warm bread with salted butter that was absolutely fantastic. For the main course, it's all about their steak frites, which come cooked rare, medium, or well-done (no in-betweens like medium-rare or medium-well). We both went with medium, and it came out perfectly cooked. The steak is served with their house Le Beef sauce, which Blaze described as "earthy" with 17 (or maybe 19!) ingredients -- whatever's in it, it's rich, complex, and pairs perfectly with the steak. The portion sizes were generous, and by the end, we were both too full to even think about dessert (though we definitely wanted to). They do offer chicken or sausage as alternatives if steak isn't your thing, but for a first visit, we had to go classic. Overall, it was a great first experience -- really good food, friendly service, and a nice French touch that feels right at home in Legacy. With attentive service, a nice atmosphere, and very good food, all for $30, how can this not be five star? It's a unique concept. Only three main course options; steak, chicken, or sausage. To compare it to any of the fine dining steakhouses would be apples to oranges. Both of us had the steak option and we enjoyed it (flavorful and tender). I thought the pesto sauce was OK but the steak by itself was just fine and I prefer it plain. Somewhere around 8 to 10 ounces it seems like, and a ton of some of the best french fries I have had. Ketchup is optional, but they make their own and it's delicious. They offer three temperature options; rare, medium, or well done. Our server said that medium was closer to medium rare, and he was exactly right. It was a perfect medium rare. Our server was a really nice guy and overall very good, but he was rushing us the whole night. We subtly pushed him off a few times, but he never took the hint and kept pushing the entire night (e.g., asked my wife if she would like to start the first course before I even sat down and then later asked us if we would like to see the dessert menu before we even finished our entrées). He just needs a little training. There were empty tables as it was the middle of the week, but I felt like he was trying to turn us over quickly. Put it this way, our reservation was at 6:30 PM, I parked the car and sat down at 6:40 PM, and we were on the tollway headed home at 7:25 PM. And that's having two glasses of wine, the three course fixed price meal, and dessert in that amount of time. Speaking of dessert, we had the crème brûlée (a huge portion for only $9.95). The main course, the steak, was cooked to order (rare, medium, or well-done) and very tender. The sauce, green and creamy, was a nice mix of nutty, earthy, and herbaceous. Kind of a creamy pistachio pesto. It paired excellent with the beefiness of the steak and the perfectly crispy and salty shoestring fries. The side today were grilled zucchini, squash, and confitted tomatoes. I don't usually like tomatoes, but I took seconds! They were sweet and delicious! The desserts, we tried all of them, were dreamy! If you're going to only really offer one thing, you better do it damn well. We had an 8pm reservation, and luckily, since there isn't much deciding to do, our orders were placed by 8:05 and our salad and bread were at the table by 8:10. In a dining world of decision overload, it was a wonderful change of pace to have this level of simplicity. We had the starter salad, bread, vegetables, steak frites, and the strawberry cheesecake, and it was all absolutely fantastic. Yes, the steak could've used more salt, but it was cooked perfectly and the accompanying sauces were all delicious in their own ways (though charging $4 for extra sauce was ridiculous). As a persons who gets overwhelmed by food options, this is definitely an over thinkers paradise. I love the menu and how simple it is. Everything was ok, even from the salad! I loved the butter lettuce and how fresh it was. We then had the steak tart dishes, which kind of reminded me of a carne asada street taco. A few moments later they brought our steaks for the table both medium along with their special sauce and veggies (tomato's, squash, Zucchini). The steak could've have used some additional salt but it was a pretty decent cut of meat, just wish it was hotter. It seems like the steak was prepared a little before the fries and began to cook off before receiving it. The fries were very crispy and we sled for ketchup and it was gone. I had the Bisou Bisou and it was such a cute drink. The wait staff is very attentive and I loved how they explained the entire idea of the restaurant and how food comes out. All in all, I have this place a 4. The price point on average ranges between $50 Per Person ( with drinks) . A cute date night idea if you need something light. However, it's not the most fulfilling.
